[Q] Galaxy s4 i337 dead!! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi, this is the first time i post something in this forum. First I want to say sorry for my bad english and second, here is my BIG problem:
I just purchased a Galaxy S4 I337 for AT&T. I have to say that I don't understand very much about rooting and modding. The thing is that I tried to root this phone and then I can't do nothing with it. I only can enter into the odin mode.
I tried to unroot and reinstall the Stock Factory Rom that I already donwloaded from sammobile and I used Odin 3.04 and 3.07 versios and in both fail the operation and in both happen the same thing:

You have mf3 firmware on your phone. Odin won't work. I'd take it to bestbuy with a Samsung experience. They can flash the mf3 firmware.

As the posted link will tell you - they shouldn't give you any problems with this unless you've got huge indicators you voided your warranty.

FIXED!!!!
Hi again!
I did the thing that you told me and the phone is already fixed!!! it has all factory settings. Thank you guys!
My question is, i can't root this phone right now? it is impossible? I have to wait for another method?

You can root it. You can't put on a custom recovery. Look up safestrap, it will allow you to use custom roms

How has your phone repaired?

I took mine to best buy, and none of them seem to know how to fix it... complete utter morons, if you wil; not generallyl. They don't even know what a firmware was, and tried Kies to fix it....really?!! So far it may be only for certain best buy locations, because surely this one in CA certainly doesn't.
By the way, if anyone has found a solution, I need urgent help. I have the same problem as the poster... NAND Write Fail, certainly a type of Bricked.

I had the same issue while rooting my Galaxy S4,tried on every other laptop, different ports, cables and more but then I realized I was using the wrong file.
Yes,the international version comes with Bootloader unlocked so your bootloader is fine. Are you able to boot your phone into Download mode?I am sure u cant boot into Recovery mode, can you?
First go back and check your phone's model no and use the proper file and try again!I will help you, dont worry!
I deactivated the reactivation lock but still the same problem.I have Downloaded the CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar file several times same thing every time.My last chance is doing a full wipe of the system and then trying again.I hope orange Romania CSC does't have some sort of security block.
Frustrating thing is the phone is fully functional so i cannot ask for a replacement. And even after the dozens of failed flash attempts it still reads 0x0.
YES!!!Finally.A full wipe did it.!Thank you for your interest in helping me.

Before you wanna flash. Don't forget to uncheck reactivation lock, put off your external sd card. And look carefully for your modem and radio. Don't switch with the another kernel before official launch comes.

Help please, I have a (Note 3) SM-N900V on JSS15J.N900VVRUBMJE.
I bought it on Jan 12th ish, and took the firmware update as soon as I saw it because of some reading I had done.... shouldn't have done that I guess.
I am still totally unable to root this thing, Kingo, Odin v3.0.9. I am willing to do w/e (go back to older firmware even if possible)
I know there are no guarantees in this attempt, and would not hold you to anything, I have rooted every other android I have had and am very familiar with the process, any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated

[Q] Q: Un-rooting / flashing stock Note 3 - HELP

Hello there,
I have looked through the forums and have attempted various different tutorials on how to un-root and flash back to the stock firmware. I am with Rogers Wireless (Canada), and have downloaded Odin and N900W8VLUBMI5_N900W8OYABMI5_RWC which is the rogers firmware for my device. Every time I connect my device to Odin in download mode, select PDA / AP, I get an error log with the following:

On the phone itself, I see:
"SW REV CHECK FAIL: [sb1]Fused 2 > Binary 1"
I cannot seem to flash it, no matter what I do.
Any help is appreciated, I would really like to flash back to the stock firmware and remove root. Thank you.

You are currently on a newer firmware (you can check it in Settings/About or with *#1234# ). You are on a new bootloader and you will not be able to return to an older firmware. Check your knox status - if that is 0x1 you will also never be able to make it back to 0x0. Read around for more info (but generally you should be able to write the latest ROM from your carrier, and that should also remove root).

Thank you for the reply,
I see that knox is set to 0x1, doh. Where would I be able to find / download the same / latest firmware for my Rogers Wireless Note 3?
Edit: Found it, thank you. So there will NEVER be a way to trip knox back to 0x0?

