I'm getting my Note today but I wonder if I purchase from Amazon Germany or Italy would the warranty be valid in my country (Ireland). Whats your experience?

Europe phones have europe warranty. So its valid within europe
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Yes, it's valid. But you will be required to send it back to the shop you bought it from if it breaks.

You can give it to any official resale shop of Samsung. You don't need to send it back to the shop you bought it

That's not ever been a requirement in my experience. Samsung deal directly with me on warranty issues & that's same whether I am or not the original owner of the handset as long as it's within the 2 yr warranty.
The warranty is with Samsung.

If you're able to purchase it off the Play Store, I don't see why not.

I don't think so. If they'd intended for it to have international warranty, they'd have sold it internationally through the Play Store.

Well they are selling it internationally. That is if your country is supported by the Play Store.

Yes, outside of supported countries, don't expect warranty.
I have an N7. Here in India it's not yet launched, but we do get warranty.
Just sayin'
Speaking of warranties, does anybody know the standard warranty the phone will come with? Is it one-year?

Of course, the phone would be covered by warranty even on moon. But it won't be honoured except in the country of sale.
I would know the answer soon, at least for the Asus Google Nexus 7, and it could be the same case for the LG Google Nexus 4. A Swiss bought the tablet in the U.S., he is currently in Thailand an it have flaws. He is seeking an authorized service center to have it repaired... I will tell more soon.
It looks like Germany is gettig octa core and i want it rather than snapdragon 600. I always had USA version of phone and never tried international version. Although rumors are to be said that Exynos are not going to get much development as snapdragon 600, it is ok because I will not be rooting or flashing rom. So, My question is, what will be the famous german phone sale website that will be selling GS 4 and will ship to USA? (For example in UK, www.clove.co.uk would be a good example)

If I bought one from Germany (octacore) :
1. Would it just be a case of selecting English and using my 3 sim straight off?
2. Is warranty an issue, would I have to send it to Germany should a fault occur?
3. If they ever do bring out an octacore version in the UK at a later date, am I right in thinking you could just flash the UK firmware on the German bought phone?
Thanks

1. Well if you buy sim free unlocked one and your carrier carries the right frequency yeah.
2. I have to research more on warranty but i assume samsung in us will be handle it unless warranty specifically states to be serviced in germany.
3. No idea

Related to #2: Of you buy the phone in Europe, the warranty will be available only in European Union, so in case of problems you will need to send it to Europe.
About #3, if the devices are both OCTA, it shouldn't be a problem.

UK is in Europe (for now at least ) which is why I'm not sure how warranty would work. I wonder if someone in France moved to Germany, would they have to send it back to France if that's where they bought it?

Nop, you can fix it in Germany, as well as Portugal or Romania. If you bought it in EU, you can fix it wherever you are or want. I'm in Spain right now, I will buy it from Germany and if I have problems, I can send it to Samsung Service here in Spain. That's the beauty of European Union.
@jkforce: I don't think it will work. First of all, the whole US will use Snapdragon so Octa will be kinda hard (or needs a lot of time to be fixed because of the component needed and not found locally). Also, an extended warranty works in the same way as a normal one, in this case only in Europe, but covers you of drops or other mechanical damages. You will need to ask Samsung US if they can accept you an extended warranty for an European device in US.

First: I assume you are in Malaysia
second: your device CSC shows it is for Indonesia (as per sammobile.com)
Third: Where did you but it from? (Authorized Samsung outlets or any electronics outlets)

Don't worry bro I've heard that the best ones are made there because the manufacturing process have been perfected over time.
Vietnam ones in the other case are said to be the worse cause they are the ones of the newer factories that haven't perfected the process. Idk if true

Most devices are made in China, but manufacturers are gradually moving to SEA as wages in China are rising at a faster rate than SEA countries.

Hi all
I have an upcoming trip to Las Vegas.
Where can I get the LTE MODEL (N9005) completely unlocked including regional unlocked.
Looking for a shop where I can pick it up and check it out before I leave.
I may have a connection in London too.
Any ideas where I can find this device at those two destinations ?
Thanks !

In London Phones4U normally have them in stock Sim-free. Not cheap though - £620. http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_justphones_details.asp?Itemkey=714026 probably cheaper in US, if you can get the 9005 there.
Alternatively, you may find a boxed one on Gumtree in the UK but it'll be a private sale, cash only and riskier.

What do you mean by "region unlock it from ebay" ?
What i constantly see is N9005 mentioned as SIM Free but many are Region locked to EU.
i dont want to patch the device or hack it.
thanks

Just an FYI - the N9005 isn't compatible with US LTE bands (T-Mo *may* work) so you'd only get 3G/H+ only. -- assuming you are US Based obviously.
