Has anyone looked into doing a wireless charging mod on the note 3? Sort of like the one for note 2 done by quite a few here at XDA. I see a lot of cheap wireless charging modules on ebay. Wondering if they would work or if the Note 2 hack can be modified for the Note 3? I have an HP touchpad wireless touchstone and would liek to use it for my note 3. I think it should be able to provide a high enough current to charge it at an acceptable rate.
Thanks
Isn't there going to be an optional back for the Note 3 from oems for this?

Yes there is but the appeal of doing a hack for me would be the price. I already have the touchstone and with another ~$12 or less in parts and I can have a wireless charging solution (I hope). Anyone know what pricepoint the optional charging back and charger (maybe both offered as part of a kit) would be?
I just bought it on eBay. Some China seller already has em...

No.
I had a insert for my Note 2 that I could put on top of the battery, but the pins on it didn't fit the Note 3.

Oops. Quite expensive. Does it add to the thickness of the phone? I just bought a spigen bounce case and so far I like it and would want to use it with a new back cover.

Yes, just like the OEM wireless charging back for the S4, the one for the Note 3 adds significant thickness, so most cases won't fit or will fit poorly. If you check on the accessories thread you'll find that someone has already said the bounce won't work with the charging back. To keep the original back & add wireless charging you'll need to use an insert that fits inside the back. There is one on Amazon, I don't know how much of a bulge it adds to the back cover ( some of them for the S4 are thinner than others). It was about $25 when I looked, I think.
You can also modify one made for the Note 2, the positive /negative contacts are reversed between the Note 2 & Note 3.

ohhhhhhh! this one is neat, you can use it on your existing backplate,
where did you buy that one?
i'd want to install that on all my other phones, and get myself 3 charging pads for car, home, office
From a quick look at ebay, it seems that there is a substantial price difference between the note 2 and note 3 wireless charger. Since the polarity is reversed, was the mod easy? can you post a pic of how yours looks like? Ill probably just order teh one for note 2 and modify it.
Thanks

As far as I can tell, there is no other thread for wireless charging for note3 (note 2 yes) so I dont see why this would be confusing. Looks like the note 2 charging mod will work but the mod will need to be modded
Here is the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438168
A's for the polarity nothing is reverse is just the whole note 2 receiver is in the opposite side, you put it in note 3 on its side and you only make the extend of the placket with the pins to roll in the opposite side, in my video you see them in 1.32. I disassembled the whole thing simple to unglue and glue back the whole receiver because inside there is insulation and 2 layers of plastic advertisement of the receiver. I ended up facing the backplate with coil the insulation then the 1 advertiser and that's it. Also be taking out some layers you make it thinner, as I said in normal thread there are no temp rising and it works with any case or bumber I tested giving to phone 640mha current and this can be changed only with a custom kernel.

The "pins" on my QI wireless charging insert didn't quite fit in the "holes" on the Note 3. I'm sure I could've filed them down, but it wasn't worth the time and effort for me. YMMV, of course.

Thanks for the link Blue Chris. I am going ot order this from Ebay and seems like from the video posted above, all i have to do is fold the contacts over and it should work with the note 3. Its only $9.99 so pretty cheap. What do you think?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-Samsung...sh=item5659f62c37&quantity=1&autorefresh=true
m8 when i did it nothing was existing in ebay or anywhere.. atm there are rdy receivers for Note 3 exact same price as note 2 .. better grab a rdy one and you only take out some advertising plastics to gain width and you are fine.

Yes, you ll need folded tape or something soft to wedge it between the edges of the battery to secure the note 1 battery.

Hi,
When i take pictures with the note 3 i noticed some black bars on the screen and processed pictures. This mostly appears to happen when focusing. Not always, but mostly on low light situations.
So i returned my note 3 a couple of days ago and received a new one. I couldn't believe my eyes when the exact same thing happened with the new one.
So i want to ask you all to look closely at your screen when taking a photo in a comparable low light situation. You have to seek for it but it might happen. I managed to take some photo's of this phenomenon. See the photo's in the dropbox link.

I'm sure some of you know by now that the white N3's back is hard plastic while the black one has a soft rubbery back. Is anyone else annoyed by this because I had my mind set on getting the white version since I've always owned black phones but now I'm not so sure.

I'm not sure I would call the black back "soft and rubbery" It has a small amount of "give" when pressed down on when compared to the white back but it is still fairly hard, I did feel both before purchasing and went with the black one as it felt better to me.
I haven't felt a black Note 3, but I LOVE the feel of the white one. It's plastic, but the texture feels nice (Better than a smooth plastic back). I'll be seating it inside of a Spigen Bounce case, though, so it would be a non-issue either way.
I actually returned my white one for a black one. I had one of each in my order from AT&T, and after handling both I knew I had to swap the white one out. Luckily they didn't give me a hassle or charge me a fee.
Also does anyone know if Samsung has given any indication as to when the accessories will be out? How long did it take for the s4? Hopefully the replacement backs will feel similar to the black one. Thanks.
The white S view cover looks great on the black phone plus you get that great screen look in menus etc of edge to edge on the black phone. I also think that the titanium grey Note 2 gave a similar effect, but nowhere near as good as the note 3, especially with a black wallpaper. I will post a screen shot of mine below

I was very tempted in buying sview case but then i thought about it for a moment why did i buy note 3? One of the main reasons because of the massive screen so what's the point in buying sview so I can cover up most of the screen!!

I want it for viewing the message details without having to unlock the phone. I can bring it out of my pocket, glance at it and put it away. Swiping to unlock may not take long, but I generally have a password. I am hoping that the SView allows me to view the info even with a password lock
In time I'll get the Gear, but only when I know it works and probably when they reduce the inflated price (more than many phones!).
