Found this setting in QuickShortcutMaker. Has anyone seen it? I turned it on and got prompted for security setting and entered a pin. Now that's grayed out and doesn't turn on.

I keep getting the device lock keypad popping up whenever I power up my phone or every hour which is the setting I have. But now I want to disable it. I think it automatically got set due to an exchange server I was connecting to but now I don't need that anymore. The device lock setup won't let me clear the pin number. Is there a registry setting I could clear? Any help is appreciated.
Anyone found a way to disable exchange security yet? I have a school exchange account that forces me to put a PIN lock on. Every time I turn my screen on I have to enter a PIN, which is really really really annoying. I know there are hacks of WinMo and Android that disable this "feature".
I recently bought a Neptune Pine. Can anyone advise on how to remove the PIN lock that appears everytime it switches on or is 'woken up?
I know the PIN (I set it when exploring the settings) but it is a pain to have to type it in every time. But when I go to settings there is just the line that says 'Security' then below it 'PIN'. It first asks to confirm PIN (which I do) and then seems to go back to the same screen. I had been expecting a 'turn off PIN lock' option something, but no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Does you mean the PIN on lock screen or PIN for device encryption?
For PIN on lock screen, just go to Security > Screen lock and change to anything other than PIN. (Swipe or none) You have to input your existing PIN in order to change this setting.
Thanks but the problem is that after I put in the PIN from within settings, it goes to a menu where the only options open are PIN and PASSWORD. 'None' 'Slide' and 'pattern are all disabled....
Hi guys,
I got my Nexus 6P in australia yesterday and I was playing around with the settings. One of the things I wanted to enable was Now on Tap but everytime I try and enable it (either through holding the home button, or doing it through Settings), it won't enable! When I click Get Started, nothing happens. If i'm in the settings app, the toggle just turns off after I press Get Started. Does anyone know how to fix this so it works?
I'm on a custom google domain if that matters.
Thanks,
Snowled.
Hi,
I am having the same issue. Now on tap is available in Germany since this week. Did you get this fixed somehow or does it simply mean that it is not activated for me yet?
Thanks,
Vogli
I just got my Galaxy S7 Edge from AT&T yesterday. After going through setting up the phone, I have been absolutely loving it so far. The only issue I've come across has to do with the secure lock settings. I setup my fingerprint and added my corporate email account which requires authentication to unlock the device (which is fine because I like using the fingerprint unlock anyway). In the secure lock settings, I have it set to lock instantly when power button pressed or when screen times out. After a few unlocks the phone will no longer require I use my fingerprint and just asks me to swipe to unlock. When I go back to the secure lock settings, lock instantly is no longer selected. Rather, the option for "maximum" (which is oddly set to 34 minutes and 7 seconds) is what is selected. I change it back to lock instantly, but then after a while it reverts back to the maximum setting.
After some web searching, there was someone else with this issue, but it turned out to be their Smart Lock settings. I double checked on my phone and all Smart Lock settings are disabled. For the life of me I cannot figure out why the secure lock setting keeps changing.
