Hey guys,
I asked a friend to buy for me a note 3 N9005 from Saudi Arabia and i wonder if the device has the sticker of region locking because i live in Tunisia.
I did several research and i didn't find out if it's locked or no.
Peace

Yeah if your friend bought it from Saudia then it sure was region locked as I also bought my Note 3 SM-N9005 from Saudia as well. It is restricted to be used within the Arab countries.
Once you install a sim card from the allowed regions mentioned in the sticker while activating your phone the first time then it automatically disables the region lock and later you can use it anywhere in the world. I'll show you a pic of the sticker that was attached on my Note 3 bought from Jeddah. I hope it helps...

My friend has bought for me Galaxy Note 3 N900 from Jiddah, there was no any sticker on it, so it should not be locked. But when I got it and put my local SIM card, it occurred locked. Now I cannot find any unlocking company, who can provide me with unlock code. Samsung Arabia does not respond my requests. Phone is waiting for unlock code
try this c if it helps

I read in several threads that this method is not working, and the phone will be locked as soon as you use a different region sim card
Mine had no sticker, so it was not activate with Saudi Sim card. I opened box, put my Sim and turned on. It was immediately locked. I tried almost all third part unlockers, all of them failed. Now I dont know what do do. I had more than 50 different mobile phones. Now I have 4 Samsing smartphones, i.e. Note 3, S4, Note 2, Galaxy Win, Galaxy Gear. If was first time I was deceived and upset by Samsung. I think I will refuse buying all Samsung equipment. Planned to buy Samsing TV for 2000 usd, but decided never buy Samsung. Will buy LG smart tv and future phone will be LG or Nexus. Shame to Samsung

I read that rooting first then chainfire region unlock app method is working
i have rooted and tried Chainfire Regional Unlock, but this program only for N9005 version, so did not help me. I did it several time, nothing. I even wrote an email to Chainfire to upgrade his program to unlock N900 as well, but probably it is not interesting for Chainfire, so no response at all
Please, anyone, provide me with link to KSA CSC: N900OJVBMI1. I must download and flash it via Odin. It is very important, please, help
You can download the KSA firmware from the following website:

Select "SM900" from the list of models and choose KSA in the country and finally hit "check firmware". Then it will display your desired firmware. Be sure to register to the website first to download the firmware.

Unlocked. All that you need to ask your local Samsung authorised dealer to provide you with unlock code.

Most likely locked to 3 Ireland but If you can get it unlocked (which will probably be very soon on here) this is the best price ive seen anywhere at all for purchasing the phone outright, £499.95 on Amazon, Carphone Warehouse UK,etc which comes to €627
available from tomorrow, im sure they will post to UK only across the water

Probably best to post in the dedicated thread rather than pointlessly opening a new one.

Hi!
My friend has a Galaxy S4 I9505 and he broke his Sim holder because he pulled the sim card very hard. .
Where can he buy a new sim holder online ?
And doesn't matter if it was for 9500 or 9505 ?
No parts were found in my country yet due to late launch here in Saudi Arabia and he bought it from online website (clove . Co . Uk ) ...
Please can you help ?
Try ebay mate.. and no, i don't think you can use same tray.. don't forget your best friend, Google

It's the same no matter what model it is , and you need service for that. Try to find an authorized samsung service and your problem will be solved

I agree, it wouldnt cost too much to have it replaced I believe. Better leave it to Samsung techs.
Hi
I live in Malta (Europe), and need a good dual sim active phone.
The only option there seems to be is buying the samsung galaxy s4 dual sim from this seller etotalk.
I would like to query whether anyone has bought this phone from this seller and their experience.
Thanks
Ken

HI thanks for the info
Yet you use it in europe - and did you buy it with a custom rom pre-installed?
Ken
Got one from Etotalk.com; very happy with it and all is genuine!

Me too. Had it rooted and have their custom rom installed. Have some minor issues with the rom but nothing serious.

A week or so ago I also bought a GT-I9502 from etotalk and got a very good impression of them considering the natural obstacles of sending stuff from China, customs, paying with Paypal etc. Got the phone just after a few days, sent by DHL.
You can ask them to send it as a "gift", declaring a lower than actual value of your choice, which might make things slip through customs easier/cheaper/less VAT slapped on.
Bought it in stock version and rooted/ROMed it myself, using this procedure and with SVA's excellent ROM that you buy for a few $.
In certain (most?) countries the GT-I9502 doesn't show CallerID properly as the phone's software platform is made for China, but I've done a patch for that, see this post.
Hi, if I were to buy a note 3 from dubai would it be sim restricted just to asia, like europe note 3's? Thanks

Dont think anyone has a clue yet. In Oman, trying to get some bloody info from whatever source I can. The local vendors have no clue either. Is the S800 (n9005) version available in Dubai? (market or online)
Samsung have done a 'Nexus 4 launch style cluster****' on this one.
Does truly nobody know that Samsung has been putting Region Locks in their firmware for months? I assumed it was fairly common knowledge.
i just played with note 3 in Jumbo Electronics, i couldn't see anything written on box like European version.

The people on SamMobile know about it. The S4 has it too. It's nothing new. No, your note 2 doesn't have it, yet. Because it hasn't been updated.

My brother has a new unlocked T-Mobile Note 4 N9100 UK version and says everything works well except for screen mirroring. When he presses the mirroring button it just turns on then off. His girlfriend's S4 mirroring works fine on the same TV. Troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
After researching I think my brother's SM-N9100 might be counterfeit for the following reasons:
1.) Brother's N9100 is single SIM instead of dual SIM according to specs
2.) CPU Z app shows only 2 cores instead of 4.
3.) screen mirroring not working
Brother says phone is less responsive than expected.
About Phone OS = 5.0 (Lollipop) but CPU Z says 4.4.4 OS
N9100 Firmware/Baseband = N9100xxU1ANIF
(XX = Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom)
Rooted, but no Superuser or SuperSU app ??
However, I think he might get Screen Mirroring working by adding "wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable" to /system/build.prop as suggested elsewhere.
I really need to take a look at his phone personally, which I have not.

Thanks for your reply darekz. I installed the Samsung Phone INFO app on my legit Samsung T989 and emailed your link to my brother. The app worked as expected and confirmed that my phone was legit via the serial number. The app needed root access, which I granted. Very nice.
My brother did more research and confirmed his Note 4 was indeed a clone. He sold it yesterday on Craigslist (where he bought it) to a buyer who knew it was a clone and bought it for much less than the asking price. However, my brother was glad to get rid of it with a clear conscience.
