Hi there,
Just wondering if TowelRoot works on the Exynos Note 4? I have seen threads but they seem to be the Snapdragon.
Thanks.
Dont think theres a version for either, I went for broke and tripped my knox
Don't think it works for either version, Towelroot uses a kernal exploid which is patched by now, so nope it does not

Hello xda
I haven't rooted yet but I'm looking up on what roms I may want to flash but I'm having a problem understanding what roms I can flash.
My phones hardware version says N900p
So I initially thought i could only flash n900 roms
But apon further investigating It seem n900 roms are for the exynos powered note 3.
I just ran cpu-z and it says I have the snapdragon cpu
Does that mean I'm able to flash n9005 roms?
(Btw I'm on sprint.)
Also just a side questions if anyone happens to know. Does sprint care if the Knox is tripped? I remember reading somewhere that they don't but I can find where I read that and I want to be sure.
Thanks to anyone that can help this confused noob.

Get your roms from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/development
Hey guys from the threads I've viewed, it looks like there is a lack of N900V support with the most popular rooting methods. Can someone give me a semi-detailed guide on how to flash X-Note and root my Verizon Note 3? I don't care about tripping Knox at this point. I just want a device that is mine.
Thanks guys.
Hi. As I said in the title, I've just changed my phone to samsung galaxy note3, but I'm not sure how to root this phone cuz I used to use a galaxy s2 before I changed my phone. ps. I live in South Korea and I'm using a Korean galaxy note3 ( sm-n900s)
The things I want to ask you guys are these
1. How do I root this?
2. Is there any custom roms that can be installed on the note3 jellybean 4.3?
3. When I root this device, does something happens to the knox warranty thing? When I searched a Korean developer forum, they said if I root this device, the knox warranty will be broken so you'll not be able to get free a/s.
4. Is the way of installing roms on note3 same as the way of galaxy s2?
5. Is it ok to install non-korean roms on my note3?
Thanks.

Of course - you'll trip KNOX 0x0 -> 0x1 and void your warranty

One piece of advice I will give you. Read until your eyes burn and you know everything that goes wrong/can go wrong and how to fix it if it does go wrong.

Go to Note 3 Android Development session, there's plenty of custom ROMs option there... Enjoy your root!
Hello,
I have a question.
I have my note 3 for a couple of days. It is my first android device. (always used apple)
I Read something about a knox code. That will trip when I root my device.
Is that true, or is there a workaround?
Also, I read somewhere that KitKat was released for the note 3 neo (sm-n7505)
But no ota..
If I install the official rom of KitKat, will that also trip my knox?
I hope someone can help me with this

You don't have an international Note 3 device, you have a Neo variant which has it's own dedicated forums here.

I just bought a T580 and seeing all the available roms for that devices (especially those enabling the 64bit part of the CPU) I am wondering what exactly are the consequences of tripping the knox counter.
For my Galaxy S8 I know that some Samsung apps will cry about the fuse being burnt but in a Galaxy Tab?
I have never used secure folder or something.
Is there anything other to look after while flashing these devices (apart from warranty issues)?
Regards,
Martin

For some odd reason I didn't even trip Knox on my tablet, at least it isn't *****ing about it. Last time I did was on my S4 a few years ago and I'd see it every time the damn thing booted (I think?).
Someone told me these tablets don't even have working Knox? No idea, but I haven't seen any indication of it having been tripped, despite having TWRP installed and being rooted on a custom rom.
I don't use any Samsung apps either though and custom roms don't tend to care about anything Knox
So unless you HAVE to use Samsung apps I think you'll be fine :good:
