Ever since i flashed cyanogenmod 10.1.3 I've had this problem that doesn't allow me to download certain apps on my phone. This does not happen all the time and sometimes I get lucky and the app downloads fine. I always get this error message any one know why??

Clear the data of "Google Services Framework" and 'Google Play Store", reboot and try downloading again.
Thanks I tried that and it downloads fine. I appreciate the help !

I just got my Nexus 10 and was syncing with my account (downloading 50-some apps) and started getting "Error "[app name]" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]")
I have a good internet connection and I can navigate the store, surf the web, etc. but I only got a couple of apps downloaded before this message started coming up for every other app that was supposed to sync. Is anyone else getting this?
I tried a factory reset with the same result. A few apps download then the errors start flying. Very frustrating.
Thank you for this. I have also been getting the same error although I have a galaxy note 10.1. I'm guessing its most likely a server problem on Googles side.
I was just about to factory reset as well.

Seems to be working this time. (Hope I don't jinx it.) 14 apps left and it's about a quarter of the way thru the pig that is Modern Combat 3.

Damn, didn't work for me

EDIT: What worked for me: Removed my Google account, then added it again (w/o even rebooting).
I occasionally get a message that an gapps service has stopped. Is there any way I can find out why? I am Rooted, and running Rasbean and MKernel.
Thanks.
Does it tell you which specific service has stopped working?
You could always try reflashing the gapps to see if that would solve your issue.

I tried reinstalling them. It doesn't specify a specific App. When I get the message again I'll write it down.
The error is:
Com.Google.prowess.gapps has stopped.
Clearing data on Contacts Storage solved this issue for me on my S2. You could try the same to see if it will work. No guarantees though.

I'll give that try. Thanks.
Just happened again.
As it's a problem with gapps, try clearing data on Google Services. Beyond doing that, I'm afraid i don't know what it could be

Looking into it more it seems to be related to my Google + account not syncing correctly. I disabled sync on it hand I havent seen the error return.... yet.
Hello everyone, I met a Google play issue: It is normaol before, but now Google play just flashed and closed when launched. Reboot cannot fix it. What should be the problem? How to fix? thank you all.
By the way, I test several other apps, they works normal, Only TED download failed. Before this issue happened, I once disabled a TED download thread, cannot remember what exactly the name is.

OK, found reason and fixed, download manager is disabled by me, it cause the issue. Thanks again.

I would download Avast from Google Play and scan sdcard and apps. Not sure what it is. Looks like spam-ware.

Thanks for the tip, just tried and avast says all is good. Should I be worried about this?

Just noticed I scanned it when the file wasn't there. Maybe I'll wait till it gets created then I'll scan?

I found that in my phone the other day too. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't really do anything.
Could be a log file. I'm not sure what it is. I would scan again once it appears. Not sure if it is I needed file or not. I don't have a nex 4 but was looking into getting one that's why I'm at the forum.
You can try sd maid which has a system cleaner. Or change the files permissions if you are worried about it transmitting data. But I wouldn't mess with it too much until you figure out what it is.

I suspect it's something to do with adverts in some app on your phone.

You guys could wipe your sdcard with twrp if you are worried, but back up all your wanted sdcard data to a computer first. And then put it back on right after. I do that with my Nexus 7 sometime. Not sure if it is the same process on Nex4. It may not be necessary, not sure.

I have removed the apps I have installed on my Device from the above list, The first one that springs to mind is the go backup. I would check there first.
This comes up every time I try to use Netflix. I bought this tablet yesterday morning and I haven't been able to use Netflix yet.
I've tried reinstalling it and clearing user data.
EDIT: I just got the JSS15Q update and Netflix now works!

Try signing off netflix and sign back in.
Netflix worked for me first couple of days then quit and gave me errors. I ended up uninstalling Netflix after trying everything in the threat about the issue then installing it again and it has worked every since.
Netflix has been absolute garbage for me on the Nexus 7. I have to sign out and back in almost every time I launch the app for it to work correctly. I've gotten those errors before, and I've also had it sit at the loading screen for ten minutes doing nothing.

Try heading to (settings>apps>all apps>netflix> wipe data & cach ) let us know how it goes
Sent from my Moto X Infused GS3
I get this message at random. Sometimes, the app itself logs me out and prompts for user name/password after showing this message. Then it works.
If you can try and find the .apk file for a previous build. The current up to date file could have a bug.

Netflix have been on undergoing changes that's why sometimes issues arise but are temporary. They updated the app, to work with 4.3 squashed some bugs and now they are adding features to the service. Everything is working fine on my end, also due to this is not only the Android app same happened with the site on PC and on my PS3, but all is working now.
And please stop blaming the Nexus 7 "Flo" for every single issue when are the apps that have the issues.
