Bluetooth audio streaming clicking/pop noise - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just upgraded from a Note 2 to a Note 3. I stream audio to both my cars and have noticed the Note 3 in both vehicles, experience a clicking or pop during playback. Slacker, Media Player, Amazon MP3, all have the same result. Also it doesn't make a different if the screens on or off. Neither does charging during playback. Both devices I stream to are dmzmusic bluetooth dongles. My LG bluetooth headphones work fine.
Anyone else experienced this?

Removed my Galaxy Gear pairing and software when I returned the watch. No more clicks!

Bluetooth Streaming to Car

My car (2014 Toyota) has a2dp media streaming from my note 3. it works fine but one thing is driving me nuts. If I am not streaming music or radio from my phone it just plays samsung installed musack on its own. in the absense of me streaming something it just streams on its own. I do not want this to happen. how can I figure out what app is streaming on its own and prevent it. Sometimes I only want the bluetooth to stream google maps.

Check which apps are running when you stream. I use poweramp for my music and just froze the other music apps using titanium backup. You can do this if you are rooted.
If not you can find where the stock music is stored and delete it so it has nothing to play.

Music skips and changes speed/pitch using Google Play Music through Bluetooth speaker

Hi guys. I am wondering if anyone else is having the same issue I am.
In no certain frequency, when I'm playing music through my Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker from the Google Play Music app, it will sometimes skip and speed up/change pitch. It seems to happen on both WiFi and LTE. Haven't noticed it through plugged-in headphones.
I also noticed it when I had an AT&T Galaxy S4 through a Logitech Bluetooth stereo adapter and a Creative D100 Bluetooth speaker using the same app - Google Play Music.
I had both a Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 and never noticed it with either device.
All my devices have had the stock roms (non-rooted), and were always up to date. My Galaxy S5 is on Verizon. I haven't tried any music through the native music player app (such an mp3 or flac) but will update when I do.
Very annoying issue, especially for a musically sensitive person such as myself! I have sent multiple bug reports through the Google reporting process, and I guess I need to figure out how to send some to Samsung. Just wanted to see if anyone else had the same issues. Didn't see any other mentions of it on XDA. My apologies if there are similar posts on here and I didn't see them. Thanks!

I would root the device & keep the stock rom and install Viper4Android, It's the best sound app/mod that I have ever used and It will let you adjust all of your bluetooth sounds.

For me It's worth rooting just so I can use Viper4Android..
I think it's the Bose device. I have the same issue with the Bose SoundLink Mini. Completely different phone than you. Droid Turbo. Never happens with any other Bluetooth headphones or with my car. It's very annoying. Any slight interruption in the audio stream to the Bose, and the music's pitch goes up like a quarter step. No it doesn't happen on any other Bluetooth device I have nor does it do it on the phones speaker or plugged headphones.
Apparently many people are having this issue with Bose SoundLink and similar devices. https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=69397
I got a Bose Color SoundLink for Christmas, playing a station on TuneIn...after a little while there's a slight pause and the music starts up again at a faster speed! I was wondering if anyone else was hearing this and now I see its other Bose owners. Same thing happened with YouTube.
I have a rooted Note 3 running KitKat. Not upgrading to Lollipop.
Never happens if I use my LG BT earbuds or BT to my other little portable speakers.

(Q) Note 4 Bluetooth skips and cuts out

Before I upgraded, I had a Motorola RAZR Maxx HD that had a well known problem with the Bluetooth cutting out during music playback whether it was streamed or local. One of the key reasons I upgraded, other then I love the whole note series.. the note 4 has the same issue except it's a bit worse. With the RAZR Maxx HD I could at least use player pro and get around most cut outs. With the note 4 nothing helps. I have 3 different Bluetooth devices: LG Tone, Motorola s305, and Kenwood built car Bluetooth. All exhibit the same symptoms. I use all these devices on my 10.1 2014 and not one skip or cut outs. My note 4 is not rooted and completely stock (I want to keep it that way until we get a couple of updates..)
Any ideas or thoughts? Or is this an annoying thing that an update will fix? Appreciate any help.

