[Q] Bluetooth Tether - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What happened to Bluetooth tethering?
Bluetooth tethering saves a lot of battery life compared to WiFi Hotspot.
Anyone know how to get Bluetooth tethering working on the Note 3?

its there. .unless yr ph has it disabled by yr provider?
Teleported from my SM-N9005 from The Enterprise

It isn't there on the N900w8.
I don't see why they would disable the bluetooth tethering when wifi option is available.

tab connecting to droid smartphone

i have my eris rooted with wireless tethering. can i connect the galaxy tab to the phone somehow?
i turned on the wifi tethering but it creates an ad hoc network, not a hotspot. So, i went to Best Buy and tried to get the Demo tab to find my phone but it wouldnt. I forgot to try the BT tethering instead of the wifi tho.
any thoughts?

Tethering a 101 to an Android Phone

Can anyone help me tether my 101 to an android phone (Orange Sanfrancisco AKA ZTE Blade).
I have rooted the phone and tried a few apps but I cant seem to get it to work.
I'd prefer Bluetooth PAN, but I'd settle with USB or turning the phone into a wifi hotspot (Infrastructure mode).
Are there any apps out there that are known to work that you'd recommend?
Many thanks
Dude, good luck. I have been trying to tether via bluetooth since I got my A70 with no luck.
If you have a T-Mo phone with wireless hotspot, you can use that. For some reason, the Archos won't see a wifi hotspot done by an app like Wireless Tether because it's ad-hoc, but it will see the T-Mo wifi hotspot.
That's what I do now. It's a killer on my battery, but I just make sure I have it plugged in or my extra battery on hand.
Have you tried the WiFi Hotspot on most Android phones instead? That's what I use. The 101 just finds the Wireless network then.
On mine it is under

I am able to use Wireless Tether from the market. Go into settings and put a check in the Use Bluetooth option.

Bluetooth to smartphone for Data

Anyone know if we'll be able to connect the Nexus 7 to our phones like a Galaxy Nexus through Bluetooth for data something Akin to iPhone to iPad? WiFi HotSpot is a huge battery killer.
I would say yes. When I get N7 I'll check it out.
Wi-fi direct should work for file transfers
BT tethering works no problem.

[Q] Does Sprint Charge for tethering internet via Bluetooth?

Is bluetooth internet tethering free with sprint on galaxy note 3?
I know we have to pay for the wifi hotspot feature but we can gain access if rooted.
Just curious about the bluetooth tethering. I'd like to avoid rooting, if possible.
Thanks,
Charles

[Q] sahred connection wifi is bloking internet (tethering)

Hi,
I am struggling with an issue regarding tethering on my nexus 4 stock.
First, I have a plan for tethering with provider.
When I turn on the shared connection via WIFI, I am not able to connect to internet from my device, even if the device is not connected to my PC. If i turn on the shared connection via usb or bluetooth, i can then use itnernet on my phone. It looks like an issue between tethering and wifi.
Other issue is i can not get a bluetooth tethering or even USB. I am stock with this issue for days and was unable to find any answer in the forum.
Your question is not really clear, (or I'm too stupid to get it), because your last sentence contradict the previous one.
Anyway, Tethering allows you to share your Mobile Internet with other WIFI capable devices. This is a quick guide on how to do it. Note that you cannot use the wifi on your phone while tethering, you have to use Bluetooth tethering or USB tethering, if that is the case. Here is a guide from google.
And just out of curiosity which version of android are your phone currently running? Because there was some reported tethering problems on 4.4.2
