Hi all,
Not sure whether anyone having similar issue.
I owned a SM-N9005 and I've followed the guides from http://galaxynote3root.com/galaxy-note-3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-3/ to attempt to root my phone.
1. Downloaded n9005-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.4(1011).tar, odin3 v1.85, UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip & Samsung USB Driver.
2. Installed Samsung USB Driver. (Win 7)
3. Ensure phone "Unknown sources" & "USB Debugging" enabled.
4. Put phone to Download Mode (Volume Down + Home + Power)
5. Connect phone to system, start Odin, and install CWM (Shows green PASS sign without failure)
6. Phone rebooted, and try access CWM (Volume Up + Home + Power)
7. Issue (No CWM shown, instead, seems like the stock recovery with an Android showing "No Command" in the middle of the screen)
Something went wrong? My phone still managed to boot normally and I've tried the 2nd flash of CWM and similar case.

If you have ics 4.0.4 not 4.0.3 so your problem might be that a script rewrites the stock recovery again so flash cwm via odin in download mode when pass then go to recovery manual after disconnection of computer via volume up+power then flash root in cwm

Please use the proper punctuation. For a couple weeks now I've been trying to understand what you post. Its hard for people to read it when sentence runs into sentence.

I had the same problem, because I had already taken the 4.0.4 update. The problem I (and I suspect the others) were having is the reboot after Odin installs the CWM. It happens so fast, there's no time to unplug the tablet and do the button dance to boot into recovery. As a result, the normal boot goes through, and runs the install-recovery.sh that Ryan79 mentioned in system/etc, restoring stock recovery.
Here's how I solved it: On Odin, uncheck "Auto Reboot". Install CWM6. When it goes green, unplug the tablet (still in "download" screen). Reboot manually into recovery (hold power + Vol. left, release power, hold vol. left until CWM screen comes up). I did this straight from the "download" screen. The tablet powered off after a few seconds of holding the power button, then came up to the samsung screen, then I released the power button and continued to hold the volume button until CWM6 loaded. I installed the cwm-root-gtab2.zip file. I selected YES
when the "Stock Reboot Fix" question appeared. Rebooted from recovery, Successful root! Looks to me like the "fix" simply renames the install-recovery.sh, removing the ".sh" at the end. I have now rebooted a couple of times normally, and can still access CWM6 through the buttons.

Hello,
I recently unlocked, rooted, and CWM (Recovery) my Nexus 7 and everything seemed fine with a custom rom installed aswell.
Just now I edited mymedia_profiles.xml for 720p video mod and rebooted device now stuck at google screen. Even in bootloader when I select recovery it goes strright to google screen and stays stuck.
How do I fix this
If u can't get into recovery u could flash the nexus 7 stock image

when in the boot loader, plug in via USB then press recovery.
if the above does not work try this toolkit. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809195

Thanks all for help sorted it out.
Re flashed the custom recovery using adb fastboot (Google Nexus 7 Toolkit) all fine now but strange that recovery failed.
After editing a xml file
Its a bug with the 7’s bootloader. You can't get into recovery directly from the bootloader without having the USB plugged into a computer or you can just select reboot into recovery from the power menu on PA or any CM based rom. There are a couple of apps that allow you to reboot into recovery as well like rom manager and rom toolbox... The modified XML file had nothing to do with it.
Hello everyone,
I just installed TWRP via goomanager and when i use "reboot recovery" in goo manager menu: TWRP works fine.
But when i use ROM toolbox lite for reboot into bootloader then i chose simply "Start" or "Recovery mode" i'm also stuck at google logo...
I don't understand one thing, we only can enter into bootloader mode with an android app, we can't do that when we power on the tablet for the first time?
Sorry for my approximate english.
Yes that is correct. Its a bug with the boot loader. You can plug the 7 into a computer USB and it will let you into recovery from the boot loader. This WILL NOT work with a charger though... I know it sucks. Hopefully Google will fix it in future updates.

