Error 500 on Google Play Store - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, just noticed as of this morning I cannot download anything from the Play Store. Tried both mobile data and WiFi and still brings up Error 500. Did a quick google search and was told to clear cache in both Google Play Store and Download Manager but still getting the same error.
Anybody else experiencing the same problems or know how to fix this?

I'm having this issue too
It started today

I am getting the same error on my Galaxy Note 3..what the hell is going on?!

Also any apps I've purchased in the past are coming up as not paid for. The ones installed are fine but this is pretty BS if they can't fix this..

Same issue here, different device (xperia tablet z). Just started today.

came across this thread while googling the same issue (different phone model though, xperia here)
maybe its a google-sided error?

Yes, this is definitely on Google's end, as both my Evo 4G and 1st gen Nexus 7 are affected.

Same issue - 9:20 pm Central
Weird. I got an RMA replacement S4 this afternoon. I got it booted up, installed a few apps and all was well. I came home, used the phone, installed another app from the play store, and then all of a sudden, I was getting the 500 error. Now I can't download anything from the Play store. Very odd. I have wiped the Play Store cache, removed the google account and re-added it... that doesn't fix the issue. I assume this has to be a server-side issue because you guys are seeing this today also.
Anyone still experiencing problems?

yep same here. just started about 30 minutes ago, cant access any of the "All Access" music only my local and continue to get the 500 error when updating any app. I have a moto x on AIO and data connection doesn't matter 4g/wifi. Also tried resetting up my APN, clearing cache of google store but not resolving this issue. Seems to be happening across carriers and devices.

Not working on GS4. Just got the error right now.

If you actually did some reading on that page you'd easily realize that people other than Galaxy Tab users are having the problem.. People with the captivate, vibrant and even the international GT-I9000 are reporting having this problem as well...
What the hell is going on!?
Don't know if it's only me or a bug but I'm going through the all applications top paid of the market and all I see is these weird applications like "costly app" "sanity test app" "test app" "test" "test02NOV09_paid_fl"

I read the thread and found that it has nothing to do with the title of the post "market incompatible warning" or the OP problem... So it won't stand out to the google people that this is a problem with samsung devices... that galaxy tab error can be resolved by clearing the cache... Read that?
The only problem i'm having worth the market is when purchasing apps. When I click buy it tells me that a server error has occured and gives me the option to retry but that never works. I rebooted, cleared cache and it's still the same.
However, I can see my apps and download free apps. I can't purchase though. Anyone have the same problem?

what the heck..I was fine until I tried Master's new ROM. Got a market error so I ODIN'd back to stock. Flashed Nero5, then restored my nandroid.
Now I still have the market error. Strange part is that some of my apps are still installed but unusable.
I'm just a bit peeved...
I don't know why you guys are having this issue. I guess it could be the rom you guys are using. I'm using Nero v5 with stock rom and voodoo enabled. I hope you guys find the issue.

Im on nero 5 also... I had this problem for a couple hours and just kept hitting cancel and ok in the market and it bypassed the error and started downloading. I have to hit cancel 2 or 3 times and try to redownload. It works after about 3 tries for me. But displays an error everytime I download or update.

Market not working after root and unlock

So I decided to root and unlock my 4.1.1 N7 today. Everything went according to plan. When I set myself to return my tablet to its former app glory, I found myself with the following message when opening Play Store:
Error retrieving information from server. (DF-DFERH-01)
Market was working before root. Funny thing is, despite being unable to open the play store, It is still able to auto update :/
Any thoughts? I already tried clearing/deleting market cache, no good...

Just clear your app store data, ect. Then relaunch it. That is what I had to do.
I had the same error in my GNex today.....It has nothing to do with clearing up the data in the Apps settings.....
Clearing my app store data does nothing for me...

Have the same issue on My Nexus 7. Only difference being I've not used a bootloader or anything like that, it's just literally out the box. App store has never worked at all today, although i can install directly and still get updates...but not install those updates.
tried clearing cache and data then rebooting. removing email account and also removing google wallet settings.
No joy so far on any attempts I've made.
When I had this problem on my old GTablet, I had to force close Google Services Framework, clear data, then reboot to get it back. This is in addition to clearing cache and data of the Market.

