Hei guys ! I have a question. I know that if you unlock your bootloader,
the device gets hard reset(most of the times). My question is: If i lock my bootloader back, will the hard reset happen again? I mean, does the locking/unlocking of the bootloader reset the phone?
Sorry if ti's a noob question..
As far as I know only when it gets unlocked then the device gets factory reset.
If you download the app TricksterMod and get the paid version you can lock and unlock the bootloader on the fly in the phone without having to use fastboot and no factory reset. Don't know of there is a free app that can do this as well.
Even if the bootloader is locked, if you have a custom recovery it is still possible to install kernels.

I was wondering,
what does the bootloader display when you relock it using the fast boot lock command.
Does it say relocked or locked?
Thanks,

It just says locked, just done it with mine
So does that mean that you can restore to complete factory settings and get warranty back?

Yeah, returned mine a few days ago to Tesco UK.
I used Wug's rooting toolkit, but it's your choice what you use. It downloads and flashes the stock image for you, so there is no evidence of root.
Then you use to Lock OEM feature, to re lock the boot loader. They will never know that you unlocked it
how i can to know ?
thank you.
you mean unlocked bootloader. youll know when you unlock it. first, it says unlocked in the bootloader. second, youll notice the unlocked padlock under the google logo when booting up.

Are you maybe trying to ask how to know if your bootloader is unlocked and you have custom recovery installed?
If your bootloader is unlocked, then when you turn the tablet on, at the point where Google logo appears, there's unlocked lock displayed on the bottom. You cannot miss it, sou if you don't see it asap, your bootloader is most probably locked.
Other then that, you can download Nexus Root Toolkit (search here on forum; its a PC program, not android app), and try to root. If you fail, your bootloader is locked.
And if you haven't been tinkering around with the bootloader, it's probably still locked.
Thank you.

Just reinstall your rom !!
Because you said that the boot loader is unlocked and rooted so i presum you have a custom recovery installed
Because it will not wipe your personal data on storage
Hi, I want to encrypt my phone, according to the research I studied, the bootloader should be locked.
Anyway, I am running a custom rom and already voided my knox a long time ago, this is fine.
My question is can I still use fastboot with my s4 (i9506) to do an oem lock ?
I tried fastboot in odin download mode, but no matter what I do it wont detect my s4 device. Adb commands worked fine but no fastboot.
I'm really confused whether Samsung devices even support fastboot, or is knox just a complete replacement for bootloader locking ? Is there still a software lock I can enable ? Even though I know it came factory bootloader unlocked.
Super confusing and hard to find clear research on this ... help
Bootloaders either come factory locked or not locked at all. And I don't think you can lock the bootloader of a device that has it factory unlocked.
Samsung devices do not have fastboot. Samsung replaced it with Download Mode.

Thanks, it would be nice to get a definite answer on this ...
The bootloader was never locked on any s4 except for the AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint versions. If the bootloader was locked, TWRP and CWM could not be flashed to the phone unless the bootloader could somehow be unlocked.

Hi. I gonna try to help you. So if you "deleted" the root, the bootloader should be still unlocked. If not, on my Phone unlocking Bootloader did not erase my Data (watch RootJunkie)
Have a nice day!
how ??

No he has made an p8 vid too (sry for late response)
Hi, in the comments of his video on the bootloader unlock he says that it does require a factory reset.
Is there another video where he talks about that?
Mohammad did you manage to unlock the bootloader without the reset?
thanks

I unlocked my bootloader. It did not reset my phone or erase data. However on nexus and htc phone once you unlock the bootloader the phone factory reset itself. This is not true for Huawei. However if you update your phone via SD card after the bootloader is unlocked your phone will factory reset itself.
