Has anyone had any issues with the Chrome Browser lately?
When I turn on my G2 after like 10 minutes+ screen off time and open Chrome afterwards, it won't open any websites and will say smth like no network available. At first I thought WiFi issues were the case but then I tried LGs browser and it worked just fine. As this has only happened on my G2 and not any other devices I don't think this is only an app issue...
Hm nope. I have chrome running a lot at work, and no such issue.

Note that Chrome is fully optimized when your phone's RAM is higher than 1GB.
And maybe the optimization of Google Chrome of LG g2 is not enough, and i suggest u may try to use lg browser in this situation.

Okay, thank you, that might be the case!

Is there a fix for this yet?
I can't type on forums or anything, even filling out forms is a general pain.
Luckily I have tapatalk but that still shouldn't mean I have to suffer in the browser department
It seems to happen sporadically with me. Really is annoying when it's happening though. Might be an issue with a background service taking priority.
Use swiftkey it's way better but still lags on forums

Swiftkey is out for 3.0? I've got it on my DHD (bought) but it doesn't show in the 3.0 market
It's not a Keyboard problem. Lags still remains using harware dock-keyboard too... Unfortunally it's the status now...
Hope this is solved asap.
theres swiftkey for tablets , on the VIP forum.
is this the same slow down that i get trying to load some pages? it gets stuck at say, 80% and nothing else happens. drives me crazy

I can confirm this. It seems to be a problem with the way the stock browser is built. Some of the third party browsers borrow from Google's code, so they'll suffer from a lot of the same issues until Google resolves it. Browsers built on a completely different engine won't suffer from the same issues.
If anything I prefer Opera Mobile anyway for its ability to render pages faster.

Can you post the apk?
does switching the user agent help any? .ie. mobile instead of tablet

Same here but the default font size on opera mobile is way too small compare to dolphins and default. That is why I keep going back to default browser.

Nope does not help. The only reason why i have my agent on desktop instead of tablet is because some videos on youtube site will not play if you're browser is set to tablet.
the gl fix didn't really do anything for me.
I have owned every tablet and the asus so far stands a cut above the rest
...........
I've tried all the fixes...some are better than others...I've tried all the browsers...nothing put a real stop to it until I started using Firefox 5 beta.
No lag whatsoever. None. Not even a hint.
But give up flash. Tons of lag as itype this. Lol.
Same problem here.. I was showing off my TF to my Bro who has an Ipad2.. he was so impressed and I was so happy until the physical keyboard lagged as he typed on his facebook.
Any fix yet??
Like unusable badly.
I chrome, opera, boat, etc. They have started to lag. When I open the app, it takes forever to load and it it literally freezes because it doesn't respond to my touches. This past for about 10 to 15 seconds. This happens every time I go to a new website as well. Sometimes, even the whole entire tablet freezes, not just the browser app. I can't even go home, back or multitask. Then, the stupid dialog box saying "app is not responding do you wait to close, report, wait?" this lasts for 10 seconds or so
Then it finally unfreezes but then freezes again when I type in a new url.
Only really happens in browser and Tapatalk too, but only during startup for Tapatalk.
Should I factory reset? I don't want to lose my game save data though I'm stock btw.
This is where having a micro sd would be helpful. Stupid idiot OEMs omitting sd cards #smh

Try clearing your cache? I installed Cache Clear by JRummy and was amazed at over 1GB of cache data 800mb of which went to chrome... It ran much smoother after clearing it.

Ya I cleared cache on chrome and magazines. Still problem.

I find Chrome to be VERY laggy when I open it, takes ages to re-load the previous open tabs (even if it's only 1 or 2) and ages before I can open a new one and type a url etc, I am finding the Firefox beta to be much MUCH better, plus it supports Flash so I am now pretty much using it as my default browser.
Maybe you should try custom rom
try downloading androbench and then test your device. Browser lag is sometimes related to storage read speeds.
Use Xscope browser. Nuff said.

Just tried xscope. Not a bad browser. It did freeze on me though
But it's pretty quick.

