Dont think anyone has a clue yet. In Oman, trying to get some bloody info from whatever source I can. The local vendors have no clue either. Is the S800 (n9005) version available in Dubai? (market or online)
Samsung have done a 'Nexus 4 launch style cluster****' on this one.

Does truly nobody know that Samsung has been putting Region Locks in their firmware for months? I assumed it was fairly common knowledge.

i just played with note 3 in Jumbo Electronics, i couldn't see anything written on box like European version.

The people on SamMobile know about it. The S4 has it too. It's nothing new. No, your note 2 doesn't have it, yet. Because it hasn't been updated.

Galaxy note 3 Region lock in KSA

Hey guys,
I asked a friend to buy for me a note 3 N9005 from Saudi Arabia and i wonder if the device has the sticker of region locking because i live in Tunisia.
I did several research and i didn't find out if it's locked or no.
Peace

Yeah if your friend bought it from Saudia then it sure was region locked as I also bought my Note 3 SM-N9005 from Saudia as well. It is restricted to be used within the Arab countries.
Once you install a sim card from the allowed regions mentioned in the sticker while activating your phone the first time then it automatically disables the region lock and later you can use it anywhere in the world. I'll show you a pic of the sticker that was attached on my Note 3 bought from Jeddah. I hope it helps...

My friend has bought for me Galaxy Note 3 N900 from Jiddah, there was no any sticker on it, so it should not be locked. But when I got it and put my local SIM card, it occurred locked. Now I cannot find any unlocking company, who can provide me with unlock code. Samsung Arabia does not respond my requests. Phone is waiting for unlock code
try this c if it helps

I read in several threads that this method is not working, and the phone will be locked as soon as you use a different region sim card
Mine had no sticker, so it was not activate with Saudi Sim card. I opened box, put my Sim and turned on. It was immediately locked. I tried almost all third part unlockers, all of them failed. Now I dont know what do do. I had more than 50 different mobile phones. Now I have 4 Samsing smartphones, i.e. Note 3, S4, Note 2, Galaxy Win, Galaxy Gear. If was first time I was deceived and upset by Samsung. I think I will refuse buying all Samsung equipment. Planned to buy Samsing TV for 2000 usd, but decided never buy Samsung. Will buy LG smart tv and future phone will be LG or Nexus. Shame to Samsung

I read that rooting first then chainfire region unlock app method is working
i have rooted and tried Chainfire Regional Unlock, but this program only for N9005 version, so did not help me. I did it several time, nothing. I even wrote an email to Chainfire to upgrade his program to unlock N900 as well, but probably it is not interesting for Chainfire, so no response at all
Please, anyone, provide me with link to KSA CSC: N900OJVBMI1. I must download and flash it via Odin. It is very important, please, help

Hi guys I wanted to exchange my lg optimus 3d, and I found a willing person that my proposed a samsung note n9006 sm-3, coming from Korea, with an adjustment for her 50 Euros. I searched on the site of the samsung china, and the model sm-n9006 is reported, but I have not found within the European Roma moddate.
How about an exchange is in my favor or do you think the samsung is a clone?

It came in like this. A lot of similar issues like that in HK.
Please note that in HK, we order directly from xiaomi and they mail that crap directly to us.

I want to purchase a phone from UAE(dubai) for use in India. Will it work in India?

The model number shown on the webpage of the retailer is SM-G935FTKDXSG. Will this phone work in India with respect to making calls and also LTE bands for 4G? How do I find out if its unlocked or not? Will VoLTE, Samsung pay work in India? Also, for warranty, is there some way to get Indian warranty?

This phone will work in India with respect to making calls and LTE connection. But VoLTE will not work. Not sure about Samsung Pay because I don't use it.
Also, nothing can be done about the warranty.

Thanks for the reply! Where did you get the phone from, and for what price? Where would you recommend I but it from? Also, are you aware of any other features being different between this phone from dubai and the one in India? Have you faced any problems with the phone till now? And, does the phone have warranty inside UAE or not?
Thanks for the help!

I got the phone from the website souq.com for a pretty low price compared to the market price. Most shops in Dubai usually just increase the price for no reason.
My phone also came with one year warranty (Only in UAE).
My phone is almost 6 months old and I've had no problems at all with the phone. Really happy with it.
Yes you can use it with voLTE and SPay. Just flash Indian firmware on the firmware and you're good to go.

No, there is not a difference. I think it's around 1800 there and for that money it's so value for money. Nothing gets better than this phone at that price. Myself using a UAE phone. Get this model 935FD dual sim version.
And, don't get from souq. Not heard good opinion about them from people who live there.

I bought my Nexus 5 from there and used it for 4 years without any issues. Then I bought my S7 edge from there 6 months ago and it has no issues.
My brother bought his LG G3 from there and used it for 4 years without any issues. He bought his LG G5 recently (around the same time I got my S7 edge) and he has no issues with his device whatsoever.
All these devices from souq.com
The site is good as long as you buy from a good dealer. Since anyone can setup a shop on the site, there might be some people trying to sell bad stuff. Just buy from the trusted dealers and you'll be fine.
I don't think Samsung issues international warranty. My home appliances are Samsung branded which doesn't have and one more using the firmware of UAE Volte will definitely not work unless you flash indian package on your mobile that's why I said no.

Exynos s8 working in us?

Alright this may be kind of a dumb question and I apologise if it's not in the correct spot/has already been answered but I currently have a oneplus 5t and I want to move to the s9 when it comes out. I am a huge themer and I love to root/unlock bootloader/install custom roms. Based on what I read it seems that exynos version of Galaxy phones are a lot easier to tinker with compared to snapdragon. Id assume if the s8 exynos works in the US so will the s9. Can anyone confirm this or let me know? I have at&t. Thank you.
Yes, it should work. I don't think I heard anyone mention the opposite. So it should work without any issues.
I have an Exynos Galaxy S8 Duos (SM-G950FD) and I use it with T-Mobile here in Arizona. I haven't had any problems with carrier compatibility, 4G/4G+ works like a charm.
Thanks guys!
I went from 6P, to Pixel XL, to SM-G955F(S8+) on T-Mobile here in Idaho. The signal is great, and I dont have any problems. The S8 is much easier to flash stuff on and modify than the Pixel was, and its working fine here in Idaho. I made the move to Samsung in September.

Is yours the international version? Or does it have exynos processor? Sorry I don't know the model numbers. Is exynos generally easier to root and unlock bootloader for compared to snapdragon?
Mine is international, purchased from Clove in the UK. Exynos is best if you want to do any modding on your phone. Root, flashing, etc. are all very simple with Exynos. To my knowledge the Snapdragon variants cannot be bootloader unlocked, so very limited on what you can do.

Yikes. And do I have to pay for a region unlock or??? Idk how that all works.
I think the only thing lacking on the Exynos S8 is Band 30 which probably doesn't really matter for most people, as it's so new and of limited deployment/use.