I also am experiencing a similar issue, not much of music cutting out, but hearing "pops" and "clicks" every few seconds. So I have the following devices:
Phones:
- Note 4
- Tab S 8.4 (Tablet)
- Xperia Compact Z3
Bluetooth Headphones:
- LG HBS-800 (Black)
- LG HBS-800 (White)
- LG HBS-700
- Sennheiser MM 550-X
- Creative T6 Series II (Desktop PC Speakers that has Bluetooth)
I have tested different combinations and I will only get "pops" and "clicks" when I use Note 4 + either the Black or White LG HBS-800.
If I use the Sennheiser MM 550-X and the older LG HBS-700 on the Note 4, I do not get these issues
If I pair any of the Bluetooth stereo (including both the LG HBS-800s) with other devices, none exhibit any "pops" or "clicks".
My Note 4 is in stock, non-rooted, up to date state.
I have of course unpaired then re-paired them.
I used the stock player and Walkman player (I installed the Walkman APK to my Note 4 cause I like the interface).
"Pops" and "clicks" also present when watching videos.
No issue when playing over wired headphones or rear speaker.
So yeah, does anyone have any suggestion with this issue? I'm about to just start using wired headphones.
Same issue here. So, what android version have you had the issue on? I cannot remember having any problem before 5.0.1.
I have a Sony BM-10 sound bridge (apt-x), which works flawlessly with my xperia tab z3 compact, but has this issues with Note 4.
Only playback source I have tried is Google Play Music, and I have same issue on wired headphones as well. Need to test more.
Its an issue with Lollipop
Googled about it and found a workaround by installing PowerAmp and increase buffer

Marshmallow 6.0 bluetooth headphone problems

headphones: beats studio wireless
2.4ghz band stopped working when headphones are connected
-temporary solution: switched to 5ghz band. no issue
netflix would buffer to 99%, audio would start playing but screen was still buffering
-temporary solution: turn off headphones, let video play, turn headphones back on
kodi, hulu and youtube worked fine.
overall i was pretty happy with my experience. im most proud to say that the nexus player is not plagued with the audio lag that come with other devices.
I've had issues with BT headset quality too, since trying post Marshmallow update.
It would have of course been best, if there was a headphone jack in the remote, like Roku and Nvidia Shield have.
It seems the use of a BT headset, somehow puts a burden on the overall Wifi connection of the device, or something. Given you found 5Ghz works better. With Roku and Shield, the headphone jack works great no matter the connection, if you can get it to play on the TV, it will play with no issues via the wireless headphone jack of Roku and Shield.
I don't know why Nexus Player BT headset audio is so unstable. But it's disappointing. That the claimed benefits of Marshmallow for the Nexus Player, are found to be less than stellar once put to use.

Thanks I was looking for a fix or workaround for that issue with netfilx. My workaround was just to cast from my tablet or phone. A little annoying as sometimes I don't have my tablet or phone around.

I just got the OTA update to 6.0 and yes, while I was thrilled to get bluetooth headphone capability this problem with Netflix takes the fun out of it. I'm not convinced it's really buffering, I think it's just refusing to switch to the video framebuffer output for some technical reason when the bluetooth audio sink is selected, so the buffering spinner never goes away.

It's surprising how well this works in terms of being consistent and repeatable (usually these kinds of tricks result in hanging or crashing if you use them more than once), but unfortunately it only works until you have to use the UI to skip or even pause, then it's gone and you have to do it again.
Update: There is also a bluetooth audio problem with Kodi under 6.0: While UI sounds and at least some local files play back fine with bluetooth audio, in certain other streams, including all the YouTube videos and World News Live channels I tried, bluetooth audio is absent unless you do the above trick where you connect the bluetooth device after it starts playing.
The symptom is almost the exact opposite of what you get with Netflix in that, unless you do this trick the video streams but the audio doesn't, where in Netflix the audio streams but the video does not appear.
It's also pretty ridiculous that there is no way to disconnect a bluetooth device from the Nexus side, which means that once it's paired, the headset will connect to the player whenever you turn it on. Which is irritating if you have other devices you want to use it with, like phones and tablets -- all of which do let you disconnect a bluetooth device without unpairing or turning bluetooth off.

Gear fit 2 Causing Bluetooth audio distortion

Does anyone have this issue when you connect to a smart watch, the Bluetooth Audio device will start to have audio problem and fine without the 2nd Bluetooth device paired
Thanks in advance
I'm having BT audio skipping/stuttering issues with my v20 and my 2016 Mustangs Ford Sync. I also use a moto 360 watch. Wonder if having 2 devices is causing the issue? didn't have any BT problems with my s7 Edge.
edit:
not the moto360 causing issues for me, same problems even without the watch on. Maybe it's the app I'm using not ready for Nougat (DI.FM). Going to try .pls files in VLC player to see if that works better.
Yeah , I didn't have this issue with my Note 7. Hopefully someone have a fix

I have not experienced any issues and I do have great fit 2. I sync to my car and two different sets of headphones without issue.
I have a rooted h918 with gear fit 2 and sometimes my jabra revo bt or my Ford sync no issues
