So I know throughout the forums there have been some controversy over what the fastest or "best" SD card is out there. I used the Sandisk Ultra for quite some time, but had so many issues with it when it came to flashing stuff in a custom recovery. I eventually switched to a Samsung version of the Micro SD. Since I did that I haven't had any issues at all. I read a little while back about the Sandisk Extreme and was wondering if anybody had that or have tested it out. You see reviews everywhere but they vary so much. I've also see on XDA where the Samsung phones don't like Sandisk.
Who thinks they have or know what the best Micro SD is for your phone?

I don't know if it is the fastest or best but I have a Sandisc Extreme 64GB micro SDXC in mine and so far it works well.
Is there any way to do a transfer speed benchmark? I am new to Android.

I gave up on sandisk. 8, 16, and go have all crashed within several months of use. Finally bought a 32 gig Samsung for my Note 1 and am still using as of today with my note 3. About 1.5 years now and haven't had the nagging 'I need to backup when I get home or might lose something' worries since.

No matter how fast the Sdcard is, it will only operate to the potential that the device is capable of achieving. Just remember that.

Kingston is a steady and stable performer of flash memory, Samsung is great too, Scandisk has gone down the crapper.
I agree with you guys about SanDisk it seems like they are crap lately. Never tried the Kingston but I know the Samsung ones are working great for me.

My experience has been the same. Samsung (SEC) cards from now on here, no problems!
Never buy Lexmark memory cards... had over 5 fail on me (they were all replacements)... lol
I'm using a Sandisk (actually verified from the store) - don't buy Sandisk online - there are a LOT of fakes out there.
I have a class 10 64gig sandisk currently and it hasn't failed on me yet- over a year of use in 2 devices now.
I use a 32GB ScanDisk Ultra It is the red and grey one and it is awesome I am thinking about getting a 64gb in the same brand

He's either talking about the international version or his own phone that has a Snapdragon S4.
Personally, I'd take the 2gb RAM over a 1.2ghz quad.

yup, its samsungs home turf so of course they will work extra hard there. I remember they had the Galaxy s II with HD screen while the rest of the world rocked 800x screens the whole lifespan of the sii.
and also, its impossible to keep up with tech these days, no matter what you buy within a month or so possibly you will be sad because something newer is coming out, especially with androids. just gotta live in the moment to enjoy! :good:

I'm really surprised at how far back the US in the phone world. It takes months for a new phone to arrive on main carriers once it hits international. The only way to get a new phone on exact release date is to use prepaid and put a SIM in an international phone.

There is a quad core coming?? I haven't heard of it.
The LG phone going to Sprint and ATT is going to have the Quad-core S4. I'm sure those aren't far away for the other mfrs too. Unless you're gamer it doesn't matter anymore. These processors are fast enough for everything else. Smoothness in the UI is down to OS optimization now.

Would anyone in the right mind buy a Nexus 4 8gb right now for $450? I was a Sprint Note 2 fan and dumped it after I moved and couldn't get data. I found a guy willing to drop it off at my work still brand new wrapped.
The nexus 4 is an amazing phone but 8gb space for $450 is simply not worth it.

I'm so frustrated over my Sprint Note 2 and using my Atrix 4G on Net10 is getting old. I'm selling the Note 2 for $500 tonight and never going to CDMA again. I will however continue dev work on my Sprint S3 so other users can unlock their CDMA phones to work on GSM.
##RANT
I'm tired of couriers pushing us around and locking fully functional quadband radios and loading their crapware on. I'm frustrated by couriers/OEMs keeping firmware/driver source to themselves which makes custom roms difficult. I'm tired of locked bootloaders and invalidation of warranties due to rooting.
No more I say, no more!
I'll pay the extra $150 and be happy

Hey Guys,
A Friend of mine asked me earlier this day if i wanna change my Nexus 4 vs. his Note 2. He got it for birthday 2 days ago, but its too big for him. What do you think...? Is the Note better than the Nexus ? I really like my n4 especially the fast updates, but the small Disk Space and the really bad Battery Time are making me sometimes really "angry". On the Note i like the big screen, the S-Pen of course and the better camera. I really dont what i should do Please help :/
Btw. I hope you understand it...Im german and only 14 yet

For me it would be the lower pixel density on the Note 2 that would be the definitive reason not to switch. The nexus also has better build quality and stock Android out of the box.

Got my N4 a few weeks ago and love it. So far I have been comfortable with the non removable battery and limited storage... It's not like it's an HTC or something that never gets updated

Having Said that... I would say if your getting the Note2 as a 100% exchange and no cash on top, then take the note2 IF you don't have a problem with the size... In general the note2 is better value for just $400 you may have paid for your N⁴

N4 is so beautiful and snappy.

