If you're using windows 8:

Microsoft just launched a inbuilt remote desktop app with windows8. Don't know if it's 8.1 exclusive as I haven't tried it yet.

It's not 8.1 exclusive but it is W8Pro version exclusive, and he said he has the regular version. It's a shame because I use it and it works flawlessly.

Ah. My bad. Posting stuff too hastily. To at least add some value to this post:
I'm using teamviewer as well. Works really really well, and it's perfect if you have many devices since you can log in to connect to other previously connected devices.

Otherwise "MirrorOp" would be a choice, however the free version is only limited to 5minutes.
I used it on one of my tutorials and you can click and write/write to your android device using the computers screen. I used it on one of my tutorials here:

I tried to install the Samsung drivers under windows 8 without success. I ended up installing it on a virtual windowsXP machine running under VirtualBox on the win8 machine and it works fine.
I put the phone in download mode and fired up Odin and it recognize the phone.

I'm still on Windows XP haha, I meant to upgrade to Win 7 but never did since I can't afford to upgrade my motherboard/cpu/ram/etc. Windows 8 looks promising... but I don't really know how I feel about it looking/feeling like a mobile platform rather than a more 'traditional' desktop feel. Do they let you change it to look like traditional Windows or not?

I tried to install the sdk but it's complaining that it can't find java.exe or the java sdk even though it's installed and jave.exe is right where it says it can't find it. Did you run into anything like that?
EDIT: never mind. I was installing the 64 bit version. the sdk wants to see the 32 bit version.

I've tried the one from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940197
when installed as user app it opened but force closed when opening document and as system app it seemed to be opening and then just close and go back to app drawer
maybe there's something in the build.prop that has to do with it? I prefer the 4 version but didn't manage to get the 3 to work either
I've tried other office apps but as for now, Polaris is the best one I've used... Kingsoft is very slow and others I've tried didn't have good support for RTL languages which is a must for me
really want to get it to work :\

Oh, Wow that post has made its way around quite a bit. It's definitely an awesome fix and I'm glad that we atleast have a solution, although I believe it should be available natively inside the client.

? It doesn't change the host file, so if you have ad block installed then it won't be affected by this modification.

Globally. However, some still show the black box where the ad would be. Others don't show anything if the ad can't load.

There are several apps on play store. I tried one of them "multiscreen multitasking THD" (you have to buy it to try it) but soon returned it. Very impressive idea but it could not connect to the Internet with its own browser, so I asked for a refund.

It worked fine as far as the multi window aspect. Quite cool! I just could not connect with its browser. It’s only $2 so you can try and see if you can get it to connect. I wrote to the author but have not heard back yet.

Paranoid Android is currently working on their implementation of multi window, but it uses an overlay concept to do it. IMO this is much cleaner than stacked windows. They also have a notification ticker that works like Facebook chat heads, which is how you launch the overlay apps. It's still in alpha status but it's shipping up to be really good.

It works (as far as I can tell), just find the apk and send it via Bluetooth to your tab and install.
Yes, it works! Use "app backup and restore" to grab the apk file from your phone and use that to install it on your n7.

This, I've had office suite pro for a while now and haven't had any complaints.
When I browse office mobile page in playstore, it says only compatible with Nexus 4. Says, not compatible with kindle hd and nexus 7. Same thing for Amex mobile. May be i can extract the apk of amex mobile from my nexus 4 and see if it works with my nexus 7.
