[Q] S-ViewCover scren don't turn off - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there;
I upgraded my i9505 to official 4.3 and i'm observing that the s-viewcover when closed, dim the screen and turn to clock and date as it should, but the screen actually never goes completely off.
It's stays permanently on, like a dock or some like this.
Any clues? Is that correct?
Thanks in advance

XDA Neo: Turning on randomly

Hi there! Anyone with the same problem?
Since the first day, I'm observing a strange behavior of my Prohpet. It turns on, without being touched. Even when I turn him off (black screen).
It's doing that right now, lying on the table next to me. When it turned on, the background light turns on once in a while!
Seems like it has its own life...

[Q] Auto-dimming bug

Great phone but, it appears to be a bug with the screen dimming.
Regarding settings, I have everything turned off. Adapt display is off. Auto-brightness is off. Auto-adjust screen tone is off also.
I know Samsung displays dim if the phone overheats but my phone will auto-dim even if the phone is cool.
What I've found out is that the phone will only dim "permanently" when the screen is about to shut off.
For example: Set the screen shut off to 30 seconds and around the 28 second mark, the screen will dim for a couple of seconds before it shuts off. This is where the auto-dimming will "permanently" kick in. When the screen dims at the 28 second mark for a second, i'll touch the screen so it doesn't shut off. But by this time, the screen has dimmed already and won't go back to the regular brightness. I have to lock and unlock the phone for the dimmed screen to go away.
This scenario has happened every single time. Extremely annoying.
Anyone else experience this?

Yes, same here. It happens alot. Not every single time, but alot of the times.
Try this...
Hi
As the other user said it might be the software bug.
Please try this app. Disable your auto brightness and install this software https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vitocassisi.luxlite
This lite version is free. Try this. If everything works, you may consider the paid version to support the dev guy...

[Problem] Screen flashes bright on touch

Hello everybody,
I have this problem since few months:
Sometimes out of nowhere the screen starts flashing (like turning up brightness to 100%) for a split second when I touch it. After a while it stops. I have no idea where it comes from or how to replicate it. Sometimes restarting the device helps, sometimes not.
Automatic brightness is turned off.
Can anyone think of the origin of this problem or how to solve it?
It is a A2017G and on 7.1.1 with A2017GV1.2.0B05 but was the same with the last update (B04?).
Anything I could think of would be SystemUI Tuner, but I only use it to hide the NFC icon.
Thanks!

Galaxy J7 2017 black screen

Hi everyone, my wife has this phone and she dropped it off the table. On first the screen started to dim like lowering the back light, then stripes have appeared on screen and after that it turned black. Screen turned on again, dimmed again and turn black again and thats it. Later when I tried to turn it on nothing happens not even a turning on sound. It only start to vibrate every 5-10 seconds for a quite time. I wanted to order a new display but now I'm not sure is it display broken or there is something wrong with system or firmware.
Any experience with this behaviour and any advice what could it be and how to fix it?
Cheers
