Which version of ODIN is recommended? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Why so many versions of ODIN are recommended instead of just one?
People recommend 1.85; 3.04; 3.07 and now 3.09. What is the difference between these and which version is safe to use with SM-N9005?
I only found this:
Odin version 3.09 is released recently with some new features. This new sleek version is compatible with all editions of Windows Operating System. It has a new user interface and the performance is also improved. The latest version have two new features named Auto-start and Binary Size.

i use 1.85 and have no problem

i used 3.07 this evening

ive used both 1.85 and 3.07 with note 3, both work fine.
however on newer version they have changed the names of PDA and other items, which can be confusing

Guys, but what about the automatic cheked boxes when we start Odin like "auto reboot" and etc?
I always noticed that on 1.85 and 3.04 some boxes are checked by default, but not the same way on both.

I had problems until I used 3.07

Mobile Odin now Supports the Galaxy Tab 7.7

Mobile OdIn by Chainfire now has support for the P6800 and P6810. Just a heads up for P6800 and 6810 owners.. Let the mobile flashing begin..!
Now we need some roms.. Lol

im noob for samsung, what is mobile odin?
Good news. Thx.
The problem is that it can't operate. It tells me that there is unexpected partition and shuts down. ):
I saw that too and contacted Chainfire and he resolved the issue.. there is a new build and it does not report any error on my device.. As always use @ your own risk..!
Will we be able to flash ROM's with CWM anytime soon ?
I'm used to that using my Note, ODIN seems more technical (need to know what ur doing)
So if some cook decided to build a custom ROM , would be be able to flash via (mobile) ODIN, and/or CWM?
Odin support since I bought my tab last week. Been using it already to flash Australia firmware ;-)

Assuming CWN works correctly you will be able to flash as soon as someone releases a rom.
As for Odin being to "technical", If you do NOT know how to use odin, then you should NOT be modding your device. Odin is a simple click, add the file, press start. How hard is that?
Not everything can be spoon fed.
Edit: Also why is this in development? Should be in general.
My sincere thanks to you for your first line, the answer.
The rest, well, it's a forum and It got a lot worse after 2008.

what do you do after mobile Odin has downloaded a dump file to make device compatable???
Chainfire has already done the work to make Mobile Odin work with P6800/6810. If you're using mobile odin lite, you need to download the flash kernel manually from chainfire's thread. The paid version from market should do this automatically.
i've tried both technic to flash mine.. mobile odin pro just made my device went to loop booting. then i used odin 1.85 rev. 3 for wwindows which made my device alive again..

Since it was updated to support the p6800 I have never used Odin on my laptops/desktops again, and haven't had any issues flashing from the device with mobile Odin. You should check to make sure everything is set correctly and you have the flash kernel loaded properly..

...latest firmware? is the 4.3 not the latest for Note 3? or you mean custom?
Do you mean the MJ8 firmware from china?
Its been my experience that the chinese firmwares seem to use a different .pit file or modem to other countries generally resulting in soft bricks...Flash these roms with care.....
so can i replace the modem.bin file in mj8 and flash?
Did u use CFA root or did you root with clockwork recovery mod originally???

Does mobileodin work for flashing modems?

Anyone know if a certain version of mobile odin works for our phones?
I miss beyond able to flash a modem on the fly and kernel. Well kernel flashing works in recovery at least.

Edit:
You can use it to flash everythig BUT MODEMS
I saw modems and that was why I was quick to respond.
I haven't used it since my S3. But it has the Sprint GS4 under supported devices. I'm not usrr up to what software version though.

mobile odin and modems
In every post about flashing a new modern you have to completely power down and go into download mode and flash to get it to stick. Mobile odin
Does not power off to flash it works like a recovery and just flashes and reboots. So no it will never work to use mobile odin to flash modems.
Why they don't stick unless you power off i don't know

Mobile Odin Help

I wanted to install the stock rom on my Sprint Galaxy s4. I installed mobile odin lite along with the proper kernel. I downloaded the stock rom from http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.p...axy S4 (SPH-L720)/Stock ROMs/MK2/Original TAR It's in the form of tar.md5. I transferred that onto my phone. When I launch odin and click on that file I get the message Partition could not be found in file. What am I doing wrong?
The proper way to do it would be on a PC and use Odin rather than mobile Odin. Use version 3.xx to have good results.

Something is wrong with the cables I'm using or the computers since windows doesn't recognize the phone. I downloaded and installed the latest drives, but still can't get the phone recgonized. That's why I wanted to use mobile odin

Lost sound after flashing various modems

I'm baffled and have no idea what to do next
I flashed an mdj modem IIRC, and lost sound.
Running stable CM11
Current modem is MK6 currently.
I tried to flash through Odin back to stock but it failed twice - even though it was for my Rogers device 4.4.2
Im lost

If not and you guys think I need to Odin to stock can someone link me to the proper file and some steps?
I can't seem to ever get any stock roms to flash in odin

Odin can be finicky. Try different usb cables and ports. You should be able to get the firmware for your device at sammobile.com
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
It's not a connection port issue it's a Fail Auth when the stock firmware is almost done installing
Thank you for replying
