Is there a way to make the soft keys at the bottom of the display transparent?

Only when using the stock launcher, and only on the home screen. The setting is under Display.

I should have been more clear. Sorry. Would it be possible to modify the build.pop file to make the softkeys always transparent and smaller.

My old GNex had transparent navigation bar for the last year with AOKP rom.
So...is it possible? Absolutely.
I don't code so I can't comment as to what it would take...

I'm interested in getting rid of them altogether in order to use PIE instead!
Anyone?

I'm not sure but I think some custom ROMs include this.
It's been a while since I used those ROMs but I think parandroid includes that feature

AOKP offers this option.

Really trying to stay with the rom I'm on. I was able to change the soft keys manually and was hoping there would also be a manual way to do this.

Sorry.. Maybe you should be asking this in your ROM thread.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yes there is but only in the settings like baked6.zip in ROM control under navbar settings scroll down till you see transparency you should try that ROM its awesome check out team baked for the latest rom

I'm on CleanROM and would like to stick with it. There has to be a manual way to do it. :banghead:

It works as advertised. Honestly I wish I could keep the constant sift keys and just shrink them down a little.

I tried this app out and didn't like that I had to have the recent apps button so I uninstalled it. Now my status bar is stuck at 50% transparency. Any fix other than build prop?

So this app replaces the menu button with a recent apps button?
I mentioned this in my root thread, when someone asked what I used to hide my soft keys lol. LMT is also another alternative.

I used option 2. The I've with the nexus 4. I have restored the lmt backup with titanium backup for the last 2 phones I've owned and I haven't had to switch it off of that option.

The screen is 1080p, so theoretically, any of the 1080p versions in this thread should work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2511282
I'm running XDA-Origins on my G2. The back button isn't really visible on one of the screens, I just fished around in the bottom left corner until it went backwards on the menu.
check out holofied theme.. you can download the 1080p version from htc one forums

Dont worry i cant either. Followed directions correctly. Reboot. No changes whatsoever!!
Haha, I couldn't at first, but if you created a theme folder, delete it, just keep the zip the original name not ui, go into recovery and flash, that is how i got mine to working, you might have to press advance then reload theme once.

Old thread but figured I'd ask here. I can't get the nav bar to go completely transparent. It is "brighter" than the rest if the wallpaper. Malladus 1.2.6, G2 Exposed and Nova Prime. What settings in G2 Xposed is everyone using?

Glad I could help.
G2 TweaksBox will also give you transparency with all launchers.
G2 XPosed does work a little better though.
