I've been reading the threads about the blue ring around the camera lense but mine doesn't seem to come off and I'm afraid to force it. Is this ring supposed to be on the Verizon version. If possible can someone post a pic of the back the the Verizon G2 so I can see if mine is the blue ring that is supposed to come off or the actual camera lol. Don't want to break anything.

There is a blue ring though, just want to make sure it should be that way on Verizon version.

Take a razor blade or exacto knife and slide it under and it'll come off easily
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk 4
... or just use a piece of adhesive tape, place it over the blue, and gently pull it off.
Listen...if there is something that can come off,it will come off easily. If it doesnt, its not supposed to come off...Dont do somehting stupid that might ruin your phone, and never use force of any kind.
Verizon phone here and I took my blue ring off.. It was just from the stock plastics...

No! There's never a reason to take a razor to a phone. Unless you want to scratch it.
As others have said you'd know if the blue ring was there and it comes off easy. Mine fell off in my pocket.
I agree that I shouldn't force it off but here is a pic of the back just to clarify. Anyone with Verizon, should it look like this or is this the blue ring that should come off. My wife has it on hers as well and it doesn't look like it peels off.

Yea, I have the Verizon version and my blue sticker won't come off either. I've decided to just leave it. Bedsides, I think it looks kind of cool plus it has the added benefit of protecting the area from scratches (if you want to justify it a tiny bit).
This is a different version than the usual ones that we all have and they peel off,i would just leave it as is.Even if it has a plastic it doesnt seem to bother the camera at all.
I have vzw g2, the blue ring comes off. Mine looked exactly like that when I got my phone. It comes off. There is also a piece of plastic over the volume buttons that comes off as well.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.
lol YES GUYS, the blue ring comes off! it's the protective plastic just so it won't scratch the chrome.
Thanks for all the feedback. Can't see how it will hurt keeping it on anyway but who knows

Try spraying it with cold water...
Box is very tight when removing the top cover. Be careful as the tablet is just underneath and it doesn't have much walls protecting it. So if the box was sideways as you were taking out the lid then the tablet might drop out of the box. Open the box on top of a table and keep the box leveled so the tablet cant slide out.
i have ordered a nexus and hope i can open the box quicker....

I had some initial trouble as well...you just have to keep trying to push the end of the box, while gripping the edges of the sleeve that covers it. Once you get it moving, it will slide off. Then, there are two black sealing stickers on each long side. Once you cut those, the box top is also a little tight, but you'll notice that there's room on the short edges to stick your finger underneath and pull the bottom of the box down. and voila...behold your Nexus 7.

I had to get the screen a little dirty to be able to get it to show in a pic, because it is only visible at certain angles. Even when the screen is perfectly clean it is visible. It's about a 2"x1" patch on the bottom right. I've owned my s4 for 6 months and it was purchased brand new. This has just appeared in the last month. Anyone seen this before and know what it is?

That looks like the texture of the material of whatever pocket you're keeping it in. It should just clean off unless the material is abrasive enough to actually start damaging the glass or the screen protector if you're using one.

The only thing that matches up to the pattern is the net lining in the pocket of my north face jacket. How does the lining of a coat melt the coating of a phone screen? Is this something that happens frequently? should I get an otterbox or something to prevent more of the screen from getting melted by the lining? this seems so bizarre. never had anything like this happen with my iphone pre-android.

I've noticed it's been getting warmer. That sounds plausible... I just dunno how to get it cooler (or if that's even a possiblity). It's like my little mini computer, I'm never on the desktop anymore. Figure I just smoke the poor thing.
So................
Here is the story:
I dented the back of my HTC One and literally could not believe it. I had only had it for a week and im so careful with my phones.
So I tired a few ways to remove the dent without taking the phone apart. Like heating the dent up and then putting something cold on it. This helped a little bit however I could still see this dent starring at me. So I took drastic measures.
I tried to take the phone apart. This didn't work to well and I ended up scratching up the speaker grills in the process.
So now my beautiful new One has a dent in the back and scratches on the grills on the front. I felt like crying.
I decided to take the hard decision to try and cover these scratches up and decided to spray paint the grills matte black.
This is how it turned out:

Looks quite stealthy however I feel it could be better so I'm going to try and see if I can get some dark glass cut in the same shape and replace the grills.
Still have my dent, but I guess I'll have to live with it.

It looks like that area is soft and is prone to scratches so a clear protector on that area sounds like a good idea
Especially if you are like me and have a a screen protector and also in a case it leaves those areas exposed

Thanks for posting the pics! I also did this last night - partially because I messed up one of the grille holes while trying to clear them out, and partially because I thought it looked interesting. I went with a matte paint too from Tamiya (model paint). I like the matte texture to prevent smudges and it's working great for that (especially the top one when I put it up to my ear!). Cut a couple of pieces of masking tape to cover the sensor window and camera lens so everything works fine. I only put a couple of coats on so that the grilles still look flat. Turned out pretty decent I think

I bought mine from Expansys. I had to change roms just to get LTE on the LTE model. so I voided my warranty by default. They offered to swap the handset, but I think they don't realise the g900m they sell doesn't ahve lte enabled, even after the OTA update. so I get to live with it. It's slowly shifting. eventually it will be away from the image sensor
I just really hope it's nothing to do with the water resistance. I'm already considering this may last samsung phone after 9 different galaxy s/note phones... luckily I don't typically bring it in water with my so it's not that big of a deal, but if it does happen and it leaks there.. samsung will be dead to me.
Mine was literally in the middle yesterday. So maybe by tomorrow it will be clear again. It's definitely related to heat. Either that or it wasn't glued in the first place.

ya, I've been debating about doing this tbh. I've changed glass before in other peoples' phones.. but I always had a new piece to replace the broken piece.. basically a spare.. I dont' have a spare if I mess up heh. ya I'll probably do this later. and maybe re-glue it lol...
I'm going to try this now heh.. will report back shortly. I took a look at a video online and it appears that the ring is accessible once the glass is removed...
---------- Post added at 05:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:47 PM ----------
so I just took that little o-ring out. wtf is it there for? lol, it was almost off the lens anyway. I only pried it open enough to get a needle in and take the ring out, I didn't take the whole thing off. I doubt it's as water resistant but who knows...
ADDITION: so it appears to narrow the field of view slightly. I don't take selfies, I may have a hangouts video call once a week (usually on my computer, but if I'm out I'd like to be able to do this..). I notice if my finger goes over the edge of the top of phone (but not over lens) it pics up my finger, where as it wouldn't have before.. big deal. I'd rather not have to take it apart again, so the ring is gone lol.
I hit it with the hair dryer once after pressing it down... going to do it again shortly, its' completely cooled. just hitting it again to be on the safe side. didn't cause any damage to phone so was rather easy just make sure to be patient. I had pry tools from old phones, but I wouldn't recommend taking the entire glass off with it...
Thanks for getting back to us and telling us how you got on.