I don't know about Rogers, but for instance you can look here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-N900W8&pcode=RWC#firmware
There is also another option that might also work - with Kies 3 using Tools -> Emergency firmware recovery - but I believe you might need the latest Kies version and even that one might not work. (I consider that one a little safer only in the fact that if something very bad happens you might get away with free service on it by saying Kies created the problem, while saying that you bricked the phone in Odin will guarantee that service will NOT be covered by warranty).

your right, kies does helps, but was wondering can we blame kies for the 0x1 when flashing back to stock if we do a warrenty exchange through the carrier? haha

Calm down mate, I know its hard, but that's what you need to do.
Now for that error, its absolutely normal. I have had the exact same error! I mean I still don't know why! I downloaded the German LP ROM and tried to flash it, and it failed, then I downloaded the Polish LP ROM and it flashed successfully. I was certain that the German ROM is meant for 16 GB devices, and as mine is 32 GB it would not flash, but then someone came and said there are no 16 GB models of Note 3 in Europe! Well if that's true then I don't know what's wrong!
So I guess you need to download the Polish LP ROM, and flash it. It should not fail.

No, seriously it doesn't matter what ROM you are flashing regardless of where you are. Yes, you should be able to fix that, at least that's what happened with me, so you shouldn't be any exception, I think.

But then it'll be in weird language? I won't understand any of it and apparently if you put wrong country or carrier on the sim can't tell the phone where to look for satellites to send texts and Internet ect
No it won't be in a weird language. I have flashed the Polish LP and the only way I can tell is that there were a couple of bloat ware apps in Polish.
And any carrier info about SMS etc us on the SIM (as you say and will not be affected by flashing the ROM.
I don't want to be nasty, but if you're this nervous about things then maybe you should stay away from experimenting in until you've read up a bit on it. I once this is fixed.

Try also connecting the cable on a different usb port and also try a different cable if it still fails.
Also if your gonna flash polish lollipop once its finish the first screen will be the choose your language selection then once selected everything will be changed to that language.
Happened to me once but first it was the usb port not supplying enough power so changed it to the back usb port then got at least 50% then failed again and finally replaced my usb cable and was successful.
Check settings-- security...if theres a reactivion lock option..make sure its disabled...it is there on the note 4 and note edge...not sure if itsthere on note 3..but check anyway...if not, maybe something as simple as a different cable and diff USB port may help

I can't get on my note 3,it only goes into download mode, why are people thinking its computer or cable?
Because computer usb ports and a busted cable are common reasons fir odin to fail....also make sure samsung kies, if installed, is not running...if you can only get to download mode...all you can do us try flashing stock firnware....or try flashing twrp with auto-reboot unchecked....and then manually reboot to twrp...push a rom and flash it

it says product name : SM-G900P
current binary: custom
system status: custom
knox warranty void: 0x1 (3)
Your S5 is the G900P then, not the G900F
Lots of S5s have been falsely labelled like this, even firmware states G900F, download mode is correct

Can I update my Galaxy Grand Prime (SM-G530H) to Lollipop?

My sister's phone is Galaxy Grand Prime and still running Android 4.4.4. I've searched over the net and there is Lollipop update already for some countries. There's still no update here in the Philippines. Can I update this device using firmwares from other countries? Thanks!

If I flashed Lollipop on this device, all data stored on my device will be deleted?
And I searched the latest version of odin, it is now 3.12.3.

As @waleeds1 said, No. But I recommend you to take backup of all your data nd do a factory reset after you flash Lollipop firmware.
That way you won't get any lags or performance glitches.

Make sure you've a good backup. Nd also you've Samsung USB drivers already installed in your PC.
Power off your device nd boot in download mode by pressing Volume Down + Home + Power Buttons together.
Then open Odin nd connect your phone to PC via data cable nd press volume Up key on phone, then if it shows you "Added" in Odin you're good to go.
Select the AP option nd select the firmware which you've downloaded. Now it'll take some time to verify the md5 as depending upon the speed of your PC. Once it has verified you'll be able to click on other options. So now you've to click on Start nd make sure you don't move your device or the connection doesn't cut off or your device might get hard bricked.
That's it, the flashing time would be about 4-5 minutes. After it is flashed the phone will reboot nd now you can factory reset the device properly for a clean new device.
I've told everything you needed to know.
Enjoy!

The thing you said is correct but I recommend first start your phone without factory reseting @jelmerpeligrino becuase if u dont face any performance or other issues. But if u wish to factory then its still a good choice

Yes I told that in my second post.
Actually I believe he has been using Kitkat from a long time nd for most of the apps, the things have changed. The API differences creates certain problems as it is recommended by Samsung itself to factory reset the device after Android version change.
From Kitkat to Kitkat nd Lollipop to Lollipop factory reset is not needed but for SDK changing it is needed.

No you don't have the right firmware for your device. The baseband difference. Post a screenshot from your About Phone nd also the link of firmware you're trying to flash.

Yes it is normal, It is weird tho how you've two devices connected. Or maybe there's some bug in this version of Odin. Anyways all working good?

So far, it was good. The performance is better now compared to Kitkat and and the sluggishness was gone. Thanks bro!
Btw, do you have any Marshmallow ROM for this device?
