Screen unlock reboot issue

Hi all,
I don't know if any of u have this issue but on any rom (cm7, cm9, cm10, stock 2.3.6 fruit cake) my phone randomly reboots instead of showing lock screen when I press the power key to wake the phone. I don't know what is causing it but it happens randomly.
I tried complete wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik including internal and external sd). I changed kernels (stock, faux) changed radios (.36p, .37p) but no use.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks in advance

Try fastboot wipe. That fixed my rebooting issues when I flashed cm9.
I used this

[Q] Question about HYPERION ROM! :)

I'm currently using the HYPERION ROM, I just wanted to ask if there is a fix about the battery status from the new build which is HYPERION-BUILD.07_RC-03.05? Because every time I reboot my phone, the battery always shows 1% even though it has 50% more. This causes my phone to shutdown while scanning my SD Card any help? Thank You!
i think mine does that too but it doesnt reboot my phone.

Lol. Don't do that.
That bug still has to be fixed. Actually, the same bug was in the working CM7 we got vivek, and i don't think it got fixed. So fixing that bug is a very advanced task.

Screen stuck on battery screen never turn off

Ok this is not a real problem but im afraid that something is not ok with my phone.
Im used to turn off the phone over night...and let it plugged and charging
In the last two weeks ive noticed that with phone off and plugged...the white battery icon appears and the screen never turn off after few seconds (like others do)
This is getting me a bit nervous about my phone health...and i have to let my phone on to prevent the screen to get stuck at the battery screen

Update if i hold the power on button. The phone wake up. If i continu to hold it the phone turn off...continuing to hold the power button the notification led starts to blink red
If i leave the button the red light stop blinking and the phone turn at the white battery screen. It keeps the screen on all the time if its off and plugged

Install Silent Sleep from Play if you don`t want to be disturbed by your phone at night. If that is the reason you turn off yout phone at night that is
BTW my screen goes black when charging at night. Running cM10.1.

T be honest never had that problem, on stock or CM10. Have you had this problem on stock too? Tried a factory reset?
R: Screen stuck on battery screen never turn off
Im on stock now. I came from pa and harsh kernel.
Im wondering if i have to open up the phone and see if i can remove and reinsert the battery

Why don`t you reflash the system.img from the factory image in fastboot and perform a data factory reset afterwards. Removing and reinserting the battery will probably not work.

Reflashing so often will not solve the problem i guess. Have no further idea. Good luck
Reflash everything, if nothing helps rma it if you have a warranty.

Glad to hear that you had the same problem and solved it. I was on franco too. I remember that ive flashed some kind of reset kernel but i will do the procedure again if it can be useful.
Can you tell me which step i ve to do? I would be very grateful
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
ok
ive flashed the franco kernel and the battery screen works as normal, with display turning off after a bit when plugged.
But if i reset the kernel...flashing that zip...it turns back to not turning off after plugged.
What should i do?
boot.img contains kernel and a ram disk, as I read on faux123 , franco uses non stock ramdisk.
I dont know why faux kernel reset doesnt work
you can try downloading link from google (my last post) unpack it, and flashing stock boot.img
just flashed boot.img from google url and I can confirm its working

[Q] Demigod crash handler, HW reset detected when flashing faux kernel?

I flashed faux kernel on pacman 4.3 ROM, and when I rebooted, a yellow screen came up saying demigod crash handler, HW reset detected. I can't remember exactly what it said, I just restored a nandroid, cuz I was afraid I did something wrong. Can anyone tell me what this is, and if I shouldn't flash this kernel?
Did you flash the Ultimate or Mainline edition of Faux's kernel? Ultimate comes overclocked, and some phones can't handle it (including my own). You can rectify this by immediately opening your CPU controller of choice (Faux, Trickster, etc...) and underclocking back to 1.5
I flashed the mainline, I believe. The tbu overclock up to 1.94ghz. I downloaded it from the faux clock app, and flashed it through CWM. It went straight to the demigod crash handler screen, and I wasn't gonna mess around with that, since I had no clue what it was, so I re flashed my ROM from scratch.

Anyone have any advice, this is the first time I've tried flashing a kernel, so some direction would be greatly appreciated.

I've flashed many kernels before. Including Faux's kernel. I did have the same problem with his Ultimate kernel till I clocked it back to 1.5ghz. Try bricked or Franco's kernel. They didn't have any kind of problems
To clock back the ultimate kernel of faux's, the phone would have to boot up right? My problem is it wouldn't boot at all, either go to the crash handler screen, or stuck at the google logo. Do any of faux's kernel's work for the N4, or is it better to just stick with Franco? I just worried about ending up with a hard brick.

Well u can flash another kernel from recovery. And faux's kernels do work if u underclock them. Only SOME people have this problem
Well I guess I'm one of the few with this problem. That sucks, I was really hoping to try it, I've heard a lot of good things about his kernel's.

[Q] How come my phone crashes on AOKP?

I've been using ROM's for 2 months or so. Ive unrooted/re-rooted my phone twice because of recovery being extremely slow. I've started using the KitKat AOKP rom and thats the only rom that seems to crash my phone. Ill be using my phone when *poof*, it crashes my phone. This will happen every 15min when im using my phone. I was told it might me my recovery, but the only way i can root is through Odin or the goo.im app. I cant flash my recovery using commands because my PC just wont do it, it can recognize fastboot commands but it wont do nothing. I really love AOKP roms. Help please! :fingers-crossed:
Which recovery are you on? How did you flash the recovery you're on?

Don't think it's your recovery, but there is a flash able .zip of Philz touch here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42538735
Most people report better results using this on 4.3+

Used AOKP on this and it crashes before it could even finish setting up, like showing me the home screen.
What exactly do you mean crash? Does it reboot? Freeze and require a battery pull? etc...
And what do you mean by recovery being slow?

The recoveries response is pretty fast now thanks to Philz Touch (thanks btw), i mean ill just be scrolling through my phone, doing anything
practical and it will just freeze and reboot. Ive frozen looking through setting, looking at music, and just going on snapchat, its frozen on the lockscreen as well.

Sounds like a kernel or OC/UV issue. Try playing around with different ones and see what happens.

I was having the same problem on AOKP. I even flashed the 4.3 ROM thinking I would correct the problem there and then move up to 4.4. No luck. I can't remember if I was using Philz at the time though. The main reason for this post is that when I would have the random reboot, the screen would kind of start dimming out. I could see three bars of graphics that would blink out and then the phone would reboot. Sorry for the poor description but wanted to add it in case it meant something beneficial to someone else.
