note 10.1 (2012)? - Omni Q&A

Hello, just found out about this rom from androidauthority and I am so psyched about it having multi-window support (the one thing that i miss going from touchwiz to cm). Any plans on releasing this on note 10.1 (8010)? Please say yes.

Really depends on how much time I have. Both of the N80xx CM maintainers are involved with Omni, but right now, we have a TON of stuff to do and I don't want to spread myself too thin in terms of device support. It really depends on where things go over the next few weeks.

[PLEDGE] Give CyanogenMod / TeamHacksung a Galaxy S3!

Hello everyone. The time has come. Today Samsung announced their new flagship device GT i9300 A.K.A. Galaxy S3. Now, if you are a big fan of pure AOSP and his aftermarket distributions like I am you certainly already know that ICS based CyanogenMod 9 is out there and running and its pure fresh blazing awesomeness. That said, I decided to start this pledge to gather money to give Teamhacksung members codeworkx and xplodwild the next Samsung Galaxy S3 so they can develop for it and port CM9. As you probably know, Teamhacksung is the official CM mantainer for Samsung devices.
Im daily in touch with Teamhacksung members and they are already aware and fully support this pledge.
We running for two devices here. The ammount already includes Pledgie taxes. The donnations are going straight to xplodwild’s paypal account.
We count on you that, like me, is certainly going to buy this new beast called Galaxy S3 and want to see it sporting CM9 and future Google AOSP releases.
CM9 on Galaxy S3 for the WIN!!!!

****[UPDATE]****
People,
Im very proud to come here and say that
WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!!
I want to thank all of you very much for the collaboration. We did it and we did it fast. We are TEH community and we always prove right that we have such amazing power together. Thank you very very much again.
Now devs have what is needed to start the wild porting workx. Stay tuned! I will reach you with more news when I have them.
going to donate! this is definitely needed!
As soon as xplodwild at teamhacksung received the galaxy note, we received the cm9 official build instantly.
and we raised funds in just 24 hours where we could get them the galaxy note, love the community spirit. lets do it!
s3 needs to pimp the cm9 for sure!

I'm not entirely sure I will want to put a vanilla or CM on this phone right away... the stock Touchwiz ROM seems to have a lot of nice features.. Unless these can be incorporated into a ROM that is based on CM9 or what-have-you I think I will try running a stock Touchwiz ROM with root access.. I have never used Touchwiz but even if I had I couldn't definitively say I won't like this because it's new to everyone.

Believe me, CM9 will be better than TouchWiz once it's done. More details to come in the next days.

Awesome.

To each their own.
Thanks for being so sarcastic. I guess things went a bit too fast.
Actually, while the Galaxy S3 will have many great features, they're all software-based. And after looking deeply, there's nothing that prevents us from adding these nice features to an AOSP ROM, for instance CyanogenMod 9.
Hence why, Galaxy S3, once running CyanogenMod 9, will profit from a community effort started recently to bring manufacturers' features to all CM9-enabled devices. This can include actions triggered by motion, and other features so-called "natural".
You can find out more details at http://opendesign.blamesamsung.org/. Details on specific features, as well as the ability for everyone to request this kind of features, will be available on May 10th.
I can only thank once more people that will help Team Hacksung and CyanogenMod getting a Galaxy S III, to help all CyanogenMod 9 devices.

So true, this was an inspired moment We will give you more details soon. I'm pretty sure you will all like it. But we will need more peeps to help. This won't be done by xplodwild alone. this is a community work. Once done, this will revolution the world of mobile and of every CM9 maintained phone. xplodwild linked the website, it's still under developement, but you learn soon what it is .
And to answer CoNsPiRiSiZe, touchwiz always deceived us. I don't see why it would change now. A proverb says : "You don't have to taste **** to know it taste like ****".

Don't worry - As mentioned before, we're working on the Note also
As for the kernel, we were waiting on 3.4 to be "ready". It's now the case, and we started the real work, codeworkx, me, Espjenfo and Entropy all together
Cannot wait to see what u guys have got under your sleeves. My gs2 runs amazingly on cm9 crept for some battery life issues. But thanks a lot for all you've done just for free
I'd help if I could
CM9 on the S3 would be amazing.
Hope there isn't any troubles rooting it like there was on the Note? S2 was simple to do
Doesn't cyanogen work for samsung? It seems like he would get one for free either way.
I was under the impression that teamhacksung is at odds with Samsung
All i see on twitter feeds are disgruntle posts about not having access to the source

[Ref] Note 2 Dev List the Unofficial.

