Unlocked for GSM Unable to send text - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been searching for a solution. I have a rooted Razr M(4.3 BeanStalk) and unlocked b/l and unlocked for GSM. I am currently using on AT&T. I am able to receive sms and mms. I can also send mms but I can not send sms. Does anyone know of a solution? I am assuming because of the root and rom I can not get into manual programming which might help the situation.

me too. And I tried to instal gsm fix for CM 10.2
just more wipe dalvik/cache so many time. It's work dude. :good:

[Q] downgrading from 2.2 to 2.1

hello there. my brother upgraded my sumsung galaxy s to an unofficial froyo update for the galaxy s. i am in uk. he said he did something with kies "regedit" and he installed the firmwire into my phone. i used the phone for a day and there are many many errors and force closings. is there a way i can downgrade to 2.1 and wait for the official release for my tmobile uk branded( though ive unlocked the phone) cell phone? please tell me there is a way.
I did the same, so after the update i started to get lots of unexpected closes, freezes and also cant send mms now, managed to reconfigure the the apn to mms and internet, managed to get internet working but still unable to send mms.
And now im thinking on rooting the mobile so maybe i can solve this another way.
Though if there is anybody that can advise me on how to solve this now i would be grateful.
Thanks

How do I modify DarkLord to get to work on VZW DE?

Darklord partially runs on my SM900v developer edition (DE, Verizon). I can make and receive phone calls and receive texts, but I can't send texts or get data. I tried change APN manually but there is no option to do so (at least that I found). I am on baseband 4.3 I believe. I would like to try so get it fully up and running on my DE if possible, but don't necessarily know where to begin. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am currently running Dirty Unicorn, so I am thinking I can pull some folders/files/buildprops from that ROM or Jasmine.
FYI, I don't mean to offend any developer and appreciate their great hard work, just trying to get it running on my VZW DE edition. I have no problem donating after up and running and will not repost, but will share with the developer.
Got it running on darklord note 5 rc 2.1. I selected the 900t and flashed as normal. Turned mobile data and it works. I can make calls and receive texts. I have received a call yet. Will test and report back.
HOWEVER, I still cant send texts. Any ideas what to do?
Are the APN settings correct?
No. According to what i found on verizon and other pages they arent. But when i try to change it, it does not stick.
Then add a new APN, don't change the existing one. Kids... :sly:
I have tried to change and add manually. It does not save either. I have said that in other posts above. I have also tried a slimapn.zip of verizon apns which adds new ones but that still doesnt work. I am going to try telephony.db and see if that works.
Borrowed
Will borrow this post so I dont open a new one.
So to upgrade the DL N5 rom from 2.0 to 2.1 do O need to whipe system and chacde davlk an all or can I just flash new ROM "update"
Ty
I done it. I flashed the rom and than daw the option upgrade. So i done that . Thanks anyways

Virgin Mobile Moto G (3rd Generation) CDMA

First off I would not recommend buying this phone, it has no features to STOCK ROM you cannot even display the battery percent or AM/PM indicator in status bar and it's already on 5.1.1 android. On top of all the downsides it comes with bloatware! I switch from a Galaxy S3 non-waterproof phone that ran official CDMA CM12.1 I'm already thinking on switching back to outdated phone.
This Virgin Mobile CDMA device allows for a successful bootloader unlock from Motorola website. Good Luck they say!?!
WARNINGS:
I uploaded to the official (osprey cm12.1) CyanogenMod ROM doing so wiped/broke the authentication to the virgin mobile network my SIM card went bad. Virgin Mobile is sending out a new account card so I can get back onto thier network and use all features again or sell phone!!
It's sad that so many people have this phone on Sprint plans and Virgin Mobile (CDMA LTE networks) and this device will probably be a phone that never gets an official CyanogenMod custom ROM for....
This phone did have a lot of awesome features using official CyanogenMod 12.1 for GSM on WiFi only, it allowed no bloatware it also allowed battery percent and and AM/PM indicators to show in status bar along with the fact when you hold the power button it let you go into airplane mode restart or power off the STOCK ROM only allows for power down no restart very cheap features poorly built STOCK ROM.
Good luck to all that buys this phone hoping a official CyanogenMod ROM will be built for CDMA version but I'm not counting my chickens before they decide to build one!
For developers: For some reason the official osprey GSM CM12.1 ROM messes up the SIM Virgin/Sprint card in this device it seems to change the PRL that currently is updated to a different number also changes my up to date mobile number in SIM status to the wrong phone number which sets my voice service out of data!
Thanks for reading device problems/reviews for 3rd generation Moto G (2015) for Virgin Mobile.
Dang dude, sorry for your frustration...
It can work though