Hi i am new to the android as i just got my first android phone the s4. i have done resaerch and flashed my phone with this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2308663
The flashing of the rom went smooth and everything works exept wifi.. so i want to revert to my stock rom i backed up to get wifi back but i cannot boot in to recovery twrp or cwrm. when i press boot into recovery via goomanger or rom manager it reboots says it is entering recovery but then reboots before it goes into recovery mode and boots into the os. i have tried uninstalling/ reinstalling twrp and cwrm but still nothing. i am desperite to get my wifi back any insight would be great! thanks
Are you familiar with adb commands? In your OS with USB debugging enabled you can issue the command "adb reboot recovery" from the command line and it'll get you there.
That is, if you're familiar with adb commands. Otherwise there is a key combination that will get you there. I'm too new to samsung to remember it but it involves the home button, power and volume key up or down. Search the forum I'm sure it'll be here somewhere

Use the key combo:
Cycle the battery
Hold Vol-Up and Home, then Power
Release Power when it vibrates continuing to hold Vol-Up and Home
If the recovery is truly gone, use Goo Manager to restore TWRP

Thanks for the help but i not to sure about the adb commands and no matter what way i try to reboot into recovery it just restarts into the os after it goes to the samsung screen and says recovery booting in the top left
i have tried that and it says booting reocvery... then restarts it self and reboots into the os i have both twrp and cwm installed. who ever knew trying to restore to stock firmware could be so complicated lol not sure what is going on with my phone. everything works with the rom i installed exept wifi.

Re-download the zip file and check the md5. It could have been a bad download. It happens more than you would think. Then try Odin again.
Hi guys,
Yesterday, I was trying to root my 4.3 nexus 4 using the following link http://www.androidrootz.com/2012/11/how-to-root-nexus-4-on-windows.html
I followed all the steps in this tutorial and, I don't why, on bootloader mode after choosing "reboot the system now", the screen remained on the X screen. I tried everything that was said on the tutorial if I had a X screen, but nothing works. Moreover, everytime I tried to turn it off the phone turned back on and remained stuck on that damn X screen again. So what should I do? Is it hopeless? Is it fixable?
Your phone came into a bootloop, for fixing this problem: download the wugfresh toolkit (link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015469) and after a full drive installation use the option "Flash stock + unroot" and tick the option "Soft-bricked/Bootloop".
For root your device again at the end of the previous process use the option "Root" and tick "and also flash a custom recovery".

or just download factory images, and run fast-all.bat. no need to install anything.
hey guys, I'm trying to flash a clean rom (kitkat google edition) on my S4 LTE, the problem is I'm failing to install the cwm or any other recovery! I search some threads, tried different recoveries, different odin versions, and everything is flashing fine, but after the install via odin, it reboots, and no recovery! still the old e3 one! Im not a complete newb (I hope x)), did flash my SE X10, my Atrix 2, but failing this one.... mb its the firmware I need to change or the boot loader? android version is 4.3, if u need any details I can provide just ask ^^
I used these steps:
Steps to Install CWM Recovery on Galaxy S4 (LTE+) I9506
Step 1: Extract the Odin 3.07 .zip file using WinRAR/7-Zip/WinZip or any other extracting tool.
Step 2: Copy the Root Package .zip file to the SD card of your phone.
Step 3: Switch off the Galaxy S4. Then boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on screen. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 4: Run Odin on the computer as an Administrator.
Step 5: Connect the Galaxy S4 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn to light blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.
Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try re-install USB drivers or changing the port on the computer.
Step 6: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the CWM/PhilZ Touch .tar file. Verify that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected. Also, ensure the Re-Partition option is NOT selected.
Step 7: Double-check and click Start button in Odin. The installation process will now begin.
Step 8: Once the installation process completes, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect it from the computer.
thx for the help)

makes no sence, there is a recovery for i9506, 3 actually, and no, I didn't. after odin succesfully applies the recovery (so it says), it is auto rebooting NOT into the new recovery, but into the android system. after manually rebooting, the old recovery boots up. there are tons videos and guides how to root 9506, the thing is I stuck after the odin flash, with the old recovery

That's simple. All you do is ucheck auto reboot in odin on pc, when flashing custom recovery is complete from odin pc unplug it then long press power button until it switches off then press vol up home and power and boot to recovery and disable recovery flash
