Will the Nexus 7 be receiving official MIUI or CM support anytime soon?
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using xda app-developers app
I haven't seen anything guaranteed, and I don't expect to either ( these are community built ROMs and the last thing I would expect is guarentee) however this is a nexus device and will also have a huge user base with a greater than normal percentage of people willing to try custom ROMs , so I think on a practical note this device will get those builds as well as somany different flavors of android you won't be able to keep track of them all

Haha I'm only worried about getting at least a nightly for CM10 until MIUI pops up.
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using xda app-developers app
guys dont waste any time asking eh?
you realize that people are JUST NOW getting these in their hands? give it a little while....hell, CM10 is alpha on other devices that have BEEN OUT for a while...
patience appears to be something everyone has lost these days.....
I'm just a little curious as to whether or not anyone has any info. That's all, haha.

trust me....the N7 isnt going to slip by without some serious work done to it.....
did you ever see the amount of work that went into the TOUCHPAD? i can guarantee that this tablet will get CM10, AOKP, and probably MIUI....just give it some time. until then, enjoy Jelly Bean as it is....its not bad now....
Alright, I believe you. I don't even have mine in my hands yet

I don't see why not as this is a NEXUS device.

someones going to make it. no dates said yet, whenever miui gets updated to 4.2
I been wondering when r we gonna get miui for the nexus 4.
Yes i already voted on miui.com
Is just that i cant wait for it to be released
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
It will come out, but MIUI is focusing on the xiaomi phone instead, which is reasonable.
also we have chameleon OS coming along soon, its still in development. its fairly similar to miui with all the theming and stuff. its being created by one of the best miui devs in the us, |0xD34D|. he posts abunch of stuff about it on twitter

I'm also impatiently waiting!!!
I can't wait for MIUI 4.2! My Arc couldn't handle MIUI but this ROM won't stand a chance against my blazing fast N4!
Looks like MIUI V5 is coming next week : http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/miuiv5-for-xiaomi-mi-2-coming-next-friday-3-3-1.19655/
Hey MIUIers,
MIUI 3.2.22 will be the last dev version of MIUI V4. Just like MIUI 2.3, MIUI V4 will become history.
If eveything goes well, MIUI V5 for Xiaomi MI-2 will be released next Friday, 1st March!!
MIUI V5 for other devices with MIUI 4.1 will be released in late March or early April.
All MIUIv4 ICS devices will be dropped...
ONLY devices with official stock JB firmware will get MIUIv5...
Does this mean they will release a version for Nexus 4 or does it have to be ported first by the community?
I have been waiting for MIUI to come to Nexus 4 since I bought it in the first wave of units in november.
As far as I can tell it will be based on Android 4.1.X and not on 4.2.X right?
MIUIIIII
Its coming next week
afaik miui v5 is only for 4.2.x devices

i like choice, and miui is great if you get bored flashing basically the same aosp based roms over and over. also, i ran miui for like 2 months on my gs2, which is very long for me, and i miss it
I'm on Xylon right now and I really love the Miui UI, element which I give a lot of importance in a ROM. This MIUI v5 got a so sweet UI... worth a flash.

As We All Know, 4.4 Is Launched And Its On The SDK, Too. Can We Create A 4.4 ROM For Our Note II ?

That would be awesome. I'm sure some clever person is looking into it.

If we are lucky this weekend omnirom will give us a kiykat AOSP rom...
I don't think so, I'm sure about CM team.

I think community support will slowly move away from CM as Omni gets more and more features. I already have a sense Omni is more open to user input, certainly the chief devs are front and centre answering people's posts.
So my vote is for Omni too, hurry up guys!
I use omni rom and is asome.... Waiting for android 4.4 this weekend

i dream about kitkat last night and its awsome
it's all about time.
I hope that with this release we can use MHL port also on AOSP ROM
MHL property can never be implemented (till those open source hating Koreans release the sources)
Whoever goes first it's still a good news for us.

+1 I'm making the move to omni ASAP when 4.4 comes out on there op
hope we have to wait a little more..
I started this thread as at the moment there doesn't seem to be any live AOSP based ROMs.
If anyone has any information on AOSP ROMs that are in development please post here (let's include CM for fun)
Personally I'm hoping for an OMNI ROM for the multi window functionality with a pure Google experience.

CM stated on their official blog that they are working on the Note 3 roms but they are at pre-nightly stages. Once it gets stable enough for nightlies that is when it'll be released.

Might as well enjoy stock while i wait

Once one ROM is ported a bunch more will be able to use the progress that port made on the device specific files to port other ROMs. I'm hoping for Omni ROM as well.

TouchWiz is horrible
This phone, the screen, battery and cpu are WOW, but TouchWiz is horrible. The Pull down menu... 1/3rd of it is taken up by the time, settings buttons, toggle buttons, brightness and what WiFi I'm connected to.. the other 2/3rds? Taken up by 1 e-mail. Of course Samsung realizes people with a powerful business phone like this only get 1 message at a time so they make it nice and easy to read. So then the gallery... every time I'm in the gallery there is a yellow flower icon in the top left. Why? Samsung knows $700 top of the line pocket computer owners like bright flowers. The blank faces in messaging and contacts are downright ugly, seriously who approved that? Luckily I have Samsung Apps, Samsung Link, Samsung Hub and Samsung InApp Purchase to keep all this NFC S-Beam fist bumping super assistant S-Voice Jedi hand waving air command motion hover pen magic in order!
Everyday I check XDA in hopes of any news....
My Order:
1. MIUI
2. AOSP/CM
3. Sony
4. LG ?
5. HTC
6. Samsung
What is great about Omnirom?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Chainfire is involved in Omni and although he's not a ROM developer (as far as I'm aware), he does have a Note 3 so fingers crossed he'll help push support for it.
As for AOSP, I think we're all waiting on the CM nightlies to pick up, after that other AOSP ROMs should appear soon. Hopefully.

I've grown bored of CM, Slim, and Paranoid Android, so I'm looking for an interesting rom, my main stipulation is the source has to be out there so I can go and look around in it (and likely build it since I'm weird like that), MIUI looks interesting, but I'm still looking to see if the source is out there.
So I'm looking for input, does anyone have any suggestions of a ROM I can take, build and customize my own version of and use as my main rom?
I don't believe MIUI releases source code.
And essentially any AOSP ROM that has a repo can easily be built. I used AICP to build from its repo and it worked fine. Customizing has different meanings to everyone.

I though miui was closed source not positive on that but either way its awesome ROM if you find anything good please share I was looking for something like MokeOS (sp?)

For what its worth I use and reccomend F2FS version of Carbon ROM, but it maybe too similar to CM,Slim,PA for you.
Found a good one I can work with, tried it in the past, at the time it was a bit much, anyway, it's PACman, I did like some of the things they did with it.
I suggest liquid smooth. Its super fast and there are a ton of built in customizations. And about the coolest boot animation I've ever seen

Why would anyone recommend miui. It looks like iOS lol go buy a damn iPhone
I recommend slimrom. Smooth, fast and stable.

If your using All-F2FS
I'm converting every nightly build to All-F2FS
So you can be always up to date with the latest build.
