The only problem I've had is that the cursor with the loading circle and the regular circle are different sizes, so it looks a bit weird when it's switching between the 2.

I've finished editing the cursors!
Now check the thread again. (from the first please )

Awesome I'll install them later when I get home!
EDIT: I installed them, and they are even better than before. I like the transparency of the cursors, and now they're a bit more transparent. Nice job!

[Tips] gingerbread web bowser optimization (new download tip!)

So I have two tips... (edit 3 tips)
first is to set your plugins to on demand (menu/more/settings/enable plugins) currently adobe flash (until update) is not optimized for gingerbread and if you are experiencing any lag in the browser it is caused by this
second, download apk's and zips from xda (or other websites)
-go to the market and download "linda file manager"
-open it and change "Download Plugin" to (On & Menu)
-thats it...download away
third, change your user agent (useful so you don't have to go to mobile sites)
1-go to google and scroll to the bottom and select view google in "classic"
2-type " about:debug " (without quotations) in the address bar and press go/enter (even though it is in the google search in the picture, search from the address bar)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3-goto menu/more and you will see the new dump options (under settings) if you have done it right, it may take a couple trys...
4-click settings and scroll all the way to the bottom, click uastring
5-choose what you want...
enjoy
Nice write up bro
My phone drops tomorrow, will keep this in mind
You will have to hook me up with your funky theme as well Ogster

it's not an issue if they are still there...gives an easy option if you need to go back to android (gameloft for example)
I could not understand about the 2nd tips:

It is not quite clear to me ...
Thanks for your effort to compile this tips though.
How do I make the about:debug stick?
It seems that the browser defaults back to its original settings after a while which is very annoying.

Great work do you fancy doing this to a keypad key board ?
Such beautiful keyboards..However integration into Rom package fails..On copying into /system/app of the rom and flashing it leads to force close on boot
What exactly are you trying to do, integrate it as stock keyboard for a rom? Is the rom starburst?
if your looking for a particular colour combo for your rom id be happy to make it. problem is im no dev so i wouldnt know how to help integrate

Hi!
Thanks for your work! Could you also try to make a "Gingerbread style" keyboard? Maybe you can use the same graphics and colors? That would be awesome
Thanks dude!
what exactly do you mean? a themed gingerbread keyboard, or a sense themed keyboard that looks like gingerbread?

ADW Launcher EX Question

I am using ADW Launcher EX on my Desire, however, I wondered if there was a way to place icons on the Homescreen(s), but not have them align to the grid?
I would like to put 3 icons on one line of my homescreen, with equal spacing at either side.
I hope this makes sense? Is there anyway to do this?
Very roughly, I want to go from this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

good morning,
I think you can do this job on two ways.
First you can variegate your desktop columns. For example to 5.
Second way is to install the "simi folder widget". With this app you can adjust the size of your icon. This app can be so useful and looks very nice.
I hope I could help you.

But this would Screw up the top column, there would be a gap in there?

I have simi folder widget installed and have been using it, however, I cannot figure out how to resize the size of the icon (I know how to resize the Icons within the folder, but not the actual Widget Icon).
Thanks for the help

I use adw with 10 columns and rows,
[1] unlock desktop,[ 2]longpress homescreen select widgets.[ 3] select DV (1x1)small [4]configure 1c+1r [5]dv on homepage short press to options.[ 6]select icon now image if you want to change the application looks or just select application icon.scroll to app and select.[7] now select action,press launch app.select the app, if you dont want a label select clear.press ok and you now have the icon on homepage in the look you want but very small [8]longpress on icon and press option edit. [9] You now have 4 arrows and you can drag and enlarge to wherever you want. Hope this helps.
PS play around with the dv size options a well.
I know how you feel, Ive been wanting the ability to go "of the grid" ever since i started using android. (My last win mobile rom allowed me the ability to but any icon anywhere on the screen, including half on one screen half on another, stacking icons and so on.)
However I think for your situation the easiest solution would be to just change to 9 or 7 columns as follows
_#_#_#_#_
__#_#_#__
or
#_#_#_#
_#_#_#_
You can keep your equal spacing and have your icons staggered

Cool design idea for Windows 8 Desktop

I love Windows 8 but switching from the wonderful Modern UI Start screen to the standard Desktop - well... how can I put it... there is no consistency. So I decided to make my desktop wallpaper be 'connected' to my Start screen, to keep it all consistent.
Basically, when I enter my desktop, what appears to happen is all my tiles vanish and I am just left just with the background, profile pic/name (top right) and the word 'Start' changes to the word 'Desktop'.
Start Screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Desktop Screen:
This how to recreate it:
1) Either pinch to zoom out to see all your tiles smaller, or if you are using a mouse click on the small minus sign in the lower right corner.
See image below:
2) Press the "PrtScn" button (Print Screen) on you keyboard to take a screen capture of this view. The screen is automatically copied to your clipboard.
3) Open up Photoshop or any other image manipulation software. Create a new file. It should automatically have the correct resolution based on your clipboard. Paste the screen shot into your canvas.
4) Using the Rectangular Marquee Tool, draw a rectangle around the tiles.
5) Using the Eyedropper tool, get the same colour as your background and use a large brush to erase all the tiles.
See image below:
6) Create a new layer and type the word "Desktop" in white colour using Segoe UI font (Semilight) with a font size of 17pt or whatever size is closer to your Start font. This font is very close to the 'Start' font. Move the word Desktop so it exactly covers the word Start and then erase the word Start on the layer below.
7) Flatten image and save to a folder.
8) Apply new wallpaper by right clicking your desktop and choosing Personalize.
Hope you like it!
This is great. Thanks.
Excellent tip. I am so doing this. I hate seeing the old desktop.

I also did this on my Surface. Had to do a screen shot of the Surface and redo the mod as different resolution to my desktop.

Did you know?

Did you know you can turn off magazine app from opening when pressing the home button. There is an option for it ....... when magazine app is open press the menu button, then settings, then select open using the home key, un-check the box.
Well that was simple. Thanks, that stupid thing drove me nuts.
While on the subject, anyone know of any way to add new news sites to my magazine? Ie specific sites and not just a category?
Thanks I hate it too.
That thanks was purely for the sense of humour. He he

Did you know that you can create shortcut icons in the Multi Window panel that will automatically open paired windows of your choice?
If you didn't here's how.
Open the Multi Window panel on the left side of the screen, then open two apps that you use together. Now with both apps on your screen open the Multi Window panel again and look for the up arrow at the bottom of this panel and touch it. A little menu will open, select create. A box will then appear that let's you give it a custom name if you like.
More tips will follow and if you have a tip please feel free to add one.

How can I add Apps to the selection? There are a few apps on the tab but I would like to add apps I use the most. Seems I have tried everything but the right thing.

You have to root it and install Wanam Xposed. That has a setting that lets you pick what apps you want to make available for multi-window.
Multiwindow Plus and Pen Window Manager will also do it, you have to be rooted for both though.
Xposed is easier, free and does lots of other awesome things
