Hello,
my THC Tattoo has a broken USB connector. Data transfer doesn't work, but at least charging is possible. I tried it with three computers and four cables, so I'm sure the problem is in the mobile.
The device has still the old original Android 1.6 (and is not yet rooted). My question is, if there is a possibility (smiliar to this Question about restoring stock firmware ) to get CyanogenMod on this device by using the SD card? I'm familiar with debian, so getting any kind of files or images on the SD card is no problem for me.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello all,
1st Thank to all of you about your efforts helping such like me.
2nd Is there any way to upgrade ROM from SD card? I'm not able to connect the Artemis to any PC trough Active Sync and also trough bootloader mode the device is not visible for the upgrade wizard.
Many Thanks in advance
SD Flashing....
I'm in the same boat...my USB port on the Artemis must be bad as it only allows charging..can't sync with WinXP computer at all. No problems with other WinMo phones. Besides forking out some $$ to get a USB port fix, can't I flash a new ROM to the Artemis (both Radio or ROM) via SD? It seems I recall doing this for my PPC-6700 at one point. Anyways, I would love to resurrect this phone as I really liked it and the new ROM(s) and Radios out there would help it a lot.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi you geniuses out there,
My 1 yr old 8gig SanDisk (SDHC, Class 2) suddenly ceased to work, using the card reader/adapter and plugged it into my USD slot on my PC won't be detected either.
I've flashed a lot for the last year and never ONCE faced this weird problem, not on my Topaz (Touch Diamond 2), or my previous Raphael (Touch Pro).
(1) For troubleshooting's sake, I plugged into the Topaz another card which is working on the Raphael as well as on the PC (4gig Sandisk SDHC, Class 6), IT WON'T WORK EITHER!
(2) The only difference I did was when this strange thing occurred, I was using the mtty v1.4.2.0 HEREto get a total cleanup before flash, following the instruction (cmd> task 29). I'm using HSPL 1.83 Olinex of course.
Any way I can retrieve the now defunct SD card?
It won't detect on my phone, it won't detect on my PC.
The other working card now won't detect on my phone (Topaz) either.
Have I screwed up my Topaz' card slot?
HELP, please!
Bump.
Any living soul, please?
Bump. Again.
Hi,
Firstly have you tried a second card reader/adapter for the PC?
Does your partners phone recognise your SD Card?
Have you tried to flash a different ROM, OEM ROM as the issue may be ROM based?
Have you also tried checking with the creator of "mtty1_1_.42_538"?

Somehow I second question the mtty1_1_.42_538, I'm sorry but that utility is the prime suspect. I used to religiously do hard-reset > stock ROM > hard reset > wanted ROM > hard reset kind of cumbersome ritual. But not once did my SD card fails me when I did it the long way.
I hard reset my phone this morning, and suddenly it can detect any working SD(HC) card.
Thanks.
I am wondering about creating a ROM build that resides on the external SD card that can be booting into to get access the the calling feature without flashing the native ROM. I have the HTC HD2 with windows mobile 6.5. I have downloaded many Android ROM builds to my external SD card for it and the builds work..though there are glitches. I was thinking that doing this for the Tablet might be a safe alternative until a more permanent fix of the native ROM can be made.
I had a tablet that I had successfully flashed to get calling feature but wiped my IMEI and serial number. So I ended up returning it. Now, I just purchased a new one and thought that using that external SD for the OS would be workable. Novice I am, can't changes be made to the orginal OS as the phone/dialer software is already there? Perhaps just a code some how to unlock it?
And thanks for all the hard work guys!
Hello Everyone,
I have been long time visitor of this forum but this is my first post here so please bare with me.
I have Wicked Rom V4 flashed in my phone. I am having strange issue.
After I flashed this rom I was able to browse both Phone and SD card using Windows Explorer. But at some point my SD card got corrupted and I replaced it with new SD card and now I can't browse Phone or SD card using Windows Explorer.
I can charge my phone using usb cable but I can't browse anything in phone. I tried to check it on more than one computers but result is same. I would think that may be when my old card got corrupted something happened to OS but I am not sure if it is even possible.
I can reflash rom to see if that helps but I want to keep it as a last resort.
Any suggestion is really appreciated.

It sounds like there is something on your device somewhere that is causing an issue. I would make a backup and try reflashing your ROM to see if the error persists. Have you tried taking the SD card out altogether, connecting your device to your PC and try browsing then?
Is USB debugging checked or unchecked in Developer Options?

Finally a reply ... :victory:
Yes, I have tried to remove SD card.. then plug in USB but still no go.
And usb debugging is enabled too (I already tried to disable/enable debugging too).
I can reflash but just hoping to solve this issue without it.

Well it sounds like whatever occurred with your original SD card has created further issues for you and embedded something somewhere. I understand that's vague but I don't know much more.
Perhaps try reformatting your SD card to exFat, inserting it into the phone, hard reboot your device, plug it in and give that a try. Silly question, have you used the cable that comes with the S4 other just other Micro USB cables?

Yup me too concluded same thing. And just because of that I was wondering if there is anything can be done using ADB interface so I can avoid reflashing rom.
And yes, I am using original Micro USB cable (I also have tried with Micro USB cable of my Galaxy Nexus too)
I think I will just reflash rom and cross my fingers :fingers-crossed: ... I will update results here

Good luck, let me know!
EDIT: Before you do that, give me your details: are you using an SGH-1337 or a different model? (We're in that section but people get confused), and you said you have Wicked ROM v4. Do you have a backup with TWRP or Titanium or anything?

It depends what data you want. You can get a usb cardreader and put the microSD card in it on your pc and see what is on there.
Do you know what operating system is on the phone? Was it booting before? Is it your data?
Hello,
sorry for my bad English.
With data i mean Photos, Videos etc. All my personal Data.
Operating system are Windows Mobile original Brand.
With SD Card I mean if it´s possible to make the phone Boot from the SD Card and I can copy all my personal data from the intern NAND.

So there was no sdcard in it and all the media is stored internally? Sorry, I don't know if you can extract your data. There is certainly no windows mobile run from sdcard published. You might be able to install a sd android build from your sdcard and get a dump of the memory, but that assumes that there is no hardware fault with your phone. Is it completely dead?
Sometimes the battery pins get bent and do not make contact with the battery.

No not possible, you would need WM booting correctly for sync be of any use.
