email notification disapear - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so I have my Email app setup and I'm not using the gmail app. I get emails and it vibrates and makes a sound, the notification will show in the notification bar for 1-2 seconds max then will disappear.
is there a way to solve this ?
thx

Same for me. I sync three accounts and in my case the situation is even worse: sometimes I don't get the notification number close to the mail app icon. ..
...while the icon in the lock screen shows a negative number. ..
Must be a bug, hope in the update. ..

I have set up 4 email accounts, Three of them shows notifications just fine but One email account from iCloud/me (Apple) have the same problem as u! Notification just dont stay In the notifications bar.
Well...hope the fix for that will be up soon.

If the sync setting is correct, follow these steps:
1. In the Gmail app, touch the Menu icon, then Settings.
2. Choose an account.
3. Make sure that Notifications is checked.
4. Touch Inbox sound & vibrate.
5. Check Label notifications.
6. Choose how you want to be notified. See “Learn more about notification settings” below for more information.
7. Go back to the previous page and touch Manage labels.
8. Select an inbox label such as Social, Promotions, Updates, Forums, or Inbox.
9. Check Label notifications and choose how you want to be notified about messages with this label.
10.Go back to the previous page and repeat for the rest of the inbox labels if you see them in your list. Inbox labels are at the top of the list, but not all of them are used in your account.

TouchFlo shows incorrect unread mail count

Yesterday the TouchFlo of my Touch HD started to always show one unread e-mail although all mails were read. Deleting the account or a softreset or doing both didn't help (with or without TouchFlo disabled). Even without any mail account I still get one unread e-mail.
Start -> Messaging shows the correct mail count (0 unread mails).
If I receive a new mail the TouchFlo counts 2 unread, after I read the new one, 1 unread message remains.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Go to Messaging to mail account open the tree and in outlook email you will see a message delete it and you are all set
Thank you very much! That was it!
I made an restore with pimbackup, and I still see 25 in the counter (I have a lot more). I also don't see any message in the outlook email
Sorry to hijack the thread but I have exactly the same problem but with SMS messages.
Its shows one unread message but there are none in the messages folder. Even if I go to the tree, sure enough its states Inbox (1) but upon entering the inbox there is nothing.
Can anyone help please, its driving me nuts!!
I'm having this exact same problem. Touchflo shows 1 SMS. I've completely cleared all messages in all folders, yet it still shows 1 on the counter. Like GuyAdams, it's driving me crazy too.

thanks a lot. that was my problem
it was driving me crazy.
i had the same problem a long time ago and someone in the raphael forums gave me a tool to reset unread message count. Go search there and see if you can find it. It was simply an exe file to run
I have the same problem with emails. It says I have 2 unread but ive deleted everything.
Tried going through the tree as above. Nothing shows.
Tried the .exe fiile. Nothing happened. Still showing 2 unread.
Any other suggestions?

This is what works most of the time!
Here's a little more detail. (different versions of Touchflo have minor differences)
1. go to 'Messaging' tab (sms texts) in Touchflo.
2. tap softkey (left) labeled 'All messages'
3. This should bring up 'Messaging' program.
4. tap softkey (right) labeled 'Menu'
5. tap option 'Go To >'
6. tap option 'Outlook E-mail'
7. Delete unread email here.
8. Close Messages and check that your email counter has adjusted.
Hopefully this works for most problems.
If you have done this you can download the *.exe others have mentioned. The name of it is fixunreadcount.exe and about 9k. Hopefully I've attached a zip of it to this post.
Still the problem, hidden account?
Hello,
Thank you for all these answers, but no method worked for me... I still have one unread message
Perhaps this problem has a link to this other issue: as I configured my gmail account, a bug makes that no account is created if I leave the name "Gmail" for the name account. If I choose "Google" or an other name, it works. Perhaps the "Gmail" account, which does not appear, is hidden somewhere?
Thanks for your help!

Thanks.
This .exe removed the 1 from the SMS inbox, but not the 1 from touchflo. I then did a soft reset and it was still there. I then did the "Go To" Outlook as suggested and checked Outlook and SMS inboxes and neither had the 1 in but JOY OF JOYS, when I came bake to Touchflo, the 1 had gone.
Thanks again.

Email notification

My problem is this when for example I get an sms notification icon in the top bar I tap on my messages app and read it. The icon in the notifications bar goes without me having to clear it in the notifications panel. However this is not the case with emails if I do the same the only way to clear the icon is to do it by pressing clear button in the notifications panel. Any ideas why this is and how I can get it to do the same as a sms notification?

Also I view my emails in the all accounts tab, I have my hotmail and gmail accounts linked with my hotmail account as default.

Hi, just to let you know that I don't have this issue.
When I get an email I get a notification on the top bar and my Mail shortcut on the home screen shows a number in a blue circle. I either tap the mail icon or swipe the notification bar down and tap the notification. I then tap the email to read it, exit out and the notification icon goes.
I would add that the number in blue circle sometimes takes a few extra seconds to disappear though.
For info I'm using an unrooted DHD with stock ROM - incidentally I also use Advanced Task Cleaner 2.0, but I doubt that would make any difference in notifications?
I feel for you though as it would really bug me if the notification icon didn't go! I hope you get your issue resolved.
I have now found if I open the email app with the account view I get this problem. If I open it in the hotmail or gmail view then there is no issue.

[Q] How can I change Email Client Notification, change wifi notification and popup?

I hate the water droplet sound that the email has, I changed the sound in the sound settings but apprently it's seperate check all over in the app and I have no idea how to change it....
2. I want to be able to remove the WIFI in the notification shade, I don't mind the popup too much but I'd like to remove that also. I'm connected to wifi 80% of the time and that just takes screen real estate and clutters my screen.
Email sounds are changed in the settings menu of ths mail apps themselves. For example, if you're using Exchange, hit the menu button and select settings then select your email account listed and change the sound there. Gmail is the same way. Go to settings, then your email account then Select inbox spund and vibrate.

Gmail Notifications

When I received one email, in the notification pull-down area, the email would be shown and a another line where it could be deleted. When several emails were received in the notification area would be a listing of the unread emails. This has stopped for some reason. Does anyone know how to get it back?
Briefly hold down on the Gmail icon and swipe down. It'll expand & give you the delete/reply options again.
Previously, you could hover your finger over each email & it'd pop up with the whole email.
But that's gone now.

E-mail notification dot on icons

Hi,
I received my Pixel 4 last weekend and I'm quite happy with it.
I have tried Gmail app as well as Outlook app and I can't get the "dot notification" on the app icon to show up when I have new e-mails.
I do have the notification of new e-mails at the top of the screen though but I have several accounts and I would prefer to have the dot notification to directly press the right shortcut to access the inbox than to scroll the notification page down and see which account has new e-mails.
I checked in the app that the "dot notification" is enabled and in the mobile settings (under "app and notification") as well, all seem enabled.
Anyone would have any idea please?
Cheers,
Axello
