Camera area gets really hot! Should I worry? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

When playing games like Shadowgun online, or streaming live TV through TWC the back camera area gets pretty hot, what's going on? Is that normal or should I be worried?

It is normal.

Just curious but how is your battery life while playing shadowgun

It is where the processor is located. It will get pretty hot after a bunch of use.

you are having this????
No I had this on my first attix...when batteries get hot they do not work efficiently and you tend to get worse battery life. If you aren't experiencing bad battery life then you shouldn't have to worry too much

i have not all super battery as other i see its kind like my nexus 1 but today i was using drop 50% in a little more than 2 hours
Well you just have been doing a hell of a lot to have it drop that fast.
When using my phones, the only thime tthe battery/phone gets really hot is when I'm doing a lot while charging the battery; other than that the phone stays pretty cool.

You may have a bad battery or phone. I'm getting amazing battery life from my new atrix, old one got really hot (battery over 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and this lead to miserable battery life
I was playing Angry Birds Rio the other day and noticed my phone got pretty dang hot after 20-30 minutes of playing. I had to stop because I didn't want it overheating. I'll have to play the game again and see if it does it again and see if I may have a defective unit.

It sounds like you guys might have defective units; back when I had the Atrix my phone hardly ever got hot, practically never and I did a hell of a lot on my phone.

Well how hot is hot? Oh! You should go to the market and get...*checks* temp+CPU. It's a widget that will show the CPU weight and temp.
It should stay under 40°C

[Q]How long can you play games?

How long can you play games on nexus 4 without having your phone burned up?
and on hd games?
Depends on the game, but I played NOVA 3 for around a half hour and my phone barely got warm (I think 32C or 33C)
I don't really pay much attention to it though, as it never becomes an issue for me
I played NFS MW about 3 hours nonstop and got heated at the peak level ...

Huge drain during gaming?

I ve decided to play some games on my N4 but noticed very big battery consumption. I ve played 2 races in NFS MW and battery went down from 36 to 18... I am on CM10.1 with cm kernel. Tried faux one and huge drain as well.
How does your N4 behave during games?

It's a demanding game. There's not really anything weird about this. I always turn on airplane mode whenever I play a demanding game like NFS MW. Just turn off mobile data, Wi-Fi, GPS, etc, and your battery should last longer while playing games.
Is your battery drain when not playing games normal?
Yes its fine while not playing. Just gelt a bit dissapointed with the results after gaming. Well if thats normal, then i have to live with it

Try to play a demanding game on your laptop. See how fast your battery drains then . It's normal.

Now playing 2 races and draining 18% doesn't seem so bad anymore does it?
If you use faux and his app try:
1. Eco mode and under clock(1.134ghz), Under volt
2. GPU 200
3. Turn off data, lower brightness
Those are settings I use got NFS.

[Q] Nexus 7 getting too hot

Hey
I bought my nexus 7 about three days ago and I think I have an issue.
When browsing the internet or watching a movies my nexus can reach 35c and when playing tegra 3/Gameloft games it reaches 39-40c is it normal? Happens to all?
It's little annoying and I can't enjoy these games....
Any ways to solve this problem?
What are you talking about, thats waay to low, my OC-ed nexus 7 can reach upto 70c and about 69c should be the top limit, 50c is usual temp, or atleast it should be when browsing

What the hell? 70 celsius ? you can cook with your NEXUS 7 LOL
How you deal with it?
well you know, undervolt for about -100mv, which is pretty stable, if necessary lower my oc to 1.5 ghz and it never crosses 63-64
sorry if i offend you with this question, but is it possible that you were looking at your battery temp, not cpu?
because usually those temps are from the battery, it seems just too low for almost a high end device (atleast it was)

Yes I mean battery temp
minecraft
I have had the same issues with the heat on my device. I notice it gets pretty warm quick right where the rear camera is and also the glass gets pretty hot too. I been playing minecraft and it heats up quick, I checked the battery temp with an app and it reached to 31C. This was from playing for about 15 minutes. Browsing the net or watching youtube doesn't have much effect but watching a video with the browser did make the device pretty warm. I gotta admit when playing games its pretty uncomfortable.
Even 40c isn't that hot for an electronic device. I remember my old Galaxy S 4G used to get a battery temperature of 52+ while charging and playing guns n glory in a non air conditioned guard house. Every so often I'd stick it in our mini fridge for a few mins to cool it down.
I would've loved to see how hot that poor processor got, but battery temp was the only one you could check on that device.

Make sure there is no rough app holds the cpu continously. May be files are being indexed. If you have external sdcard take backup of the content, format and the transfer only what is required.

Nope. Hottest mine got for me was when running the 3DMark benchmark. In regular use it stays cool.
Gets warm after couple hours of use, but very very very little, I kinda have to look for it to touch it, a little below the camera can barely sense it.

For me, It doesn't get hot at all during normal use (browsing, downloading, chat apps etc)
However, it gets really warm durinng gaming and benchmark testing near the camera.
Mine is the Exynos one though

I bought Note 3 a week back and having the same heating problem near the camera.....when I play Can Knockdown or candy crush (I am sure they are not high end games) ...I cancelled my plan to download Asphalt.
Did you get any resolution ?
I don't play candy crush but since bard's tale was on sale I've spent 5 hours on it already and again it just gets warm. No real heating issues, but again some games differ i guess

I face the heat u mention but.. only sometime when charging while playing game.
But I think it's normal as the processor having high frequency when the hot happen.

Heating is totally normal at this devices due to cpu consumption and no cooling system. So no need to worry about it.
