Hi Guys,
I am new to Android coming over from being a 4th Gen iphone user. I presently upgraded to the Galaxy Note 3. My model is SM-N900W8 and with a Canadian carrier. I was trying to follow the Root_De_La_Vega method to root my phone and keep my Knox Security intact.
This is the link to it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46389503&postcount=2
My AP file is not listed: N900W8VLUBMJ4
The CSC folder link to obtain the CSC tar file has been removed. I'm not sure how to proceed from here onward. Can someone please advise how to root this version of the Note 3 and still keep Knox intact.
This is my first post on this forum and not sure if I'm in the correct posting.
Thanks man!!!

You should always post quotes in the Q&A forum, not in General.
Read the threads about UNIVERSAL Root De La Vega (URDLV). Also there are 1-2 good threads on the W8 model - normally (on N9005) you could not be able to root MJ4 and keep knox 0x0 but you might still have a small chance on N900W8.

Hi Everyone,
I have searched all over the internet and have been unable to find an answer to this question. Has anyone been able to root a Galaxy Note 3 on Ubuntu. If you have done it or know someone who has, please let me know.
Thanks

Search after Heimdall - is the open-source equivalent of Odin. And then write in download mode the CORRECT cf-auto-root for your firmware. Knox flag WILL be triggered (unless your firmware is before 4.3 MJ3, in which case you will have to use Heimdall with files generated by Universal De La Vega method, but the Knox flag will not be triggered).

Thanks for your reply xclub. I have tried Heimdall and was not able to run it successfully with my Note 3. Do you have any instructions for Rooting the Note 3 with Heimdall?
Ps. I have the same firmware as yourself N9005
Hello everyone, I have the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 with build mi9. I never updated because I was planning to root. I looked at universal root de la vega but the instructions there are not clear to me. Is there a thread or link to up to date instructions on how to root the note 3?
I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
hello,
I'm not able to root my n900 under the last firmware 4.4.2 using "CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900" ! Odin3 gives me a message "Failed" in red, and my n900 blocked, I was obliged to update the firmware with Odin3 to unblock it!
any idea ? is CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900 working with the last firmware 4.4.2 ?
thanks in advance.

Google : cf autoroot galaxy note 3 xda forums. Follow the rest there. You will trip Knox counter and lose warranty.
Go to development forums for note 3 and search for more methods. And read to pick up right files for 4.4.
Best way is to install a custom recovery, TWRP for example (see dev section), and then flash the SuperSU zip package from that recovery and you will be done. Get the zip package from here, https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
