Ok this is not a real problem but im afraid that something is not ok with my phone.
Im used to turn off the phone over night...and let it plugged and charging
In the last two weeks ive noticed that with phone off and plugged...the white battery icon appears and the screen never turn off after few seconds (like others do)
This is getting me a bit nervous about my phone health...and i have to let my phone on to prevent the screen to get stuck at the battery screen

Update if i hold the power on button. The phone wake up. If i continu to hold it the phone turn off...continuing to hold the power button the notification led starts to blink red
If i leave the button the red light stop blinking and the phone turn at the white battery screen. It keeps the screen on all the time if its off and plugged

Install Silent Sleep from Play if you don`t want to be disturbed by your phone at night. If that is the reason you turn off yout phone at night that is
BTW my screen goes black when charging at night. Running cM10.1.

T be honest never had that problem, on stock or CM10. Have you had this problem on stock too? Tried a factory reset?

Why don`t you reflash the system.img from the factory image in fastboot and perform a data factory reset afterwards. Removing and reinserting the battery will probably not work.

Glad to hear that you had the same problem and solved it. I was on franco too. I remember that ive flashed some kind of reset kernel but i will do the procedure again if it can be useful.
Can you tell me which step i ve to do? I would be very grateful

ok
ive flashed the franco kernel and the battery screen works as normal, with display turning off after a bit when plugged.
But if i reset the kernel...flashing that zip...it turns back to not turning off after plugged.
What should i do?
boot.img contains kernel and a ram disk, as I read on faux123 , franco uses non stock ramdisk.
I dont know why faux kernel reset doesnt work
you can try downloading link from google (my last post) unpack it, and flashing stock boot.img
just flashed boot.img from google url and I can confirm its working

I'm currently using the HYPERION ROM, I just wanted to ask if there is a fix about the battery status from the new build which is HYPERION-BUILD.07_RC-03.05? Because every time I reboot my phone, the battery always shows 1% even though it has 50% more. This causes my phone to shutdown while scanning my SD Card any help? Thank You!
i think mine does that too but it doesnt reboot my phone.

That bug still has to be fixed. Actually, the same bug was in the working CM7 we got vivek, and i don't think it got fixed. So fixing that bug is a very advanced task.

Hi guys
I just have a little question regarding my nexus 4. I seem to be having the battery drain issue. It seems to drain the battery when I use any app or the browser through 3G (Wifi it doesnt drain so bad) also when using 3G i get a warm phone at the back. The heat thing doesnt bother me yet as I live in a very cold country.
I am not in a position to RMA or return the device to the shop as I bought the device in the UK and then returned to Russia.
I read on a previous post that google may update the phones to stop this battery drain issue should I wait for this update or should I try a custom ROM to solve the problem. If a ROM would work can any person give me a hint to which is good one to try first I have a nexus 7 and sometimes I use Paranoid Android. I have been reading the thread in the DEV section about that ROM but I cant seem to find a list of whats working or not.
As for the phone I have no other trouble with it it works great even outside when its -42.
its not the ROM, its the kernel that has a battery drain, more particularly towards on how it works. i wont get too complicated because i dont want to write two paragraphs on why its the stock kernel. basically, all you need to know is that the phone ramps up to 1028 frequency when you touch the screen, so there is a possibility of the phone running at 1028 as the minimum freq. etc etc etc etc (like i said, theres a lot of reasons why)
flash a custom rom of your choice + kernel. i recommend franco for kernel.
and you're right for RMA. RMA is for hardware defects etc, RMAing wont get anyone a better battery. so even if you could RMA, i wouldn't. its fixed by software.
Thanks for that i will give it a try
I hit the thanks button
Can we get to the real question at hand... It's -42 degrees where you live... Holy shhh

when its this cold if you drink beer you get a sore throat and lose your voice, also vodka does work but it actually cools your body down at the same time as giving you a false feeling of warmth which is dangerous.
the irony is they sell ice cream on the street and you eat it and its warm crazy but nice in a strange way.
I'm running rooted stock with Franco Kernel
I recommend the franco Kernel, and modding to CyanogenMod. I have been running these and am loving the performance much better now. I also changed my cpu settings (via setCPU) to lower my CPU frequency to 384-1242. The lower frequency helps save some battery life.
Can somebody confirm that the battery drain issue is due to improper cpu scaling?
Thanks.

There are so many things that can cause battery drain issue... Improper CPU scaling, maybe... one can have battery drain issue by simply not having good signal and your phone constantly searching for better signal and this can happen on stock everything.. This is one example of battery drain issue.. So to pin it to CPU scaling would not be accurate

how is stock rom with franco kernel running? im all stock + root but might flash a kernel if its worth it
If you're going to flash a kernel but still use stock Rom. There is absolutely no reason to do this because when a new ota comes out and you accept the ota. It will not apply because you are using a custom kernel any system tweaks done as well will affect it.
So just flash a custom Rom and do yourself a favor. If you're going to flash, don't halfa** it, go the full way there are roms out there that are very stockish such as rascarlo and modaco but for me I prefer a more feature rich rom. Same speed if not faster, no reason to not have them IMO

Not True.. The reason for failure of an OTA it's not having "stock" recovery.. Custom kernels have nothing to do with it, although you need a custom recovery to flash kernels/Roms... One could be stock rooted w/stock kernel and have custom recovery and the OTA will fail because recovery is not stock

True. But as most people in this thread are new, they wouldn't know this and most likely their ota will fail. Worst case scenario they'll be in a non boot able state and would need to fast boot stock or do a recovery maneuver to fix it. Chances of someone with a modified recovery with both stock as an combination are pretty slim, realistically speaking. On a better note, they can wait for the OTA URL link and manually flash the zip by Google which needs a custom recovery

Non able boot state?? For trying to flash OTA with custom recovery?? I doubt it... It will fail because recovery is not stock.. Then you would just reboot system after the fail and continue with business as usual... In most cases the result is that and you wont get the OTA prompt update anymore after the fail

I flashed a new custom rom but something went wrong and when i rebooted a didnt see anything on the screen :S I have nothing on the screen since that, but I can flash any stock rom with RSD lite. After flashing the phone can't boot :S
The backlight works, but nothing appears on the screen. I have flashed about 5 different roms. Nothing changed. :S But for one there was an infinite motorola logo(for 3 hours) so i believe the LCD works. :S (i have 2 batteries and an outer charger so its not a problem)
What should I do?

Used AOKP on this and it crashes before it could even finish setting up, like showing me the home screen.
What exactly do you mean crash? Does it reboot? Freeze and require a battery pull? etc...
And what do you mean by recovery being slow?

The recoveries response is pretty fast now thanks to Philz Touch (thanks btw), i mean ill just be scrolling through my phone, doing anything
practical and it will just freeze and reboot. Ive frozen looking through setting, looking at music, and just going on snapchat, its frozen on the lockscreen as well.

I was having the same problem on AOKP. I even flashed the 4.3 ROM thinking I would correct the problem there and then move up to 4.4. No luck. I can't remember if I was using Philz at the time though. The main reason for this post is that when I would have the random reboot, the screen would kind of start dimming out. I could see three bars of graphics that would blink out and then the phone would reboot. Sorry for the poor description but wanted to add it in case it meant something beneficial to someone else.