[ROM][osprey] CyanogenMod 12.1 for Moto G (3rd Gen)
The only thing that correctly works is a CDMA rom not GSM. The reason for SIM replacement is because I had to keep going back to my old PRL and profile update on backup ROM because the osprey ROM was changing my number and PRL on device. I tried so many times it's not even cool to think about the worst part is CM12.1 for SPH-L710 was so easy to get working and even though it said Sprint in top corner everything always worked you we;re just able to flash the universal LTE Fix and the name would change to Virgin Mobile.
Trust me I think I had to advance wipe wipe wipe install instal install mount mount mount reboot optimizing atleast 50 times go back to stock ROM PRL and phone number changed to a 0000003534 number I tried rooting and so many things including the universel apn fix but the only thing that would change is service to name to Virgin Mobile but then after a single reboot it would change it to Sprint name
Ok

Flash the derp3 after ROM and gapps
Then when you reboot you will find CDMA subscription option.

I got it working but it displays sprint I did cm12.1 osprey + gapps then mount system Virgin APN then power down then booted back into bootloader flashed boot.img renamed from derp3 file then restart device for first time it all looks flawless with virgin in top of corner but then I go to change CDMA out of VM reboot device it starts up with Sprint LTE icon in status everything seems to be working after a restart from changing CDMA other than it doesn't display Virgin Mobile LTE
So everything works great IMEI and my real phone number and all status work just at network it says Sprint

Thanks hoss. Did not realize I could use Textra to get MMS. Was almost gonna go back to stock for this. Your always so helpful.
Edit: Im wondering can I only send MMS via 3g and LTE. I ask because I use to be able to send via WiFi but I can't even with Textra. I don't pay for data.
Edit2: I had to enable the WiFi only option. Yayyyy, glad I have picture messaging on CM. Thanks Hoss

Textra doesn't work seems the Derp3 file is still a little off textra sends them but when standing next to the person sending to they never receive the file to get mms to send you have to push send then hit airplane mode then take out it will send automatically. Do this for every mms that your sending I have not tested with receiving this is for native app no others needed.

Go into Textra settings, then MMS, scroll to the bottom and the second option from the bottom is called "Prefer WiFi". Turn that on and you will be able to at least send MMS via Wifi.

what all did you have to do to get it working i cant get data working
PRL?
Hey guys, just installed CM14.1 on my Moto G3. I am trying to use Textnow for service, through sprint. If I use a stock Rom I can get the PRL to update, but it doesn't stick when I flash CM14.1. I've done this successfully to another phone, exact same model, but cant get mine to keep the prl info.
Just to provide confirmed information and insight, flashing a custom OS will not and cannot "break" or otherwise cause damage or corruption to the UICC (SIM). While a custom OS can certainly break data, due to APN configurations, telephony & network settings, etc., I know of no custom ROM that writes to the UICC. For this very reason, it is often required for subscribers to revert to pure stock in the event that a PRL/Data Profile Update is needed. Also known as UICC Provisioning, stock firmware's update to the PRL and Data Profile writes to the UICC and enables data and voice services.
