Alright i just Got Fission 2.2.1 And its pretty damn Amazing. There is one problem that it really isent a BIG deal but eh i liked the Camera that was on stock with the touch focus. I used a DX_Camera Add on but the camera that it installs seems to be different then the one that i used to have. Is there a way i can get the Stock Froyo Droid X camera with 720p and touch focusing?
Look in the official thread. The answer is in there. No need to make a new thread.
The one in the Addons Folder called DX_Camera is the stock 2.2 camera
i installed that one but it doesnt let me do touch to focus? is there like something special i have to do to activate that?
I have never been able touch to focus using the blur camera. It always just moves my focal point.
The dx camera isn't in the addons folder that comes with 2.2.1. I just looked, b/c the blur camera definitely took way better pictures.

Yah Thats why i was trying to look for it, like a Droid X froyo drump but i cant seem to find it. Even just the Blur Camera APK would be nice. I tried the One found in the Addon folder for 2.1 but it just isent the same
Regarding the quality of the pictures with the Blur camera in the DX_Camera.zip file press Menu and change the setting from Widescreen to 8MP.

You should also install the D2 gallery add-on. The photos look better than the android gallery for some reason. I initially thought the camera on Fission was crap.

Can you please provide a link to said thread? I don't see what you are talking about, no mention of camera in the fission threads I saw.
Or, can someone please just upload a blur camera apk or zip. I'm sure the handful of people in this thread aren't the only ones searching around for it.
Thanks in advance.
ZuneNinja, here's the link to the .zip file from my public dropbox folder.

Hey, awesome! Thanks for the file. Isn't dropbox a wonderful thing?
It's friggin AWESOME. Even better than bluetooth file transfer between my computer and phone (especially for LARGE files).
That, and the photo thing is far better than older services like photobucket and imageshack.

Check the settings in the camera and make sure face detection is NOT checked. That should let you manually focus the camera.
I've been trying to find the perfect app for photos (particularly for my Flickr photostream) and what an abysmal lot of apps they are. The only one that seems like it might be good is FlickFolio but you have to pay to find out if it is. There is no free trial version or light version. I've tried nearly all of the free alternatives including Flickr's ofiicial app and that is terrible (Stuck in portrait mode on the tablet until you open a photo fullscreen and then it suddenly allows landscape mode. Exit fullscreen and it is stuck in portrait mode again). JustPics HD is sorta OK but has an issue where it makes the screen go full brightness when you show a photo fullscreen. Also it only shows sets instead of the photostream.
Don't even get me started on the inbuilt photo viewer. Complete garbage (why do I want to see every image stored in my books folder! Sheesh!).
This seems to be the way with a lot of apps on Android though. They seem to cater for either phone users or tablet users and rarely both. I don't have experience of Apple stuff but I am guessing things are a little more together over in the Apple apps camp.
EDIT: Sorry just having a bit of a moan.
Give Quick Pic a try. It's free and works nicely as a photo gallery for viewing local content on all my Android devices...you can choose which folders to include or exclude and the image rendering is very fast.
Id get flickfolio, really good app has all your stream and sets and so forth.
It stores it a set amount locally also so you can view while offline.
I've sworn by quickpic for a very long time but since the last few updates my albums sometimes take up to 90 seconds to load.

Try clearing it's cache.
I've done so. its a problem after cache clearking and reinstalls over multiple ROMs.
JustPictures works great for online albums as well as local stuff.
Flickr Viewer HD.
So far seems awesome, pics look great and a very cool layout. Still needs some interface work but my favorite Flickr App

This is an Quick Review of the Official Jelly Bean Update, which demonstrates some of the changes and features, which I thought would be useful for new people interested in this ROM and also those with the ROM to take a look at.
I plan on making an In-Depth review in a couple of days that will hopefully mention all aspects of the tablet, if you guys think you've found some great features feel free to leave a comment in the video or if you have any questions about the update so that I can mention/answer them in the In-Depth Video that should be ready in a couple days.
You can also post some changes you have found here in this thread and how your experience has been with the New Jelly Bean Update; Thanks for the help guys.

Something I noticed...
Hey - great Video.
I noticed something on 4.1.1 (and did not see it in your video). It took me for a spin-loop the first time: When downloading something fom the web (deafult browser) it does not save the file anymore to the internal (/mnt/sdcard/Downloads) - but instead to the external SD-card (I assume when one is present. I have not tried it without my externalSD yet.
Thanks again for the features.....
LOVENOTE10.1
One disappointing thing I have noticed in s note.
If you wish to have a custom background based upon an image it does not save that image as a template background for future sessions. You must go through the entire process each time. I prefer to write with a white pen on black lined paper. It would be nice if the background gallery would retain this option for me between sessions.
Also I do not see any way for us to custom design our own templates. Am I missing something? I can think of a number of layouts I would like which they do not offer by default.

Yeah, if its possibe, ideally enough so we can read the menu options, pause the video so we can see if anythings new or changed, generally a better view of everything, if its possible, i assume you do it this way because its easier, less fiddly not worrying about being out of camera, im assuming

If you save a blank note with the background you want, when you want to start a new note, open the orginal and "save as" before you start using it. The orginal "sort of" becomes a template. Kind of crude but faster than changing the background each time. I think the S-Note we have is going to be the S-Note we'll be living with for quite a while.