Xscope is very fast. In my experience it's the fastest. It's lightweight and has tons of features. I really suggest reading the help section to understand what options it has. Honestly I am amazed that xscope is not as popular as it should be. Everybody talks about dolphin/chrome but they don't come close to how easy and fast xscope is. I think that anybody who doesn't like xscope hasn't messed around with it enough to understand it. It literally feels way closer to chrome browser on the pc than chrome for android does. Use it for a few days and learn all it's features and I promise you will at least think a lot differently about it. There are quick gestures for switching tabs and you can even swipe across the screen to go back to your previous link (instead of pressing back button). That option is super handy! There are quick toggles for inverting the whites and blacks, desktop modes, full screen, lock orientation, etc. Trust me, just play with the option and you will love it I think.
I just reset my tablet since the browsers were lagging badly and freezing.
Everything seems to run s,other now, although I haven't installed my games yet lol

Look at your Google sync services. Possible some rogue app is problematic. I had stock browser sync issues at one point and just disabled sync for that service. Also, I think that Dolphin is the smoothest

I remember reading something about Google currents causing lag in jelly bean.
People said they fixed it by opening the currents app and disabling background sync.
Hello,
I have this problem with the Chrome browser on my Nexus 10. Basically, it happens a lot. What happens is that after a tab loads and I switch to a new tab, when I switch back to the previous tab, it just automatically reloads? Then I switch to another one and it automatically reloads too. What's going on? Anyone know what's up?
Thanks,
Crazysah

Sounds like you are low on memory. The tabs will not be kept if you run out of memory, so they will need to reload when you return to them.
I'm definitely not on low memory. Only installed like 20 apps on a brand new Nexus 10. Has to be something else.
I'm still having this problem. Anyone know the solution?
I see what you mean now, you're right. It does reload sometimes when it doesn't seen like it needs need to. Just a buggy app I guess. You using the beta?
It should never reload unless it has been a very long time or the site forces it too. I'm using the April 3rd update.
Still experiencing this? Any ideas guys?

Don't confuse memory with space available on sdcard.

Are you stock, or running a ROM?
Generally, though, the recent apps implementation will show how much ram is left.
I'm on stock. Just installed like twenty apps and two wallpapers and that's about it really.

Again, this really doesn't have any correlation to how much ram is in use. Given that the GPU takes up even more ram after the last update, the user is only able to use about 1.23gb. Depending on how many of those apps you have open, the system could feel like it is low.
Personally, I have swtiched away from using the Chrome beta, even though I miss the sync across multiple devices.
Free ram....I think the app OS monitor can show you this. Of course there is also the argument that free ram is wasted ram on Android.

I have about 760MB of free RAM and I still have this problem.

I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about this problem, it is the biggest issue for me on the Nexus 10. I reported that bug on the Chromium bug tracker. I encourage everyone here to sign in to the bug tracker with your google account and star that thread. You don't need to add your own comment, unless you can help debug the problem, simply starring it will show that you care about this issue. Hopefully, the more people star it, the more urgency this issue gets from them.
This is a problem with every Android browser, as far as I can tell, except perhaps Opera Mini, haven't tried that one. It's because of the way Android handles memory: I can reproduce it with Firefox also, just after opening more tabs. Hopefully, the Chromium devs can do something about it. I wonder if the iPad and iOS have similar issues with web browsing, anyone know?

I'm dubious as to whether the problem is Chrome on your tablet, or just Chrome for android in general. Its really not all that great, especially compared to Dolphin and AOSP.

For example, when I am looking at my own list of installed apps and then select one, it pauses for 2-3 seconds before jumping to the app's page. This happens consistently, but I've never seen such a delay on my other devices (Nexus 4, Nexus 7). Does anyone else's seem to pause there a lot longer than it should?
Other than that, the phone is very fast!

I'm having the same problem as well. Most of the time I'll click on an app and the phone just sits... and waits... until it finally opens up the actual app page. Really annoying but glad I'm not the only one that's noticed it.

I wish that was the case, but I can put it side by side my Nexus 4 or Nexus 7, and it's WAY slower than those. It always happens on my G2, so there is something about the play store version or the LG custom software on the device that's causing these delays. I believe it happens in some other apps too. Tapatalk, for instance, seems to delay longer after selecting a forum as well. Very weird.
I have the same problem on all my phones. I think its playstore but sporadic enough so you may think it is only the new phone.

I've had the same thing on both my G2 and my RAZR Maxx. Think it might be the play store.
I've noticed app pages loading slowly on Google Play for the past few/several weeks when I owned a Sprint Galaxy S4 up to getting the LG G2 earlier this week. Now being a new owner of a new phone on a different network, the only constant in the equation is Google Play.

Is anyone else experiencing extreme screen jittering on their internet browser on Android p beta? Let me say first that the "regular" screen jittering isn't a noticeable problem for me on Android 7 or 8. Chrome, brave launcher and Opera browser are all giving me issues. I did not have this problem on any other rom.
