Hello,
I have a question.
I have my note 3 for a couple of days. It is my first android device. (always used apple)
I Read something about a knox code. That will trip when I root my device.
Is that true, or is there a workaround?
Also, I read somewhere that KitKat was released for the note 3 neo (sm-n7505)
But no ota..
If I install the official rom of KitKat, will that also trip my knox?
I hope someone can help me with this

You don't have an international Note 3 device, you have a Neo variant which has it's own dedicated forums here.

Greetings all!
I plan to switch from my Galaxy S4 to a Note 3. I inted to use CM11 on my new phone. Coming from the GS4, I've managed to dodge the issues regarding the locked bootloader. I was wondering if such an issue exists on the Note 3, and if so, how to avoid it. Which firmware version should I be aiming for?

AFAIK, Note 3 AT&T has a locked bootloader.
International version does not have locked bootloader.

N9005 is what you want
CM11 means knox 0x1 and it is not possible to reset it back to 0x0, just so you know.
Hi there,
Just wondering if TowelRoot works on the Exynos Note 4? I have seen threads but they seem to be the Snapdragon.
Thanks.
Dont think theres a version for either, I went for broke and tripped my knox
Don't think it works for either version, Towelroot uses a kernal exploid which is patched by now, so nope it does not
I just purchased a Certified pre-owned Verizon Galaxy Note 3 off amazon (SM-N900V android version 5.0 kernel version 3.4.0 KNOX version 2.3) and I have the free assurance wireless lifeline service with the free cheap phone and wanted to know if I can flash my note 3 to this service? (the note 3 came with a Verizon sim card that I have not put in the phone yet ) any help would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, no. As far as I know, there is no known root method for stock 5.0 and no way to roll back to a version where root is possible. I would maybe try sending it back and say that lollipop is causing you issues. You might get a phone with 4.4.2 installed and then you could take the steps to get 5.0 while still rooted. Sorry man, but hope this helps.

No...you can not flash a Note 3 that has 5.0 on it. You can not root it either.
