S-voice help please. - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am unable to use the S-voice on my Note 3 without being connected to the internet? Is this normal?
I would have thought it would have worked without a net connection? Am I doing something wrong in terms of set up? If I am could one of you kind members point me in the right direction please.
Many thanks
Ryland

[Q] GPS ?

Hi, guys
I feel stupid to ask this question but seems like I can't find anyone asking this question about gps in N10.
I know that there's one in N10, but seems like I can't use it for navigation?
I thought at least in google map, you should be able to use navigation function on your offline saved maps.
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.
thanks.
You can while you have wifi connection input your destination and once it gets the driving directions you can then turn off wifi. It will retain all the information and it will continue to direct you.

Share Wifi connection

Sorry in advance if the answer is obvious but I want to use my galaxy s4 as a "relay" if you will for a Wifi connection. Is it possible to share the connection and use my device as an access point of sorts? To be clear, I don't want to tether my mobile connection because there doesn't seem to be a good way to do this without AT&T harassing me about it since they have once before, otherwise I would just tether.
I am rooted running clean ROM 1.0

If you don't want to tether then I don't understand. If you are using a wifi connection and want to share - just have other devices connect directly. Why do you want to use your phone as a wifi bridge?

My wireless signal has a very difficult time reaching my PC. I can understand why people would think my request is futile but I've noticed that proximity of the router to my laptop greatly impacts my latency. So I was wondering if it's possible to use it as a relay of sorts :-/

I don't think the phone can use the radio to receive and broadcast wifi at the same time.
I would consider moving my router.

I9500 Wi-Fi Connection Issues. ..

Hello Everyone,
Recently (for the past 1 week or so)... I am having serious connection issues with my wi-fi. I cant really say that its an issue with my ISP. All the other devices like PS3, laptop work fine.
Problem is.. when I connect to my wi-fi, the connection stays strong for a a while then browsing, playing games, Facebook just doesn't seem to connect. The Internet connection just dies. I checked the wi-fi settings, it says connection is too weak to use!
It is happening soon after I had the last system update. Can't say if its to blame. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe you should try to uncheck from the Advance Wifi Setting the Avoid poor connection option.

Hmm... could not find that setting anywhere.
This may not work, but maybe try a static IP rather than a DHCP-allocated one.
Edit - Yep, you will need to 'forget' the connection & re-add it in order to set a static IP.
Well I tried the static option. But with that the connect button is grayed out.

Search again, because it's your solution. It is a new feature from 4.3. Maybe with different name because our language. It is inside wifi, advanced. If it detects wifi data connection is poor (don't confuse with wifi signal, is different but related), it automatically switch the connection from wifi to 3g/4g to prevent disconnections from the world...

A screenshot will not help you, first because I have it in spanish, second bercause you need to know the route to get that option better than to see it. I will try to translate the name of the option but not 100% sure you will find it as is:
settings->wifi->push left button (menu)->choose "Advanced" on the pop-uped menu->6th option from top says "Automatic network switching (Switch automatically between wifi networks and mobile networks)": uncheck it.

If you have wifi from the place where you are at, just select that same wifi name on your pc's wifi setup. No need to tether with phone, right? Am I missing some other details from you?

Not sure you can do it without root or a tethering plan.

using home wifi through phone as hotspot

Is it anyway possible to use my home wifi connected to my phone, then use the hotspot feature to run through wifi instead of mobile data? This would be so helpful
Thanks in advance
