[Q] Wiped Everything, How to Recover? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wiped everything in TWRP, Now all I can do is go to the LG screen start screen and back into TWRP.
I have a D803, is my best method of recovery to do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

Were you just trying to factory reset? You might have wiped system as well. If so, you would need to flash another ROM. But if you literally wiped everything, then that means you wiped internal storage, too. Which means you will not have anything to flash in twrp. Therefore, yes, you will have to use the flash tool in that link, and flash the stock image

Awesome, Thanks. I knew I was doing something wrong, when I wiped it. But I guess I get to learn a little more, the hard way.

If you haven't ran lg stock tool yet you can sideload a ROM using adb. Hold on and let me find the link. That way you don't lose root or twrp

Just follow instructions. Its from HTC one thread but it works on all devices. If you're device shows up on adb.

No problem. So are you up and running? All fixed?
Sent from my LG-D801 using xda app-developers app

No, thank you for the follow up though.
It just happened that when I did this I was one day into a 7 day shift at work(a mining camp) and for some reason the LG Mobile Upgrade Tool won't install on my computer, which I think is because of the networks here.
So I am really hoping that it will install when I get home, It installs to 10% then stops and the only info I can find on the problem is to try deleting all other LG apps first and changing Firewall/proxy settings, which I cannot change here.
If you have any other ideas that would be appreciated. I asked LG on their website for any help with the app install.

Thanks, I never saw this post, I am a real beginner at all of this, can I really just sideload a ROM, because the other method is the kdz file. I only question this, because one file is 211MB and the other is 1.8GB am I missing something else? Also if sideloading does not work, can I still try the flash method after? Im not worried about losing root or twrp, as they are very easy to reinstall.

Hey Guys,
It took me a little while, but it worked perfectly. Thank you for your help.

Need help removing SaberMod

hello XDA,
I recently purchased a nexus 4 from someone on craigslist. the phone came with something called sabermod and ive never used it before. i have tried flashing the factory image with the nexus 4 toolkit and using command prompt and the sabermod still persist. I need some help returning the phone to stock. Sabermod also doesnt give me the play store in the app drawer.
Thank you guys in advanced
OK sounds like the person never flashed the gapps. Download these http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=rasbeanjelly&device=gapps
Reboot into your custom recovery and flash them. Reboot and play store should be there.
Try SaberMod it's a good ROM.

Yes if you want to you can also download the latest SaberMod update and flash that first then flash the gapps. Or just the gapps if you want.

If you want to remove SaberMod, you can flash a ROM over it. Check out the sticky. It's extremely helpful. As you will see at the top of that thread, and in every thread that contains flashable zips, no-one is responsible for damage done to your device via flashing except for you. Nothing bad should happen if you follow that thread to the T. If nothing else, just read it, it will give you all sorts of information about the process.

is the google stock image considered a rom? if so i have tried that X_X
This is a stock flashable image https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B76WZ1xWiSuNWW1vNFdTVUtjaTQ/preview?pli=1
This is a stock ODEXED flashable rooted image.
Please read up on flashing. You need to do full wipe so take your time and learn along the way.

[Q] Help after flashing

so i flashed my gs4 with the google version rom, it boot up fine, but then i turned off my phone and it will not boot anymore. i have to do a full factory wiped all the time to get it to boot...
So you flashed the rom, patched it, booted up, used it for awhile. Then turned it off and when you turned it back on it wouldn't boot without a factory reset? Weird. I'd try to reflash it doing all the wipes first and see if that works.

Yep, just downloaded version 1.3 of the rom, doing the same...just frozen at the samsung (unlock icon) screen that show up before the google boot up screen...
so just to make sure i am doing this correct:
i reboot to the TWRP recovery page, then do a full wipe, then install the rom.zizp, then install the loki.zip, then reboot system...right?

