Where are the Action Memo's stored? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't seem to find where the Action Memo's are stored?
Basically, I copied and pasted my whole storage onto my computer and then did a full wipe of the phone. I've just put back all the data back onto the phone and my Action Memo's are empty. I had quite a few important notes I scribbled down there!
Any ideas where I can extract the Action Memo notes from?

Yes, but when I open the app, there are no Memo's inside... that's the issue.

Kies backs up S Note only, not action Memo's. And Titanium backs up user applications only (it's advised not to backup system apps).
So sadly, none of the above will help me out here.

No backup possible?! Its sad that it lacks pdf export as well.

Seriously???? The note 3 is a HUGE disappointment!!
Freeking samsung needs to fix this stuff!!!
No backup whatsoever???

Incase someone else is also doing the same here is how to get your actions memos
BUT BEFORE YOU DO YOUR FULL WIPE
In action memo >> Share via >> Select all >> whatever app you want
when it shows list of apps for sharing, It has already generated jpgs in action memo folder in phone memo
So you can copy them just like any other pic from there or use share via.
Hope I helped & Happy to help (Press thanx if i helped)

Multiple App files from Nandroid extracted Titanium . . .?
I thought I had it covered by extracting the notes from my TWRP Nandroid backup with Titanium, (I've done it before)
However this time I have a problem, There are several files for the same app . . .

}
First I tried selecting All 4 of the files to restore . . . the notes were restored, but it corrupted them so that they showed no info
Next I tried deleting all of the entries and restoring just the first . . . That didn't work
I'm sure someone knows the reason Titanium is pulling multiple files from the same app . . .
Does anyone know how I can use this backup data to restore my notes?
Thanks!

The above is actually the same problem I'm encountering. Any suggestions on how I can recover the notes? Even if I can just see them so I can jot down the information.

Hi guys,
Here i want to show my Rom Cleaner, its idea comes from => Here , so credits for the idea and the ini files i used as base belong to him
this app allows you to clean out unneeded crap and bloatware from your roms, before you flash them.
List of files to remove is about 100 different ones now.
i hope some of you will test this and provide feedback.
PS, program is coded in autoit, which some old AV's tend to flag, i'll offer admins a look at the source code if needed.
PS2, Only supports CWM type roms.

Damian

I'm assuming course that it would course invalidate md5 checksum, and as a result there's no real assurance that the zip had been repacked correctly prior to flashing.
no, it wont pass that test, but seeying its a regular zipfile, you can always test the zip itself.

True. What about the repacking of system.img ?
this basicly only works on the CWM based roms, which are zipfiles, so i dont touch those

Ahh. Hrm odd I don't recall ever actually using a CWM based rom, every rom I've tried after CM7.2 have been mostly ICS roms, and every i've ever unpacked have had each of the partitions saved as img files.
yes that is weird, every rom i use can be flashed by cwm, and when unpacked, only bootimage is a img file, rest is folders and files.
Interesting idea, cool. So far, I've been deleting manually files from the zips. One suggestion, could you add someday ability to add programs into the selected ROM?
Or even better, enable user to create batch package/batch deletion of his apks/always-deleted-apks that could be added/removed with a single click to/from every consecutive ROM ? Just a loose idea.. Thanks!

you can allready do that, just place the apk's in the files/add folder' it allready has system and data in there, just make a apps folder and drop them in
good idea, ill let program save removal settings on exit, so it can load them when it starts

I'm afraid I don't follow. Drag and dropp doesn't work in any case. I tried dnd on apks, zips with structured folders or folders alone. Give me a tip
chech the program folder, in the files/add folder, are 2 more folders, data and system.
if you make an app folder in there, and drop your apk's in there, they will be pushed to your rom
example, 'files/add/system/app/MyTestApk.apk'

Ok, thanks for the advice! I assume that it won't push apks that aren't supported in removal? I'm talking specifically about Cerberus.apk - it is very advantegous to integrate the app with a ROM.

thats totally unrelated, any file you place there gets pushed, any file.
Come to think of it, I might actually be thinking bout backups I do recall a lot of roms do have the folders set where they're migrated to the existing filesystem.
true, CWM backups are img files
Very nice idea for a program. Is it limited to only roms for our device or literally any CWM flashable zips?
it works on all actually, but i only have HTC phones, so others arent much supported in the apk department, simply because i cant check them

"People" is the display name of contacts - there is no people.apk.
If you use Google to store your contacts, then you'll need Google contact sync. If you have a Google account, then you need Google account manager. But I'm guessing that that it's already installed or you wouldn't be able to access Play store.
TB does not backup system apps, only their data. You will need to manually copy the contact apks. Then, on your ROM where you don't have people, copy the apks to /system/data, boot into recovery and wipe cache and Dalvik, and reboot. You should have people back again.

Certain apps can't read from Sdcard after kitkat update?

Note that I'm not referring to the write issues which I'm well aware of.
But it seems that the new kitkat file picker can't detect my SD card at all, even when 'show advanced devices' is enabled.
For example, in VLC and Adobe reader , the library no longer shows my SD card.
Same goes for Quickoffice : the file picker only let's me select from my internal storage.
Samsung apps as well as power amp and music apps seem to work fine though.
Does anyone else experience this too? It really blows as my 64gb card is now a paperweight...
I had the same problem, take a look at this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617921

Does that make the external SD card show in apps that use the File Picker as well? I'm currently unrooted and I don't wish to root unless I'm sure it'll be solved. I don't need the write access which the hack was supposed to enable.

My problem was that Calibre could not write to the ExtSdCard.. I was also not so keen to root, but I thought I give it a go:
I can't give a page, but search for: "root-i9505xxufnb8-android-442-kitkat" and it wend smoot. After that I change the xml and the problem with Calibre was solved. So conclusion: I don't know or that was the same problem, but now the Apps can write to the extsdcard again.

[Q] Cannot Restore TWRP backup

Before anyone accuses me of not doing a search, I have scoured the internet for a solution but I cannot find it.
So I used TWRP to backup my phone and then installed an Android L preview ROM (Fair enough, right?). Obviously the backup size is massive so I moved it to my computer (Also pretty standard).
I wanted to use my original backup again so I moved the file into TWRP\BACKUP and booted up TWRP. Nothing showed up in the restore menu and when I tried to manually install the .zip it said "Cannot open zip". I've rezipped it, I've tried cwm, I've disabled the md5 thing and disabled the zip signing thing.
What do?
Are you sure you put the zip in the right folder? It should be
TWRP/BACKUPS/yourserialnumber/

If not, I would reflash the Android L ROM just to get into the setting menu and retrieve the serial number to try what was suggested above.

Good shout.
Also, I just thought. Shouldn't TWRP backups have the .win extension not .zip? You mentioned you tried rezipping the backup?
I remember changing the .win backup extension to .tar to extract and view contents. Check the extension of your backup and use one you have not 'rezipped' if you have that copy.
Please note you cannot flash a raw backup as a zip. You have to restore it with TWRP.

Turns out it was "backups" not "backup". So now it's saying "no partitions selected for restore." So you've solved my issue but now I've got another for you.
