No sound after flashing mi8 knox free from djembey
Nice op
I will make it clearer for all since I have the same issue.
I had MGA base rom for a long time.
Upgraded to echo v.5 (4.3 rom, base MJ5)
Flash MJ5 modem as "AP" in odin 3.09
flash MJ5 non-hlos.bin as "AP" in odin 3.09
Restart. No sound! poweramp, video player, calls , anything. Sound totally broken.
Flash MGA modem as AP
flash MGA non-hlos.bin AP
and I have sound working again.
Anyone know why flashing MJ5 modem+non-hlos.bin breaks sound?!
MD5 is correct for both files so they arent corrupted. I dont also know if its non-hlos.bin or the modem.bin that breaks sound, because I always flash both, when I upgrade baseband as I believe they go together.

UPDATE
flashing MJ5 modem is fine! verifed and tested now.. it is no problem with MJ5 modem
it is just the MJ5 non-hlos.bin that breaks the sound.
can you give me the link for this the sound dont work at all
Hi, I have no sound coming off my I9505 and have been reading pages here for about 4 days non-stop but I can't get it fixed.
There was sound when turning on the phone while the Samsung logo when on stock rom but apart from that no sound.
I read for some people flashing I9505XXUDMH8_I9505OXXDMHA_I9505XXUDMH8_HOME.tar resolved the problem but not in my case.
I also tried flashing different kernels and stuff, but nothing.
Ive just tried flashing MGA modem and MGA non-hlos with odin 3.04 as phone and still nothing!
Does anyone have any idea how to fix sound??
Btw I also have no signal, Wifi does work though!
Thanks!

I try to flash me2 rom on my 9505 T-Mobile but at the end it fails at flashing modem.bin resulting in network problems. why is it doing this?
I have the same problem now, wifi is not woring anymore, and now can't root with motorshopper.
Greetings.
Sorry for my english, i'm from Chile.
Well, about 3 weeks ago I tried to flash Omega Rom V13.2, and I needed to flash the modem XXUEMJ5 in order to do so.
I completed the process usin Odin and PhliZ Touch. Then I flashed the rom and booted the S4.
But when i tried to call, the phone rebooted. Also, it doesn't played any music and worked very slow.
Later, I flashed Echoe Rom and it didn't worked too.
Then i tried to flash another Modem. I flashed another modems but it didnt solve the problems
Currently, this is what i see after dialing *#1234#:
AP: I9505XXUEMJ8
CP: I9505XXUEMJ5
CSC: I9505EVREMJ2
But the phone doesn't work. ¿Is there any way to fix it?
go back to stock rom 4.3 it will fix everything:laugh:

download the modem you need and then extract with 7zip the modem.rar file-then you have modem.tar file,
turn off phone complete-- go into download mode with push at the same time home, power and vol down buttons, continue with vol up..
put the modem.tar file into phone in odin 3.07, but do not select auto reboot.. you have to reboot by yourself with power button and the modem is normally changed...
if not repeat one time more
good luck
i was having reception problems, thought maybe if i flashed the modem file and NON-HLOS file it would fix it. but now i got no sound, also made a backup, restored backup no change. So what i did was flash to stock 4.3 touchwiz got sound. then i realized i could not root this. so what i did was did some research and follow this. so now im back on GE 4.2.2 and still i have no sound!!!!!!! but i had with 4.2.2 touchwiz help please help please.
Last night i flashed back to stock 4.2.2 and reset my flash counter to get the bell update to 4.3.
All went well with the update. Untill i started playing.... Removed too many bloats... Wanted to start again...
FORGETTING that ATT users and others have been unable to flash back to 4.2.2 after installing 4.3
Trying to ODIN back to 4.2.2 was a mistake, it flashes the bootloaders, then fails at the kernel...
Phone stuck without the 4.3 odin file.... (not posted on sammobile or samsung-updates yet)
Long story short, we are able to flash back to 4.2.2 by flashing I337MUMUAMI1_I337MUWAAMI1_CDR from the domnican republic, then rooting by cfautoroot, installing recovery thru rom manager, then flashing a custom rom/restoring backup.
KNOX warning at bootscreen!!!!
Waiting for odin flashable file of bell 4.3 to be proper again.

WARNING!!!! Microphone and wifi no longer work without proper modems.
fixed it, seems like all you have to do is download the old modem files.

That was said for a while now, you'll have trouble doing down by the knox
I managed to somehow break my phone's wifi. My Phone (Phone A) is the Galaxy S4 SPH-L720 (The original - not the triband one) I had the NAE stock rom (rooted), and I have a 2nd line with the exact same phone - which has NG2 (referring to as Phone B now).
I tried to get the native tether to work on Phone B with the NG2 rom using @idone's Galaxy Tools apk. it worked.
So I decided to try it on Phone A running NAE. I wiped /system and /data and completely cleaned Phone Ausing philz touch recovery. I then booted into download mode and used ODIN to flash the md5 containing the NAE rom. It flashed just fine - Phone A was now stock, unrooted with NAE.
Then I did the OTA update for NG2. Now Phone A is NG2. BUT there are a few problems now....
1. The Build number now says NG2 BUT the baseband is still NAE.
2. Once I rooted Phone A *AFTER* the NG2 update, I noticed Wifi broke. I don't know if rooting it broke it or if it was before. But obviously something went wrong if the baseband is still showing NAE right?
So currently I am suffering a custom ROM until someone (or sammobile) has an ODIN flashable NG2 file.
Is there any other way to fix this? or did I just screw my phone?
Does anyone have an MD5 file for the stock NG2 software?
I would try flashing the NAE software but that will obviously brick my phone thanks to KNOX
There is a NG2 stock rooted rom in one of the threads. I cannot remember which one. I do not think it is md5 but it is flashable from recovery. Can you not use that? I have also seen several fixes for the wifi issue but I do not remember what the fix was or which thread it was in since I have not had a problem with that issue. Look around a little. It could only be in one of three forums and I am sure it will be on the first page.

Your in luck. The MD5 file was posted this morning http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...tock-ng2-odin-flashable-t2861576/post55117386.

Thank you so much!!!!
Don't know Rwiloc12's stock rom here contain stock NAE modem and NAE bootloader etc in?? http://rwilco12.com/downloads.php?d...axy S4 (SPH-L720)/Stock ROMs/NAE/Original TAR
A s4 device downgrade to MDC modem for SIM unlock. After flash back to NAE modem the WIFI still can not turn on. Device originally with NAE rom, NAE Modem and Bootloader, so it could corrupt the NAE bootloader or baseband with MDC modem installed. For some people flash back to NAE and WIFI work fine, and another still can not turn WIFI on. (My previous device work.)
Now, the only method I know to restock everything back to stock.. Don't know the above link from Rwilco12 could help.. Please advice.. thanks in Adv.