Well, give it another try. Re download the rom and Loki. When you download them look for a long alpha-numerical number that's on the download site. That's the md5. After you download the file you can check the file properties to see if the md5 is the same as what it said on the download site. You'll probably need a md5 checksum app if you don't already have one. If the md5's check out you know you got a good download. It's not uncommon that the download isn't good. If you use root explorer or a similar file manager on you phone, long pressing the file will let you check the files properties and you'll see the md5

what model number are you? what wipe functions are you currently performing?
if i was doing this atm, i would wipe data, cache, dalvik and system. flash rom and ktoonsez loki'd TouchWiz kernel if you're at&t. wipe data, cache and dalvik again. reboot. let the device sit a few minutes and reboot it to see if it successfully boots in.
Google Play Edition Stuck on Reboot
If you are stuck on the boot screen after flashing the ROM and rebooting, go into the recovery and wipe the cache partition and dalvik cache partition 5 times then reboot. Every reboot after this should be fine.

[Q] LG G2 Rooted & Unlocked & Lost...

I've searched, but only found the complete instructions, not just to start where I am now...
I have a "like new" LG G2 that I bought. It came unlocked and rooted with CyanogenMod. Without having done the rooting myself from the beginning, I'm not sure what all I need. Can someone tell me (or point to the correct thread) what I need to load to my phone to be able to flash another ROM if I'd like?
I'd like to go the a clean AT&T ROM, or another possibly. I have confirmed that it is rooted and unlocked. It's been a couple of years since I've rooted anything. The phone came with terminal emulator on it, but that's it other than the standard apps.
Thx up front for any help

Yes. If you can't hold the power button and boot into recovery (on some cm Roms you need to activate advanced boot in Dev options) I used ROM toolbox lite. For making back ups. Freezing apps, and there is a button you can click on to boot into recovery.
For whatever reason. Going into twrp and trying to make a back up with never work. But when I would use ROM toolbox and click on make a backup there, they all restored flawlessly

Just boot into recovery and flash away. Always back up and never wipe internal data and you should be good to go.
I always made sure I kept a working ROM zip file downloaded as well. If you wipe and go to install a zip and it is borked. And your backup some how gets corrupted, you will always have that third option before having to push a ROM or factory reset.

Just use kindle fire first aid, put the device in fastboot mode first, easy way of doing that is booting into twrp and hitting reboot>bootloader. From there kffa will restore the system to stock amazon rooted. Not sure if it restored stock recovery though.

OK that is probably a driver issue, check the device manager for a device with a yellow triangle next to it and try updating its drivers to the ones in my signature. I can't stand using my kindle with windows, seems every time I go between cm, recovery, and fastboot I have to uninstall the device and let it reinstall it again.

Once you have flashed TWRP you can only return to stock using fastboot. Whether you use something like a system restore tool or just push the images in fastboot you still need to start with a fastboot cord.
1. Fastboot cord.
2. download system restore tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
3. You also need to download the SDK package and set paths in your environment for fastboot.exe and adb.exe. Here is a video tutorial to assist you with that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaNM-lt_aHw
ok you say it dont work but thats exactlly what i did and mine did just what i said i flashed hashcodes stock rom then let it update. the update took my root and recovery away. had no problems. but every kindle reacts differently to different things so i dont know what to say.

also i think i used the 7.3.0 stock flashable rom. Also you if you can find the orignal thread for disabling ota updates there should be a script to enable the ota updates . you can try that. otherwise you are gonna have to use the fastboot cable and restore tool like linear equation said.

Here's a link to Philz custom cwm recovery....just flash in recovery also supports 4.4. .......I think for your build people might be using the no longer supported unofficial 2.6.3.4 twrp in android development by Wootsever

Thanks! Got it working! I'm on 4.4 now. Truly appreciate all the help.. One last thing though. Lol. I COMPLETELY forgot to backup stock ROM with this new recovery! Have a recovery for twrp but I'm sure that doesn't work with philz CWM? Can I find my stock ROM anywhere again? My 4.2.2 OTA D80110g ROM? Lol. I'm a moron! Anyway TRULY appreciate the help REALLY needed it. Thanks again and keep on kicking ass. Lol

Nice man good to hear, once your setup boot back into recovery and make a backup then reboot to rom...and your good to go....also if you want to have a stock ROM on hand best thing would be probably download a stock ROM and just hold on to it...thanks man.....and the twrp backup won't work so just make a new one

Yea. Root checker says no root and SU says I need to update binary but won't let me and I don't even know how to get into recovery. Should've just stayed unrooted till I understood more about this stuff. I'm completely lost. Still tinkering though hopefully I fix it
