[Q] Anyway to implement these features? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

just wondering if there's a way to implement these features
Similar to LG G2 KnockOn Gestures
Double Tap screen to Screen Off
Double Tap screen to Screen On
Similar to Stock Android/CM?
Swipe up from Home Button to get access to Google Now/Recent Apps/Etc
I am using SwipePad now... but wondering if there's any other solutions

[Q] Home screen preview

Hi All
I understand that tapping my home button is meant to bring up a preview of all my home screens, but I tap repeatedly and nothing happens (the phone vibrates tho).
Is there some way to enable this?

You understand incorrectly. If you are looking for that feature you will need a third-party launcher.

If you're running the stock TW launcher then that feature isn't available. You need a 3rd party launcher like Launcher Pro for that feature.

home button alternative?

i tend to use stylus a lot and i can even use it on soft key buttons which is great, i always want to use home button function without pressing the actual button. Is there a motion gesture or anything similar that would allow me to go to home screen?
Basically i would like to avoid pressing the home button with finger all the time.

or you can use the one included in the note, just go settings and then accessibility, in there just activate the assistant menu it's pretty good

use swipe home button. Works perfectly with Spen. Just set sensitivity to large inside its settings if it is not that responsive.
thanks guys i liked the samsung accessibility one but i thought it was too laggy to open up and then its always floating
i then found perfect simple app called 'Home Button', its always in notifications and you simply click it
Try floating toucher on google play.
Gmd pen gestures. You create the gestures you need for whatever functions. I've got press pen button swipe down for notifications and up for home..

[Q] Can I get the home icon to return to the bottom of my screen

I have a galaxy tab 2 and just bought a galaxy tab 4 (mainly for mirroring). I hate using the push button on the 4 to get to my home screen. Is there a launcher or some work around where I can find a way not to have to push a button to get to my home screen? An improvement, but not an ideal one, would be to be able to put the home icon permanently in what I will call the "double box" screen to the left of the start button.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
JD
You could use nova launcher to help remap the three buttons at the bottom and it also has a setting to use custom gestures along with twin finger swiping. Somehow mine is set that if I swipe downward it goes directly to home screen. It is a really adaptive launcher with a lot if customizing I haven't unlocked yet..lol

Thanks to K and M for the suggestions. It turns out that I found a great product called button savior that does everything I want with the home button. Now I need to find a way to move Google Search from the bottom to the top of my screen, and I will be completely happy.

Soft Lock Option (without using power button)

Is there a native way to lock the phone using a double tap, widget, etc? Just looking for anything OTHER THAN a physical button to save wear and tear on the button. I prefer a soft button / widget, but if something is built-in, I could get used to it without having to add-on software.

Negative. No tap wake and no app. Said they were thinking about adding tap maybe in a future update
You can double home button or status bar to lock with Lineage. This function is configurable in settings, no need extra app.
If you choose to install Xposed, GravityBox has the option to dbl-tap status bar for.sleep
I use Screen Off and Lock from the playstore. If using the stock launcher, click on the icon to turn off/lock. If using Nova Launcher, set up the double tap to run the Screen off and lock program (in the Gestures & inputs). Been using it for years with no problems.

Tap to wake

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if there is an application or anything else that can allow tap (or double tap) to wake on a rooted Nexus10
Once I used Microsoft Launcher for a while, which had the ability to wake up by tapping the screen.

Thank you for your reply!
I can't seem to find an option to tap to unlock with the Microsoft Launcher
I can see the Tap To Lock option but not the other way around
Maybe you remember how you managed to do that?
Thanks again!