This is the unofficial thread to find the list of developers for the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
If you are a developer and or ROM maker/cooker would like to confirm that you are going to dev on this device please send me a pm, and I will add you to the list. In past experiences these types of threads have shown to be very helpful to build dev support for a device, and also to help people decide on a device.
What, actually is the list for?
Basically its for people and devs to see all the dev support the device will have. This sometimes is the deciding factor for getting a phone. If there's huge dev support more people will come. This makes it easier for people to find information on what devs will be supporting the note 2.
To pm me and get added to the list Click Here.

Hi,
Thanks for starting this thread. I just want to ask "Do you think there be a lot of development for this phone?" Particularly for Note II, in general for future Samsung phones.
I just finished watching this video here or here and I just heard about some developers leaving Samsung altogether? Samsung locking bootloaders? Samsung getting too big for their own ego?
I currently own the Int'l N7000 and I found the development to be good for what I want. I didn't check out the i717 thread but I assume they are fair.
I'm not really experienced in rooting but I found Samsung Note to be fairly straight forward. I recently rooted an HTC Amaze 4G and the numerous steps plus the lack of info made me never to buy an HTC phone (even if I do like the HTC One X, my friend has the North American version and he said development is low there).
This is one reason why I'm holding out on the Note II until Feb 2013, maybe even Sept 2013 (in case Note 3) comes out because I want to see how the development plays out.
I know the phone just came out, but I assumed International Note development should be all hunky dory but I never know. Makes me not want to switch devices. I had an Int'l Galaxy S2 previously and development for that is great!
I hear Sony development is awesome. But then, I think I'll just go get a Nexus for ease of development (but the screen is so small!)
What do you guys think?

thanks leafsacc, I wasn't aware of this until now. I'm still not sure what's going on but I assumed there would be a way around a bootloader, as coders always find a way :highfive:
but reading the below, says it could have been verizon which was the cause of the bootloader, not samsung. so why is xdadevtv directing his video to samsung? is it because no open source was given for the s3? has it still not been released? will it be? anyone care to sum it up for some of us who aren't in the know? :>
Based on Samsung’s track record of always shipping devices with unlocked bootloaders, we can all safely deduce that Verizon is the one to blame here.

For starters cm will not support n7100 if samsung dont change their ways. atleast the current dev team in cm will not support newer samsung exynos devices. i9300/n80xx was the last. Only way to get n7100 supported is if samsung cooperate or a new dev join cm dev team.
Without cm support i cannot do my paranoidandroid from source as I do with n7000. Time will tell if some new dev join cm samsung team or samsung get their act together. Dont look good though.

You still need one of the dev maintaining exynos devices to buy n7100 and then maintaining it... we can hope for someone to step up but its their freetime and money. Entropy512 told me he would be buying at&t version which is nearly identical if samsung would change their behavior. All we can do for now is to sit and wait...

This is a great thread. I hope more chefs will chime in.
I am considering a Note II but it is absolutely vital that CM is developed for it, together with Paranoid Android. Especially since Key Lime Pie (CM11?) is be around the corner.
I also think it is important with AOSP/AOKP development for it.
So I hope the issue will be sorted during this month. If not, I am afraid that I have to consider a different game plan.
Buying a device without proper developer support is a no go for me.
For everyone woundering about my sources here is a statement from Entropy512:
Entropy512 said:
Not likely to happen. If CM comes to the Note 2, it will only be if a new maintainer steps up.
Most of the current Exynos maintainer team (myself, espenfjo, codeworkx) and others have all decided that our current devices will be our last non-Nexus Exynos devices. I'm not sure about xplodwild, but I have a feeling he's highly unlikely to take up another Haxxinos with the rest of us gone and given his prior experiences with it.
If Samsung changes their attitude towards developers, this might change, but their attitude lately (zero documentation, zero platform source code, a trend towards bootloader locking - Only the Verizon S3 has a locked bootloader now, but Samsung has had the infrastructure in place since the S2 and they are constantly adding more checks) has led to the current Exynos maintainer team deciding that enough is enough. I don't think any of us are going to do anything to make Samsung's Exynos devices more attractive to any particular market segment until they provide assistance (in the form of technical documentation and source code) in return. I don't know about the others, but if they offer me a free device I'll say no - I refuse to participate in a PR stunt like the I9100 donations were.
Pretty much the only way I'll go back is if I see reference platform source that is up to the same standards as CAF and omapzoom, or they actually start providing real documentation and source code for the devices I'm currently working with.