I'm also from Puerto Rico but the problem seems to be with providers with local IP Address like Claro in the case of mobile phones or local internet providers like liberty, claro etc.. but not on Carriers with US IP addresses like tmobile or At&t tha's why I can access if I use my phone but not using my wifi at home.
Hope this helps, and if anyone finds an answer please let us know because i haven't seen any report on google about this issue.

I can't get Google Wallet to set up!

I am having issues getting Google Wallet set up on my Nexus 10. I just received it today, and it sits on the "Setting up Wallet, this may take up to 5 minutes" screen for what seems like forever, then I get a message "Device Not Ready-Wallet is unable to proceed until this device is fully initialized. Make sure the phone has network access and try rebooting it if the problem persists", well the network is 100% A OK, and the device is fully initialized, so I'm not sure what the issue is, and I have rebooted it a few times and even cleared data and cache on the Wallet program, to no avail. Is anybody else having this issue?
If your under a custom rom, that could be the reason why its not working. I have Google wallet on my rooted stock SG3 and it says unsupported device but it still works.

It's the stock ROM, just rooted, unlocked bootloader and recovery.
It still won't set up as of this morning, it's not a hardware problem because the NFC works just fine, I guess I'll have to talk to Google.
Well, I fixed it! I went into Titanium and uninstalled it, installed the version in the Play Store, and then opened it up and WHAM, it worked! Maybe the one on the device was corrupt, or uninstalling then re installing cleared out some errors, what do you guys think?
Edit-I don't know that I'll use it on my Nexus 10, as I have it installed and working on my SGS3 (AT&T), but it's nice to have the option, and it was bugging me not being able to get it working lol
Glad you figured it out! Sometimes its as simple as uninstalling then reinstalling go figure.

Coolness factor
In any case, my wallet seems to be stuck also on "Setting up Wallet". I've tried CM10.1, some other custom ROM, and stock, and tried a few different wallet apps on CM10.1, to no avail so far.
Edit: My NFC still appears to work; I can wave my credit card near the NFC sensor on the N10, and it'll make a sound.

I'm having the same issue. I've tried everything short of editing the build prop as some have done in the past with other devices (I have a nexus 4), and probably would even do that if some other person with an N4 did it and had success. Tried multiple ROMs and multiple versions of Wallet with no luck. I either get the "Setting up wait 5 minutes, device not initalized" issue or the "request failed" at the add card error. Put in for a replacement yesterday, so hopefully the new one doesn't have the issue. If so, then we know that there are just some lemon N4's out there.
first, I got this wallet apk from the dev paulobrien here at xda. I don't have the link to his site at the moment. now, onto the fun stuff. to begin with, uninstall any previous wallet app. next, using root explorer drop this apk into the /system/app directory and change the permissions to match the other apps. now, reboot and enjoy the odd looks of cashiers when you pay with your awesome tablet!
I found the link for anyone who is wary.

Nexus 7 Google Hangout Force Close/Drop?

I've never had this happen on my Galaxy S3 but on my Nexus 7, when I'm using Google Hangout with a friend, it likes to either force close after 30 minutes or say "You have left the chat" when I haven't done anything. Any ideas whether this is an issue with the Nexus 7 or Google Hangout?

I've been having the same issue since the launch and have gotten no help from either Google nor here. It seems it has something to do with Play Services cause if I Clear Data/Cache and Force Close Play Services I can do ONE Hangout, then it will go back to FCing again.
That is really strange. I guess I'll try clearing my cache each time that happens. :/

You could try wiping the data of hangouts and of the Google plus app, because they are linked (you can open hangouts in the g+ app)

I'm kind of keeping factory reset as a last resort.Because if I'm going to lose my data I might as well root at that point. And I even Tried updatding to 4.2.2 with the updates of Google search Uninstalled but it didn't work for me.. The drain is too much for me
Even reported it to Google. It's messed up how they let this pass because I've searched a lot and this issue is faced by many people and they have no solution but to Force stop the app or turn off Google Now