Now that there's a Windows version of S-Note they'd be smart if they published a SDK like they have for the S-Pen in general. The fact that syncing S-Note's to a Samsung account has been added might mean something's planned for the future.

I agree guys, they should at least have a section in the settings or somewhere in the app to request features or leave feedback. Especially since its not in any of the app stores.
Also I just signed into Samsung Apps and they're giving $20 coupons for learning hub to all users, not that I've seen anything in learning hub that interests me :/

Hey guys,
Do any of you know or use any photo editors that allow you to add effects via fine tuning using fingers so that essentially I can use my pen to do it even better!
In case I'm not clear, what I mean is the ability to add filters and effects by touching parts of the photo rather than having it applied automatically to the whole image.
Now that I think about it, I could have sworn there was a samsung for app that... but I can't find it? I remember seeing something on the store demos.
Adobe Photoshop Touch could be?
And wrong section

Hmm ideally a free one would be good
And yes sorry this is probably suitable as a question rather than a discussion.

Try "Picart", was designed for S pen"
Nice I didn't know picsart had s-pen, I tried it ages back and hated the fact it couldn't do high res images or most of the filters without internet.

I have, it was my previous favourite on the old phone, it's a great editor but there is no brush or pen support, in the sense of using the pen to apply the effects on parts of the image.

Ah, you literally want to paint them on?
Then Photoshop is probably your best bet. Apply the effect to a duplicate of the layer, turn on layer mask and brush away the parts of the effect that you don't want.

Ah yes sure, it's this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.picsart.studio
It's improved a lot and not so bad once you take the ads off. I think one of the reason I ditched it was it required an internet connection as a lot of the filters are processed server side.. which is nice until your on the move and loose internet...
Otherwise it has pretty much everything there, all the filters you could want and s-pen support (brush) so you can paint on the effects on the picture.
I looked at Adobe photoshop, it does look good, a bit steep and probably not your 5-min quick effect type but very advanced.

I have had almost every Motorola Droid since the Original. I was so excited when they announced Motorola was getting this years Nexus. Texting someone who've you've recently call is nearly impossible unless I enter the number manually, I'm forced to use the google camera and google photos. All these years I was lednto believe that the manufacturers skins were bad .. I'm thinking they aren't so bad after all...I'm hopping I can find some exposed mods to help me here I'm having a terrible time making the transition from my Droids to Vanilla android.
They each (AOSP vs manufacturer's skins) have their advantages. For me, I was sick of being many months behind on Android versions.
You'll be able to find lots of tweaks to help. You might also try Benzo or Chroma ROMs.
And I am someone that every non nexus I have had I put aosp on as soon as I could love me some vanilla

Search in Calendar is right in the top level menu, just above the first separator (Schedule...Day...3 Day...Week...Month....Search). Assuming you mean Google Calendar, which is stock.
Click on the contact image to bring up the contact, and the text icon is on the right. Click on the number to bring up a redial menu. Its not labeled or anything, but once you know its super easy.
Why are you forced to use Google's camera? It sucks. I use Snap Camera. Google photos sucks, too. Actually, all galleries suck compared to QuickPic. And I use SugarSync for backup because it copies the photos to a specific directory on my main PC.
And other than maybe the dialer, I used these same apps when I ran a TW ROM on my old S4. The more open API standards of Android generally allow you to use best in class apps no matter what OEM skin is in place. Also...dialers can be replaced, too. I just don't use them enough to care much.

You aren't actually experiencing problems, you're still in the learning phase. Once you have it figured out, you'll be good to go.
I actually like the Droid Turbo immensely. My issue with it was pretty much that it doesn't work on my carrier's network (UMTS/AWS). The international version "Moto Maxx" was very appealing, but hard to get your hands on and really not all that much support.
** I favor, slightly, the smaller screen + bigger battery.
The calendar search has been explained.
Text to a caller is easy; In your dialer RECENTS list, click on the CONTACT ICON at the LEFT SIDE of the log line, and then press the "messaging" button on the top-right of the drawer that pops up from the bottom of the screen. Bang, you're in Messaging and that contact is selected.
Not sure what problem you have with the google camera application, works pretty well for me.
But yeah, photos[+] is a horrid piece of spyware crap that deserves to burn in hell.
You can disable photos by dragging it from the launcher drawer to the top of the screen "info" and pressing "disable".
THEN you can install the proper AOSP gallery, which I've rigged up to install as an external apk;
https://github.com/lbdroid/Android-Binaries/blob/master/Gallery2.apk
OR if you prefer to compile it from source yourself to reassure yourself that I didn't add any spyware to it;
https://github.com/lbdroid/android_packages_apps_Gallery2
* note: compiling that requires NDK

I concur with some other folks here, it sounds like you need Chroma. IMHO the best way to describe Chroma is a vanilla version of Android with all of the little niceties added back in.
IMO the google camera has been slightly faster at responding (focusing, snapping, opening, etc) since the update to 5.1 (I have used both stock 5.1 and now cleanrom). Before that I used open camera, and still like it for the features.