Thanks entwicklun,
I Googled "verizon locked bootloader samsung galaxy note" and from what I understand that it was Verizon's request to lock the bootloader. Not sure what I would do if I was Samsung but my guess is, if it helps sell more phones on Verizon then lock the boot loader. Money talks, right?
But then I'm hearing news about Samsung not giving developers this and that, just like the example below.

And I also need a phone that will have Paranoid Android (and the odd CM here and there), but it must also a 5" phablet. I guess there is nothing wrong with my current Note, but again by searching on Google there's a possibility that the "next big thing" might be the HTC Google Nexus X+. If that has an expansion card slot, that's it, I'm not getting the Note 2.

Anyways, I think devving for this device would initially start with kanged TW based ROMs. With CM wary on supporting the device, it does seem a bit dark but hey, I am sure there are others to step up.

I am the same, an expansion card slot is a big plus.
development support is also a big factor.
I would flash aokp right now but i'm so scared of emmc bug (which I assume will not be in the Note 2 just like it did not exist in GB ROM Notes. But who knows if "Key Lime Pie/Kandy Kane" might have a similar brick bug) on ICS kangs that I just stay far, far, away.
My ultimate fav is CassiesXtraLite so it's good to see thering1975 on the list.

Samsung details Jelly Bean upgrade roadmap - Galaxy Tab 10.1/10.1v is not on the list

Our beloved tablet Galaxy 10.1/10.1.v never going to get official JB upgrade by Samsung!
Source Link:
http://www.slashgear.com/samsung-details-jelly-bean-upgrade-roadmap-and-its-not-all-good-24248943/
I know this is not Android development post, but I just want to make sure our beloved developers know the news, and they are the only ones left now that can bring fully functional JB ROMs to our tablet. I really hope they can start spending more time on JB ROM development.
Your justification/reason for posting this in the development section is definitely not sufficient.
I am disappointed by Samsung not upgrading GT 10.1 for three reasons
1. GT 10.1 was released *after* GS2, and GS2 gets JB.
2. GT 2 10.1 is so similar to GT 10.1, that if Samsung just pays a little more effort, they can upgrade GT 10.1, too.
3. GT 10.1 was a flagship device, just last year.
Probably it is because GT 10.1 did not sell well as Samsung expected, due to iPad or all that Apple legal stuff. Well, but I can still enjoy GT 10.1 as it is (4.0). And I hope Samsung would release a bigger and faster one (like 12 inch or something). Then I would sell GT 10.1 cheaply and move on to that device.
Well it is ok, i hate touchwiz as a lot of people and we have good developers that will bring CM10 full functionally, but it is mean that probably we will have problems with drivers for futures updates.
start a facebook and twitter protest along with a youtube video
I bet they will pay attention. At the least force them to release the code so others can develop it.
The points made above are very valid.
I though part of the Google agreement was devices had to be upgradeable for up to 18 months for something like that.
You think a company like Samsung would have learned from Microsoft to make their devices and software work for all of their hardware just like installing MS Windows across different brands.

That is what Google stated at I/O 2011. So this makes me wonder... 18 months from when the GTab 10.1 I/O released (March 2011) or when it released in the US (June 2011), international (July 2011;not sure cause I didn't pay attention to that release). We are within that window when they said that JB will release in Q4 for the listed devices. We are DEFINITELY in that window from when JB was announced.
That will teach us, samsung is fast abandoning devices as well as releasing them. Note to self, next time stick to everything nexus.

I agree about touchwiz, but you have to think like this: they need to release JB, so that our developer can get all the required drivers for camera and other stuff. This makes development much faster. If you check current Alpha/Experimental CM10 JB ROMs, front cam not working.
I felt really bad when I read the news, because I still really like my Galaxy Tab 10.1 even if it is 1 year old.

