[Q] Help with custom rom? (Verizon LG G2) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have already rooted my g2 and installed twrp, i also downloaded clean rom 1.0 which you can find in the roms section but how do i flash it? I've never flashed a rom before? This is my first time ever doing anything besides putting a launcher on my phone. So when i downloaded that rom i transferred it into a ROM folder and than transferred it onto my G2, i can see it when i go into recovery and when i click on it a whole bunch of things pop up. So my question is, what do i select once im in the Rom folder to flash it?

Open twrp wipe .. If you read the cleanrom op. There's a setting for faster wipes. Once its done wiping click install. Find your ROM. If you can't find it click "up a level' see if you can find it there. Then click on clean ROM and swipe to install. Is should take 5 min to install when its done reboot.. #BOOM you're in

Need help removing SaberMod

hello XDA,
I recently purchased a nexus 4 from someone on craigslist. the phone came with something called sabermod and ive never used it before. i have tried flashing the factory image with the nexus 4 toolkit and using command prompt and the sabermod still persist. I need some help returning the phone to stock. Sabermod also doesnt give me the play store in the app drawer.
Thank you guys in advanced
OK sounds like the person never flashed the gapps. Download these http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=rasbeanjelly&device=gapps
Reboot into your custom recovery and flash them. Reboot and play store should be there.
Try SaberMod it's a good ROM.

Yes if you want to you can also download the latest SaberMod update and flash that first then flash the gapps. Or just the gapps if you want.

If you want to remove SaberMod, you can flash a ROM over it. Check out the sticky. It's extremely helpful. As you will see at the top of that thread, and in every thread that contains flashable zips, no-one is responsible for damage done to your device via flashing except for you. Nothing bad should happen if you follow that thread to the T. If nothing else, just read it, it will give you all sorts of information about the process.

is the google stock image considered a rom? if so i have tried that X_X
This is a stock flashable image https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B76WZ1xWiSuNWW1vNFdTVUtjaTQ/preview?pli=1
This is a stock ODEXED flashable rooted image.
Please read up on flashing. You need to do full wipe so take your time and learn along the way.

TWRP unable to load for anyone else? Have to try multiple times

I flash TWRP using goo manager a few days ago. TWRP starts in blue splash screen and nothing happens. I have to reboot and retry a few times for it to eventually get into the menu / options.
Why don't you try CWM

Twrp sometimes takes a few minutes to boot for me. Sometimes taking out the SD card seems to speed it up. But yeah drives me nuts.

2.6.0.0 and 2.6.1.0 seem to both do that for many folks.
People seem to have the best luck with 2.5.0.2. Here's a flashable zip of that version:

Never had TWRP just not start at all. 2.6.0 was slow to load, as noted above, but did load every time. I'm running the latest now, 2.6.3, and it seems to load quicker.
I was able to use it for a few days with the power and volume up key no problem. Then when I tried to go into the recovery it would not load several times and I thought I have no recovery. Then I went into the program goo manager and was able to easily launch the recovery from there. Hope that helps someone get back into a working recovery.

[Q] LG G2 Rooted & Unlocked & Lost...

I've searched, but only found the complete instructions, not just to start where I am now...
I have a "like new" LG G2 that I bought. It came unlocked and rooted with CyanogenMod. Without having done the rooting myself from the beginning, I'm not sure what all I need. Can someone tell me (or point to the correct thread) what I need to load to my phone to be able to flash another ROM if I'd like?
I'd like to go the a clean AT&T ROM, or another possibly. I have confirmed that it is rooted and unlocked. It's been a couple of years since I've rooted anything. The phone came with terminal emulator on it, but that's it other than the standard apps.
Thx up front for any help

You should have everything that you "need" if there is a custom ROM on there. Download clean ROM and the gapps and follow how they want you to install it.
Reboot into recovery and wipe your data. Then flash the ROM zip file, then gapps

I should do it all from my phone then?

Yes. If you can't hold the power button and boot into recovery (on some cm Roms you need to activate advanced boot in Dev options) I used ROM toolbox lite. For making back ups. Freezing apps, and there is a button you can click on to boot into recovery.
For whatever reason. Going into twrp and trying to make a back up with never work. But when I would use ROM toolbox and click on make a backup there, they all restored flawlessly

Just boot into recovery and flash away. Always back up and never wipe internal data and you should be good to go.
I always made sure I kept a working ROM zip file downloaded as well. If you wipe and go to install a zip and it is borked. And your backup some how gets corrupted, you will always have that third option before having to push a ROM or factory reset.

Ok, so everything worked perfectly on the flashing. All is good to go and very happy...!
I have added about 2gb of data to the phone. LG G2 with 32gb total. I have about 18.6gb free space left...is that typical, or do you believe I have a lot of extra debris that I should remove from internal storage?
Thx Again

[Q] Wiped Everything, How to Recover?

I wiped everything in TWRP, Now all I can do is go to the LG screen start screen and back into TWRP.
I have a D803, is my best method of recovery to do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Were you just trying to factory reset? You might have wiped system as well. If so, you would need to flash another ROM. But if you literally wiped everything, then that means you wiped internal storage, too. Which means you will not have anything to flash in twrp. Therefore, yes, you will have to use the flash tool in that link, and flash the stock image

Awesome, Thanks. I knew I was doing something wrong, when I wiped it. But I guess I get to learn a little more, the hard way.
If you haven't ran lg stock tool yet you can sideload a ROM using adb. Hold on and let me find the link. That way you don't lose root or twrp

No, thank you for the follow up though.
It just happened that when I did this I was one day into a 7 day shift at work(a mining camp) and for some reason the LG Mobile Upgrade Tool won't install on my computer, which I think is because of the networks here.
So I am really hoping that it will install when I get home, It installs to 10% then stops and the only info I can find on the problem is to try deleting all other LG apps first and changing Firewall/proxy settings, which I cannot change here.
If you have any other ideas that would be appreciated. I asked LG on their website for any help with the app install.

Thanks, I never saw this post, I am a real beginner at all of this, can I really just sideload a ROM, because the other method is the kdz file. I only question this, because one file is 211MB and the other is 1.8GB am I missing something else? Also if sideloading does not work, can I still try the flash method after? Im not worried about losing root or twrp, as they are very easy to reinstall.
Hey Guys,
It took me a little while, but it worked perfectly. Thank you for your help.

Great job
Hey -- Great job. I had absolutely no issues loading the ROM with CWM and then doing the initial startup configuration (including voicemail). After that, all my apps installed like a breeze (even the Z Launcher TouchWiz replacement). Now, the WiFi tether works like a dream and it's actually faster to use than the stock rom.
My only wish is that I could make Mercury the default browser because even Chrome is a little touchy on sites like XDA and Reddit. Anyway -- great job on this port and on how solid it is.

Did you have the same issue on CM11? I did. The only fix I found was to flash a Touchwiz rom and connect the GPS once booted up. Then, leaving the GPS on, flash back to CM. So far the fix has stuck through many reboots.

GPS Working
Hey thannks very much for the help. The method using sourceforge files worked perfectly.. Evrything is working on this rom until i bounce up on something else..
I don't know much about the process of a flashed phone as my Sprint S4 is flashed to Boost Mobile... I can't get this Ron to work properly although I haven't done an internal wipe... unless Phils Recovery factory wipe for a new Rom does that... but if not would an internal wipe affect the flash at all?