The note 2 is stupidly big. The only advantage I can see is larger memory. But unless you hord all your music and films in one place, whats the point?
I have both. My Note 2 is stock, unrooted with sprint's service. My Nexus 4 gets aosp custom rom/kernel love with tmobile's service.
My nexus 4 is HANDS DOWN my device of choice if I had to pick between the two. The note 2 is big and clunky. It's not something that's easy to just throw in your pocket and forget about. It's as big in your pocket as in your hand. Try talking on a phone with a 7" screen. It feels uncomfortable and awrkard to hold something so big up to your ear, making bluetooth about the only viable option. Also, I can't reach across the screen if I'm holding it with one hand, so one-handed navigation is out the window. The one thing that really sets it apart is the s-pen. Know how many times I've used that since February when I got the device??? 3. The pen is a gimmick that doesn't really have very much practical use in daily life. Don't get me wrong....it's a cool little example of how creative you can be with android.....but I'll almost guarantee it will only leave its little storage slot once a month at best.
Honestly, I love the Note 2. It's a great device for what it is, but it's not a phone and it's not a tablet. It's a very narrow niche in the market and IMHO unless it's the perfect device for you, steer clear....there are far better options out there. Especially if it's your only device. I feel like tablets and phablets are in the same category when it comes to who should buy them: those who need a SECOND device. Not those looking for a primary device.
Do the trade then sell the Note 2. You could have enough money to buy a new Nexus 4 plus some profit.

@THE rest - The Note fits very good into my hand (i have very big hands ) , but do you really think the n4 is better in daily usage ? The Note has a lot of nice features (e.g. S-Note, The "quick dial " thing at the missed calls and so on. The n4 has nothing

Talk me out of exchanging for HTC One.
The one is boring after a week... The moto 8x is winning me over... Have multi cores to do different things is better than 4 cores all trying to handle everything. Plus the maxx is mad sexy and feels great in the hand. The one is sexy too but it chips easily!!

HTC one is a hype beast that just can't die. Just because it's metal it's getting insane praise. Battery life is abysmal compared to the maxx. Oh and its 6 months old so HTC will be dropping something along the lines of a one+ soon

The battery life on the Maxx is insane. I cannot kill the battery in one day. To me, that's the killer feature of this phone, and it's one the X cannot match.

I went and looked at the One tonight, it's really nice. The sales person said they sold 3 all day, not much for opening day.
I'm with you. Especially when you consider you can pickup the one for $99. I'm planning on picking one or the other tomorrow.

Is a great device, had one for a few months, but I'm enjoying this maxx much more. Battery life is insane, screen is nice, OS is perfect without any skins and the feel is great. Not to mention Motorola signal quality. Got to get what's best for you though, sense is still much better than touchwiz!

Yeah, if there was / is better developer support I wouldn't even consider. Root will probably come soon enough. I have 12 days to decide.

For everyone, the HTC One is being sold UNLOCKABLE! There is an ota that prevents it, but if you buy it then prevent the ota, you can unlock the boot loader and do with it as you wish.

Okay... how did you do a screenshot?! I've been hitting buttons all day like an idiot and can't figure it out, lol. I came from a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (and no, not even the 4) so I'm going to use that as my excuse for my inability to figure it out.

Use this for photosphere. Works great, though only has 5mp normal camera. It is from GS4 GPE.

I flashed a international ROM on my 801 yesterday and it seemed fine. I rebooted the phone and then lost my signal + phone keeps rebooting. Backups do the same thing. Made a mistake wiping everything. Was able to use the LG tool to download a stock ROM but for some reason it still boots up 4.4 and with no signal then reboots. Stock recovery just boots for a few seconds then reboots. Thanks for any help.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I tried all these and nothing has worked. The KitKat Rom keeps coming up even when I use the LG Tool to flash a stock Rom. I notice around 80% the phone reboots while flashing the software. I wonder if I should try and power the phone off when it does that so maybe it will take? Probably a dumb idea...Have no signal or WiFi and the stock recovery just boots up for a second. The Rom stays on sometimes for a min or two so I can put small files into the storage. Not sure how to get twrp back on. If I do that maybe I can flash my modem back up and be good to go. Probably dreaming though. lol

I had the same issue and this problem makes me a little weary of rooting the G2 again, although I was able to go to stock unrooted without issues.. I've never had an issue like this the Samsung phones I've rooted.

LOL good luck with the Note 3. With LTE 800 coming out there is no way I would be getting a single band LTE phone at this point.

Yea like I said I thought you left the G2 before and I guess came back. lol I have G2 waiting for me at UPS but just wanted to bring the one I have back to life. I loved the Note 2 but decided I didn't want a huge phone anymore.

Still want to try and fix my phone. Trying to figure out how to get twrp or and recovery back on my phone. As of now the stock recovery just boot loops. Phone powers up for a min or two and I can get small files into the internal storage. No signal or WiFi.
I'm having the same issue with my Verizon G2. I attempted to restore to stock but am getting that same error in LG FlashTool. Any suggestions??