Yes but i think 3.1 kernel its only for P7500 i have the P7510 wifi version, someplace i look for an experimental kernel 3.1 but microphone doesnt work.
Samsung are truly morons with this crap. The Tab was my last chance with them and they just blew it.. This was their 3rd strike. My 2 year old Nexus S 4G with 512mb of RAM gets an official JB upgrade from Google (and runs great) yet the tab with a dual core and 1gb of RAM Samsung decide to skip over. Google is all about getting the most out of a product and Samsung (who ironically makes the Nexus S) is all about getting the most out of your wallet.
I had a hunch this was going to happen, but I'm still annoyed. Not so much because I can't just root, etc..... but the fact that they've given the finger to those that bought it while they support older products still. Samsung was even present when Google announced the "Android Update Alliance". Um........... atleast give us working drivers, etc.

The 3.1 kernel Samsung released is for both P7500 and P7510. If you're running official ICS now, you're using 3.1 kernel.
Figured as much.
But, my Tab with ICS and Nova launcher absolutely rocks, so to be honest, I'm not really that disappointed.

it is official news from Samsung. I just need to find the official press release link and post here. They did not say no JB for Galaxy Tab 10.1, but they did NOT included it on their JB road-map for this year and next year, so this should tell you something, unless Samsung decides to include it at last minute.
The only comments seen publically are from sites other than samsun. Sammobile is not an official site and their source was not samsung either. Suggest you all calm down. Besides, it would be like expecting win7to run on a win 95 computer expecting updates for ever more

Difficult to develop for GS4?

Do all these new sensors and proprietary software (camera features, gesture features, etc) make it more difficult to develop customs ROMs for the gs4? Or will we just get ROMs that don't use all these new features and sensors

take a look at i9300 sgs3 development section,

If it's anything like the Note 2 you will loss any Samsung tweaks if you go with a non-touchwiz Rom. Even GPS and bluetooth is a little hairy on Aosp or cyanogenmod Roms. But each phone/team working on the Rom is different. I'm actually sticking with a custom touchwiz Rom because I need the reliability for a business trip this upcoming week.
And it will be extreme luck if the IR sensor works without Samsung's framework. The IR port is the one thing I've been dying for to make a come back. I would actually pay $20 for a fully programmable IR app that has the same functionality of one of those expensive Logitech models.
The development scene for Samsung phones has been huge and vibrant. Samsung is nice about keeping things unlocked and releasing source code, and while it may take time for AOSP/CM/AOKP ROM's to be fully functional and stable the S4 will have plenty of custom ROM's in its future.

I have no doubt that the S4 will get AOSP/CM/AOKP roms but the OP question was about the sensors. You got temp sensor, IR sensor, hover with finger sensor, and some of the camera tweaks. I don't think those Roms will have the sensor fully functionals. That's the issue I have right now on my Note 2. I love the cleanness of a stock Android Rom but I miss it when a note automatically pops up when the s-pen is removed. And battery life on touchwiz Roms appear to be better. These are choices we're going to have to make.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that entirely part of the launcher and TouchWiz apps rather than the ROM?

You hit the nail on the head my friend. I am looking to run stock android jelly bean on my next device.
I had a nexus s for my first android phone and I took it for granted how amazingly easy it was to flash not only roms but radios, kernels, basically anything. And I just love stock android.
I am now on an HTC rezound. While I do like it, I sorely miss stock android and flashing away at will. Already had quite a few flashing mishaps.
If I am forced to run touchwiz to use all these new features, then I'm not going to pay attention to the features when choosing my next device.
This wouldn't even be an issue if the LG nexus was released on Verizon.
Ugh, looks like I'm still waiting.
Rezound, s-off, loving it.

Actually it depends on the feature.. Some of the features see baked into the framework apk others have individual apps... None of them are launcher dependent.. However all of these together make a ROM.. So I don't know you are referring to??

Most experienced developers are leaving Samsung for manufacturers that don't treat them like **** (see the Superbrick fiasco), leaving only the "me-too" smali-hack-kangs and a very small number of experienced competent developers like Andrei.
Quality, not quantity - most of the stuff in the I9100 and I9300 forums is crap, people who took a Touchwizz base, themed it, made some build.prop hacks, and called it a whole new firmware package. They're lucky in that Touchwizz is so bad that it's easy to improve upon it.
Compare to, for example, the Xperia T where there are 5-10 or more developers all contributing as a team to something that only has two threads (One for CM10, one for CM10.1) There aren't many people working with Sony stock firmwares because, honestly, it's REALLY hard to improve upon them because they're so good to begin with. Most of the few things that can be improved are achievable with simple TiBu freezes, no smali hacking required.
I think it'll make AOSP (CM/AOKP) hard to develop but there super people! I'm sure they'll figure it out and help!
However Touchwiz ROM's could be pulled and edited! We won't lose any features/it won't be hard.

