Can you add shortcuts to homescreen? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title states, I cant see anyway to do it. I thought you should have been able to press and hold on the homescreen but no option there. I want to add a bookmark to my homescreen.

Longpress homescreen, choose widgets, pick bookmarks, choose the bookmark you want.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.

Dam, how did I miss that!
Thanks for the help, knew it must be there somewhere.

Folders not updating on home screens?

Created shortcuts on my home pages to folders of apps. If I add apps through the menu to the folder the folders on the home screen don't refresh to reflect this?

Sorry. Thats not how it works. Folders will work independently. If you want to add apps to home screen then tap and hold the app in the app drawer and the release on the home screen folder

Rearrange Touchwiz homescreen icons

HI,
Is there any way to rearrange the Touchwiz home screen icons? I'm left-handed and have small fingers, so the fact that the "show all apps" icon is all the way to the right is sort of a nuisance to me as I can't reach it with one hand without much effort. I'd like to to move the "show all apps" icon either to the center or left side. Surprisingly every other icon besides the "show all apps" icon can be rearranged.
Thanks
Any update on this?

If someone is willing to modify the launcher then I think it'll be possible but for now you should either download another launcher or place all your apps on the home screen.

I'd suggest download a launcher also

Lockscreen SMS question. .

Is there any way to get a preview of a new text message on the lockscreen like HTC and Samsung devices? I've looked everywhere for the option but I can't find it. The only way is to pull down the notification shade or swipe up from the messages icon.

Try NiLS on the play store, works for all apps like iOS. I use it all the time.

Unfolder apps. Possible?

So when I setup my phone I put all the apps in the app drawer in various folders. I then put these folders on a home screen. I wasn't thinking. Now I want all the apps out of folders for easy alphabetical sorting and finding. Is there a way to unfolder them short of dragging each one out one at a time?

Figured it out. Drag the folder to "remove" in the edit screen.

How to remove icon text using stock launcher?

Is there a way?
You won't be able to change the app drawer on stock launcher but for the rest of the icons you could use desktop visualizer app

He's talking about this app

That's the one
Or, if you have six shortcuts in the bottom bar, the text will go away.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.
It takes 7 on mine, not 6

I didn't count the app drawer icon, because it cannot be changed, that leaves six shortcuts.

You can decompile the lg launcher apk and change a value in the bool.xml file to rove the text for shortcuts on launcher hotseat if you don't want to use app to do it.
