Hello , my girlfriend just bought a lg l7 so obviously is brand new. The problem is that when she tries to connect her cellphone to the wifi , the router disconnects everyone on the network and she has to restart it. Also while having the wifi on the lg off when the pc detects it by USB , it turns the router crazy too. anyone know whats going on?
I think the Problem is the Router.
Did you tried to connect on other Wifi-Networks ? (from Friend, Girlfriend, etc.)
Do you have anything flashed like a Custom-Rom and/or Kernel for your Phone ?
Any other issues ?

Theres no custom rom , it has the original 4.0. Im gonna try another wifi network tomorrow and ill report, i dont think it could be the router since other phones/tablets/pc are connecting just fine.
Ok , sorry for the souble post btw. I tested it with another router and it worked perfectly fine. So the issue is the router , any way to fix it without getting a new one? And how to find one that will work just in case theres no workaround

1. Wr340g v2 is the name of it
2. Kinda I guess , if anything I can do some research.
3. No other problem at all considering all other devices connect just fine (s3 , galaxy tab, galaxy s duos, two blackberrys)
4. Not at the moment since its at my gf house and ill go visit her on wednesday, but shes great at listening so thats not a big deal
Good.
So, i would look in the router, it proably could be blocked.
And i would look after a option like "block new devices" or something like that.

If it were blocked it wouldnt even connect , but since I assigned it a static ip it connects normally but after few hours the router crashes( or somethijg like that , it stops sending internet ) and it has to be restarted
In case anyone has this trouble again , i fixed it by manually switching the wireless mode to 802.11b , it was on automatic before.

Go to Settings\Connections\Wi-Fi Status. Click on the Power Mode tab and move the slider to best performance. That's all I can think of for now, but I'll keep looking.
unfortinatly: been there, done that, no effect... doesnt matter if the slider is on "best performance" or "best battery"...
ill check the antennae also does the router connect to anything else it could be just the phone let me know whats up
i checked with a friends phone how owns the same P4350...
when we are 3 ft. away from the router i have the signal strenght of 1/6 and he has 1/1 (full) signal...
anything i can do to check the antenna in my phone?
Are you both using the same ROM? What kind of encryption are you using to protect your wireless LAN? Does this problem only occur when connectiing to your home network or do you have the same issue with other networks?
its WPA2/PSK "on" AES... the router is a linksys 54GL... works fine for every PC... i tried it on his network yesterday (same router and encrytion-setings) - same problem!
phones have the same ROM - HTC Original (german), almost the same software installed...
can i somehow check my antenna on my device?
I suggest to change the encryption to WPA with TKIP since some devices have problems with AES and/or WPA2. But if your friends configuration is the same like yours, it wouldn't make that much sense to change it. Maybe you could just give it a try to exclude an incompatibilty
switched to WPA-PSK with TKIP... no effect...
switched back to WPA2-PSK with TKIP+AES... same signalstrenght!
i am getting frustrated!
In this case you should really check the antenna of the device. But don't ask me how...
how?
anybody else an idea? i do i need to call my provider to get a new phone!?
I have actually heard of the wifi antenna in the phone going bad in the 4350 more than a few times, you may want to try and get a replacement.

but this morning it seems the wifi has broken
it connects to the network but will not send or receive data, so the browser says no connection, so does the market etc
i have reflashed its software 3 times even downgraded back to the R1, still no luck, its not even rooted and its broken
any1 had the same issue? i have searched the forum but the ppl with the sam issue have not been helped. please i dont want to spend $$ to get it fixed i have no job
Hi.
No problem with the wifi so far. This is strange.
Do you have warranty?
Sound stupid but did you try to reset your router?
If nothing is working you should go to the service.
yea i messed around with wifi router, nothing, i can browse the net on 3g wich is odd, but 3g is expensive so that cnt be the solution. bluetooth and 3g work obv but the wifi cannot connect itl connect to the wirelss just NO datac exchange?
There is someone with the same kind of problem but on an EVO 4g, but i really do not understand what they reply's mean. Maybe you do?

tried to search on google and came across a LOT of people having this same issue, on laptops, iphones, ipads, which lead to the conclusion that it may not be a wifi failure?
well it cant be a complete wifi failure kuz i used the dev menu and it says wlam enabled and scanning just no connection
thanks

+1 and so much more for all your help man
i managed to fix it, it wasnt my device as such it was my router, too so i fiddled around with both mainly giving my x10 a static ip and bam it worked, cheers!!
I too have a wifi problem, but it is quiet a different one and i have no idea how to solve it.
when I connect to wifi at home my router reboots, but there is no such problem when i connect to my office.
I tried reseting the router at home and still no use, once it got connected and when i started a download from the market the router again rebooted.
How can i solve this????