Project Butter in Exynos 4210 devices (eg. Note & S2) is still broken until today and will never be solved.
A technically inferior Galaxy Nexus is superior to the Note. Take that for a change.
You have no idea how frustrated and angry are we people targeting Samsung in the Note & S2 forums.
I swore never to buy anymore Exynos devices after this fiasco.

Only for developers that want to wipe Samsung off the phone. Which I don't understand since most of the new hardware features require drivers Samsung rightfully will not release. For the longest time and to this day you could not get the FM radio to work on CM without buying a $10 Spirit radio app.
I'm sure there will be plenty of developers that will develop deoxed custom ROMs and great kernels with tweaks OCing etc. . Omega already to jump in. The only custom ROM's I've ever used were that of STOCK ROM development where features could be enhanced and drivers would not be a problem. CM always seems to have something missing or not working.
Why buy a Samsung device and then wipe it clean of all the great features? Just buy a Nexus 4
That said. I don't mind running an ASOP ROM on my Nexus 7 I will be glad to get rid of when Samsung releases the 6.5" Note 3.
For many a stock base is good enough with a custom launcher. This is a very very small community. I know at least 12 people with an S 3and 6 with Notes. None of them even want their phones rooted.

I think GS4 & Note3 development will be pretty similar to GS2, Note, GS3 and Note2.
AFAIK, for example, the AOSP based ROMs don't really support the S-Pen on the Notes, but that's more app specific.
Cameras have long been, and will likely continue to be a problem. Video capture rates may be lower, features like both cameras, sound in pictures, smart scroll may not be supportable.
As always, for stock features, there will be stock based ROMs. Take your choice, features or AOSP based.
As with all the other Galaxy S class devices, there will be two main variants: International Exynos Octa & US/LTE/Qualcomm. ROMs, XDA forum sections and many issues will be different for each.
I predict that many ROM devs will continue to complain about the lack of Exynos info and source code. But they will develop, as best they can. I'd like to see Samsung open up more, Sony and Qualcomm are better at open-ness.
And there will be at least one other group for the Qualcomm variants; I'd hope the US carrier variants will all be able to run the same ROMs, but previous experience is different I guess.

Only reason I ask is that the i9300 get newer software updates vs the 8747 or t999. I was recently dead set on getting the i9500 but now it well be based more on development. The the ir blaster won't work km cm or aosp as it doesn't work on the note 10.1...Only touch wiz. Not really a big deal to me but I was Curtis as th where most devs are from that usually get the international ones. LTE to me means is reach my data cap sooner so hsdpa+ is plenty quick got me.

Yeah, I guess that's just for exynos based galaxy devices. My US S2 Variant has several 4.2.2 aosp roms. Aokp, cm10.1, pac, slim, rootbox etc. I assume the USA s4 will be similar.

Samsung. .please Give us 4.4 with the new UI

According to me Samsung will release 4.4 to 8.0 because the note:
- They want to force the customer to buy new equipment
4.4'll get if you come later android.
Here in Poland we have not yet even 4.2.2

There wont be any update to NOTE 8 from SAMSUNG - even 4.3 will not happen. Sad but true - NOTE 8 is sold out, hardly available on some markets already, popularitiy of N8 is weaker than original first NOTE 10,1 which also got till 4.1.2 only - and is also dead for SAMSUNG already.
You would think that Samsung would at least give us 4.3 for the smart watch integration. I thought that's why they pushed out the updates for the S3 and the Note 2.
Take matters into your own hands! CM 11 ~ Android 4.4.2
Samsung does not provide an update for Polish .. And I thought that Samsung is more concerned about the updates ..
If note 8 is obsolete. Why is there a no 8 inch note pro version?..
I think the 8.4 pro version would be the most sold of the 4 new tablets announced
I believe we should get atleast 4.3 with trim and gear support. .. More useful for the n5100 with phone capabilities than a note 3 or s4
I don't care if they don't release update for a particular country as long as you can flash another country update using Odin

Not that any of the chit-chat in here is going to make any difference of what Samsung has already planned but imo, i guess this is the end of the line for note 8, as much as we all would like to think it isn't, even if it's way too early but oh well ... note 10.1 had 4.1.2 as the end of it's line, long dropped when it could've support all the newer android versions but it's all about marketing * forthe 2014 edition one*, so i guess we're waiting for almost a miracle to get 4.3 or jump to 4.4 according to samsung's policy, the only hope is that there isn't a newer note except that freaking large 12.2 or the bit older note 10.1 (2014) edition
i know i could easily flash any of the avaliable custom roms but touchwiz as much as most of us hate it is loaded with cool features "even if most of the time aren't used* that is missed on stock android
I got my 8.0 as a gift from the wife which is carrier based so I am on 4.1.2 and it don't seem like At&t will update any android tablets at all especially Samsung since it seems they rip apart the updates anyway and take away key features like galaxy gear support and Knox container.

