Running stock rooted touchwiz on canadian SGH-I337M and neither Juicedefender nor Greenpower can shut down wifi or data when the screen goes off so i guess it is a rom problem. Any idea guys?

Just to specify i tried alternative methods to manage data as provided in the apps themselves (renaming apn) to no avail. Any help will be appreciated as i miss those features from my SII days

I have the canadienne version of the Samsung Galaxy s4 (sgh-i337m ) running on cyanogenmod. I've been getting problems connecting to wifi on it. My LTE is working fine but not wifi. When I go on Google Chrome with the wifi it's working. But not when I go to YouTube, Facebook, email, etc. I tried changing the host name but still nothing. I also notice that the wifi is normally blue and sometimes Grey but now it's only Grey. Can someone help me?

I think it's the rom. For sure Wi-Fi and cell are grey. Mine's like that too but no big deal because everything works. Not sure why you're having problems on the other apps though.

If you're talking about personal apps you should reboot the phone. They will reappear. For WiFi I've had no real issues. Just spent the weekend at my cousins house and I wasnt disconnected at all.

I forget the actual name of the setting but look for something like "smart mode" under WiFi settings as well as avoid poor connections and turn both of those off. See if that helps you at all. Did for me

Hey guys, so I've been messing around with a lot of custom ROMs lately, but this here has stumped me. I've been running the CM11 nightlies, but yesterday I heard about the Sammy Deluxe ROM, one that was designed to look like the S5. It was for a different carrier. After seeing this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698799 , I thought I'd give changing the APN's a shot, but it turns out the Dev hasn't implemented a menu for this yet. I decide to go bank with a nandroid restore, and my 4g won't seem to turn on. Manually selecting any APN causes no signal then it switches back. Any ideas guys?

If on touchwiz ROM for Sprint. Update prl and profile then reboot if that doesn't work. While connected to wifi, in the dialer put ##72786#. This will reactivate the phone.

Hey guys I've been having horrible 4g and connection issue for a while on all roms even stock. YouTube is horrible and most things won't load or they take forever. My wife's s4 and daughters note 2 are fine and when they have strong 4g I get 3g. Any ideas.

I have an SM-N900V as well. I was having fits with 4G and wifi. My phone is rooted via vroot. I thought that might be the issue. I did a factory reset and did not restore my apps. I found the phone is still rooted but my connections issues were gone. I started recovering my apps via new installations. I haven't recovered them all btw. I had a ****load I didn't need. I do need an ad blocker and the only one that really worked was ad vanish pro. AVP caused the wifi and 4G problems. I can load it but as soon as I start it and load an affected app, down goes the wifi. I hope this helps and leads to further experiments. We need an ad killer that doesn't screw up the connections. AVP worked fine on my S3 until 4.3 was pushed out.
As per title really. Completley stock phone using a Tmobile uk sim.
Sim creates valid hotspots on other phones and other sim cards also are unable to share internet. Hotspot is created but any connecting devices report no internet.
The phone is a grey import, apparently from korea if that helps.
Everything else is working fine.
Really need to get it sorted as i use a tablet and qpair. Ive tried both qpair and standalone hotspots to no avail.
Any ideas? Ideally i dont want to root, or need to unroot after as i use apps like sky go that wont run if rooted.

Sounds like a hardware fault to me. Have you tried s factory reset? Other than that not sure there is much you can try.

Umm i sometimes have the same problem with my G2. If I don't have any security (as in no password and encryption) there's never a problem.
