I really like the stock Messaging app and its integration with the rest of the phone. However, I would like to be able to turn on "read receipts" without receiving a notification every time a message is delivered. Is this possible?

If you root and install the xposed framework there's a few modules that can do this.

I've done that already. Interesting.. I'm new to this xposed framework thing. I'll have to take a look at the modules. Would you happen to know which ones?
Well I don't use the stock messaging app to test it out but this one should work

Out of the blue, I am getting these on every notification now. The number doesn't change (if that IS a number inside of the red dot.)
Just wondering if anyone has any idea what it is? It's not from Nova Launcher and it's def not a system setting.

Nope. GoSMS. But I don't have the badge plug in.

Hmm, I haven't used GoSMS in a while, is it possible to turn off the notifications in the app itself and let the system notify you to see if that helps?

Has nothing to do with GoSMS. The badges are showing on email, tapatalk, instagram, etc. notifications as well.

I believe it's from StolenVW's systemui tweaks. I started getting them too after I installed his mod

I went back to the older SystemUI.apk and now I have no badges. None on GoSMS either, so I don't think they are enabled automatically on GoSMS.
With the modified SystemUI.apk, I get those red badges on ALL incoming notifications.

Hello, I have an S4 and I want to be able to change just the system font alone to a blue color to match my ford escape's dash panel so it matches when I'm driving (It's connected to a mount for gps accessibility, music, and speech texting). I don't want to install a whole theme like apex or any of such. I just want something simple that changes the system font's color, and possibly the notification tools to blue if it exists.
If there's nothing I can download, can you teach me how to do it myself step-by-step? I saw another thread like this, but it simply ended in someone being smug and saying you come here to learn so do it yourself, giving the poster no leads as to where to even start.
The color of the led is what I want in this image:

First of all you'll need to root your phone, after you've did so download wanam xposed at the play store, after that you're good to go! Good luck.

I failed to mention my phone was already rooted, otherwise I wouldn't have mass storage for ford sync to work ;P but thanks!
Oh, then try Wanam Xposed from the play store.

I'm having troubles with wanam, It lets me change all the different colors for theme options, but when I reboot (through wanam) none of which I wanted changed, changes.
edit: Nevermind, requires my further input for xposed to work.

Haha alright, is that what you wanted to change on the notification bar?

There is a hide apps from the app drawer module for Xposed Framework but it only works for GEL. Anyone know of one that will work for us. I'm using Baja Rom and would love this option back. Thanks

I'm making this post for a friend. She has a T-Mobile G2 and apparently when using sending text messages (via stock app) messages fail if the persons message is themed. Deleting Cache and resetting will help for a little while, but eventually will do it again. Text Messages sent without any custom themes are sent fine. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

No, this is for a friend who was having trouble, stock rom, non-rooted. I did a search and didn't find anyone with the same issue, I thought maybe someone on here would know a work around... or anyone know of a good third party messaging app that allows to have individual themes for different people?

I love this phone, but the stock ROM seems to be missing the bits needed for the various App Ops programs to work. I've been running AOSP/AOKP/AICP ROMs for so long now, I totally forgot that the permissions code had been removed.
Is there any way to add the code back, so these apps will work again?
Install xposed and use xprivacy?

I've never used xprivacy, though I've seen many swear by it. I'll install xposed tonight and check it out. Can't wait for a good aftermarket ROM. Haven't seen one yet.... bit I haven't been looking too hard, either.

Thanks for all the replies/advice. I finally got around to installing the xposed framework, as well as a bunch of modules (forgot how great it was). I installed AppOps for xposed, as well as Xprivacy. Xprivacy takes forever to setup, but has a lot more granularity.