Somebody told him to try to switch the router from b/g to n. That was the point of my post.
And your router obviously operates all 3 standards at once
Hi guys.
I have an issue with WiFi in this WP7 ROM. They say that you can fix it by lowering the channel of your router, and there are 2 fixes (CAB packages) that are supposed to fix wifi or something.
My problem is that, even after applying the fixes and lowering my router channel I am STILL unable to enter my network. My problem before was that I cannot see the network at all, but lowering the channel seemed to fix that. However now I can see, but not Join my network. It is password secured and it is NOT mac filtered.
My router channel is 1
I have tried both fixes and neither have worked
I have hard reset countless times
I have run task 29 countless times and reflashed
WiFi works in neither 7004 or 7720
Funny thing is, that for a very short period of time I got the WiFi to Work and that was when I first lowered my channel to 1. I have tried several channels, but NONE worked. In the begining when I flashed the ROM for the first time ever WiFi worked, I upgraded to mango, and when I activated the Live services it stopped working (after a reboot). The next time I got it to work was when I lowered the channel of the router to 1.
This is weird and I don't know what to do. I could not find anyone with my problem anywhere!
P.S. The messege I get is something like: Your phone couldn't connect to the network Gratis Internett (my network) because there was no response from the network.
Same problem here.
My device don't detect Home Wi-FI, only the neighbors wi-fi.
Strange Think.
Sometimes, I Restarted de reuter... to detect and connect without problem. But if for any reason I turn wi-fi off... i've to restart... and restar again.
I apply the WI-FI fix EU. No difference
i have a diffferent problem with the wifi. I disable my wifi on my phone and my data slows down. i enable and it moves regular any fix for this?

It might be that your wifi is faster than your phone. Don't know if it helps but if you install advanced config you can add a 3G toggle, and enable wifi n mode, but DO NOT try to prevent phone from relocking (you will lose all xaps)

My problem was that it didn't detect the network. I fixed that by lowering the channel of my router. My current problem it is that the phone REFUSES to connetct to my network!

Do you have set up access control on your router?
Because the MAC-Issue (random MAC on every reboot) is still not fixed.
I was investigating on this issue but I'm still not able to create my own cabs...

Do you mean like mac filtering? I made it clear in my top post that I DO NOT have mac filtering on!
It's funny, but restarting my router was something i forgot to try. It fixed my issue...for now...
EDIT: Oh my god! I have reboot my phone and WIFi still works! Wonder for how long...
EDIT 2: I have reboot my phone once more, but this time it stopped working. I will just have to reboot the router every time I reboot the phone. -_-

Even if you said you have no mac filtiering, it seems to has something to do with the changing mac 'cause that's what changes after a hd2 reboot...
Does your router have an option that sets a maximum number of cennected clients? - 'cause it maybe calculates the number based on the mac...

Now that's a whole different thing. Since the router is our Home router, I don't have 100% control over it (I'm the 14 year old son ^^) and my dad knows that. I'll ask and tell you what I find out. Thanks for this suggestion.
And did you (or your dad ) get it working?

It wasn't the issue.
Hmm, I'm sure you did it already but have you tried some other wifi devices? Or another OS on your phone (Android,WinMo)?
The issue is quite confusing... Anyway, the last option I can think of is to reflash wp7...
PS: If you want to test it with android, dualboot would be the best option...

I have had and I currently do have Android on my Device. It's WP7 that makes the issue, not the device. It works like a charm on cyanogenmod7!
I found a solution for this.. the issue here is not the phone.. the issue was the router. the best way to end this issue is to reset the configuration of your router.
Someone please help me out of this ! Have been trying to correct it for a while! Nothing seems to work out for me. Thought of posting it on XDA. I hope u guys help me asap... \\\\first time on XDA/////
So the problem is: I have an android phone MOTOROLA FIRE XT530. I have got wifi , belkin router in my home , which i use to connect my laptop and cell phone to browse on internet! There is no problem in browsing from laptop indicating there is no problem with my wifi settings or anythng related to wifi!
BUT, on my phone, when i turn wifi 'ON' , the wifi works for 2-3 minutes then it automatically disconnects and then instantly reconnects itself! I dont really have problem with this thng but the other day i was upgrading my swype to swype beta and had to download this application but the app is too large sized that in the middle of the downloading my wifi went off thereby stopping the download(n sadly its non resumable). I am a huge fan of swype and have been using it for quite a while now. I want it upgraded at any cost!
I know this wifi turn on/off problem is faced by many but this is quite a headache nw! I have come to know about 'POWER SAVING MODE' n stuff, but sadly i can't even get to that menu coz i dont know how to!

Sometimes I too have similar problem with my xperia. But the problem disappear after rebooting the phone and/or router.
I think it related to your phone's uptime. As the more the uptime, the memory tends to be fragmented and it has impact to wifi drivers (?).
it happens regardless of the never option

Guys hang on looks like a found a solution to this crap.
I carefully observed what happened when my wifi turned off automatically. My phone flashed a message "Get IP address fail, please check wifi password or wifi app status"..
I thought of making my wifi setting from dynamic to static. I used "ipconfig/all" in my cmd to get the details for setting up static ip. i rebooted both my phone and router. And bang!!! It has not been showing the problem now.! I've been using it for 10 minutes now at a stretch ( for the first time).. Am happy and hope that it doesnt recur. Will let u guys know , if the prob comes back!

Could be a number of things. As you've tried several ROM's I'd be looking at your router/modem first, is it running latest firmware (and maybe also not a very old model), check settings eg automatic address allocation, security/gaming/voip etc settings, maybe start fresh with a factory reset also.
Also consider other networked devices interfering.
A friend of mine has a Motorola phone that did the same thing with a TP-Link router. Rebooting the router would fix it for awhile and the router had the latest firmware. Eventually, he replaced the router and has not had any issues since.

Yeah, i also first suspected the router, but all the other devices in our house are running normal so i forgot about it.
I am running latest FW on my Asus DSL-AC87VG but as you told i´ll try a factory reset.

Is your router close to any other electronics? I've had problems with it if they're right next to other equipment but moving it a few feet away and everything is consistent.
