Hi guys,
Yesterday i rooted my S4 4G.
My phone is from Europe, and i used a root for T-Mobile.
I know, i was dumb, didnĀ“t read the entire topic...
Now my phone is rooted but my Wifi don't switch, it stays always off :crying::crying::crying:
The other features is working normaly, including bluetooth.
What can i do to fix this?
TY!
GD
It seems you need to do a factory reset and then try back the right rooting procedure, anyway this forum is for S4 active which is not a regular S4, so go to the right forum and you'll find better answers.

I know I've only just joined, but I have a few questions.
I own the GT-I9300 UK Samsung Galaxy SIII Unlocked mobile phone
it's unlocked however I'm currently running a Orange sim.
I recently rooted and then followed the instructions to rom my phone.
however I'm starting to regret it. I un-rooted it, back to the 4.1.1 firmware.
However I'm not sure if it's just me, or I've done something wrong because
the app icons/main menu screen, all seem not to fit the size of the phone.
Can anyone help? am I missing something?. also their used to be a little headset green icon
on one of the tabs, which said MONO. but that's no longer there .
Thanks

wrong forum, use WIKI and XDA search to locate your correct forum and ask there
My wife and I likely upgrading our phone's in the next week, maybe sooner. Getting her an S4, and myself likely the Note II.
I was wondering that if I had the phones mailed me, etc. Can I root the device before it is activated?
I don't see why not so long as you remain on a stock ROM

Personally i would get them activated first then root just in case you ran into any problems.
I would wait. Sometimes activation forces a hard reset (especially if you call Sprint when hands-free won't work) and therefore you'd be starting from scratch all over again.

Ok, thanks guys,
I just didn't know if it would matter or benefit to root first before activation. So I guess I'll just active them first and then root.
Any recommended Rom's for the Spring S4?

Ok, guys.. Looks like 4G may finally be rolling out in the buffalo ny area, so likely upgrading the wife to the S4 tonight, and myself likely the Note II.
Its been a while since I had to root anything. So can anyone provide any tips or howto's to rooting the S4 and then installing Sac's rom?

I would suggest waiting until activated to root. Sprint has the S4 set up to hard reset upon activation.
Rooting guide is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257101
Most ROMs will have a how-to-install in the OP of the thread. There are a lot of good dev ROMs out there, but I'm personally running stock rooted. Stock is so good I really don't have the urge to flash a ROM to make things better.
Hi everybody.
I have the feeling that our S4 has a very weak Wi-Fi. My other phone is a zopo 950+ and while this device still gets a signal, the S4 already lost it or can not even find it.
I have searched on xda, but couldn't find anything.
In ARHD thread there is a WiFi fix, but since I am still on rooted stock ROM I am not sure about that.
Is there anything what I can do about it?

Well I am very satisfied with wifi maybe you should put router to G network instead of B
Is a long shot but.

Well guys, here I am with major thoughts of dumping my Note 3 and ending my short couple of month love affair with it.
I just feel that this device underachieved for me. My major beef with it is the poor wifi and overall network performance of the phone with no fix in sight. I can't stand the instability of the wifi performance. I also hate the speaker on this thing.
I also am disappointed with the community. I don't know what it is, but this community doesn't seem very active or have big numbers. I understand maybe a lot of people shy away because of the locked bootloader and such, but it just seems like low activity here.
With that being said, not all hope is lost. I still like this phone overall. I got in on the Cyber Monday deal for a $350 Moto X. I am making my decision easy for myself. If I like the Moto X, I am keeping it and dumping my Note 3. If I don't, I will keep my Note 3 for a little while longer.
And I understand that these phones are on opposite sides of the spectrum. But something intrigues me about the Moto X.
Ultimately I know that nobody probably cares. And that's cool, you can simply ignore this thread. But for anyone else, I would like to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!

I wouldn't put up with that, either. But my N3's WiFi and 4G connections have been excellent. Have you tried exchanging your phone?
I'd love to dump mine also .. having all the same issues in regards to the WiFi and network connectivity. Problem I have, I rooted mine and now I get that B/S "Custom" boot .. I've read through everything up here in regards to getting rid of that boot screen and so far NOTHING has worked. So right now, unless I find a way to hard brick my phone, I'm stuck with this damn thing.

What ROM are you using? My T-Mobile note 3 using att has excellent 4g LTE coverage but when I had T-Mobile coverage at first it sucked! I'm talking bad!! Barely any data connection if any and dropped a lot of calls. As far as WiFi I get excellent coverage also. Don't give up on your note 3 just yet. Just give up on t mobile!! If you use Chainfire's region unlock app from play store and switch to an att carrier, (like net 10 or Straight talk $45 a month) you'll be good to go.

I had the same issues with my previous one. I'm on at&t and I've seen threads about the same issues that I'm having. It seems pretty common.

Why not just sell it and get something else? The Note 3 is still going for decent money on Swappa and most people prefer to buy rooted phones on there.

Can you restore on mj5 after rooting with Kingo? I read you can use Kingos "unroot" then factory reset, but I dunno.
Probably best to use the the already established thread for this this type discussion. ..

Honestly, you should do it yourself. It's not to difficult, just read everything 3 times first, then follow directions carefully. If you want to change things later, you will have already gained the knowledge needed. Now is the perfect time cause of the recall, if you hose it up they are still taking them back no questions asked. I would practice on a recall phone first , so you have no worries.

I bought my phone off eBay and not sure how that would affect me getting a replacement device. Not sure of the correct files to use as it's the 930fd. I use a straight talk SIM it it but I know the signal from straight talk comes of the att towers. I've seen some ppl say they have down it and some say they haven't kinda not sure at this point.