I understand that wish, but the chance that we get this ****ty KNOX or Region Lock with 4.3/4.4 is very high, so no, please no update
On the news of GSMArena i read that note 8 will update to android 5 and after that possibility.
But i disappointed with samsung about updates...

If they cared about Note 8 device itself, they would already launch an update together with Note 2/S3 in order to get more possible GEAR buyers. I quess for that price they were selling N8 - sold qtys were too small to keep Samsung maintaining this device at fresh state. S3/N2 sold milions so possible customer base for GEAR was much higher - therefore the rush. With the army of new 2014 tablets, if N8 will get 4.3 we could be happy - but do not expect any new software (S-NOTE ot that new UI from them). We will just get old software base same as N2 got with 4,3 update - it hasnt new Snote officially like N3, (but it is possible to run - thats another story.)
I am also going back to 4.1.2 - some quirks that they disabled in 4.2.2 update make me not more happy than lockscreen widgets - so i am reverting back also because of TabletUi. And already searching for 8" Windows 8 tablet - as soon as ASUS Note8 will be out, i might get it if there will be 3G version (but doesnt have hdmi, pity). I wont buy any other Android tablet anymore - i still need more desktop to use, 3G and JumpDesktop via RDP to my server makes Note8 perfect companion, but it will be better to run my programs natively on the go and i can ditch S-Note app to full MS ONE NOTE and full Excel layout compatibility with my customers.
If samsung didn't provide an 4.4 update for the note 8 thise will be the last samsung device i'll buy n i don't wanna hear some hardware **** compatibility i've had enough from the frist galaxy
So say goodbye to your galaxy, because we will not see any more updates past 4.2.2.

Have you tried Civato's 4.2.2? Been my DD for a while now and does quite well for me. VNC works well to work laptop so connection has been smooth.
As far as Win8 goes I've been running the Dell Venue Pro 8 (64Gb on board and 64Gb uSD) for a couple months and must say Dell did this right. Odd size 8.3 screen so cases and protectors a challenge. Great screen, very snappy processor and overall a great buy. (got mine for $320) You might want to look at it.

A big reason why I didn't care as much for the unveiled TabXPros they launched. They aren't supporting the tablet they overcharged for last spring, why should I buy another tablet from them?
And I was mulling the GPe G-Pad and the N8.4Pro, easier decision now.

what, if you watched some of CES 2014 presentations, Samsung bring with new 4.4 UI that never going to make it to CM 11. Don't take me wrong I love what CM does, but i have love and hate relationship with Samsung and its flagship UI (TouchWiz, or new UI called Magazine UI)...
In addition, there's, as far as I can see, no stable CM 11 version for Note 8, except BeanStalk 4.3's CM based ROM, but still nothing officially supported. if you check Note 8 developer section, you will see there's not a lot of development going on for our note 8 tablet.
unless some brave developer(s) jump in and port Note 3 4.3 stock ROM to our Note 8.0
@sbrissen doing a great job with Official CM, so one Developer is there @civato for a stockbased ROM, two developer are here @ryukiri make OMNI for us, in future (when this odd storage problem is fixxed) OMNI is Official.
Offcource there are more Devs, great Devs, but this Three are the popular in the Note 8 Section (since i am lurking here )
A port from the Note 3 is really, really bad ass hard work. You musst port them over from Quallcomm to Exynos, thats really hard. So don't expect this.
The only thing i missed is a Custom Kernel like civatos for CM

I'm willing to attempt to make a custom kernel this summer when I have more free time. Right now, I'm super pressed on time due to loads of school work, tests, and stuff.
And to clarify some confusion, Omni IS official for us right now, just no nightlies yet as I'm still working on adding support in the kernel. Also, PAC 4.4 will be official when everything is ready. (We're all working to add new features and stabilizing stuff to give you guys the best possible experience).
