Talk me out of exchanging for HTC One.
The one is boring after a week... The moto 8x is winning me over... Have multi cores to do different things is better than 4 cores all trying to handle everything. Plus the maxx is mad sexy and feels great in the hand. The one is sexy too but it chips easily!!

The battery life on the Maxx is insane. I cannot kill the battery in one day. To me, that's the killer feature of this phone, and it's one the X cannot match.

I went and looked at the One tonight, it's really nice. The sales person said they sold 3 all day, not much for opening day.
I'm with you. Especially when you consider you can pickup the one for $99. I'm planning on picking one or the other tomorrow.

Screen cracked yesterday. Nothing wrong with the phone besides glass being cracked.
I have insurance but not sure I want to drop $100 on another Epic. Can I bring it into Sprint and have them replace the screen for $35? If not, should I just wait for the S3 and keep the $100?
When does the S3 release?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
They won't replace it for $35. That is for warranty handling repairs with no TEP. If it is clearly a drop they will leave you only the insurance option. S3's won't be out at least til the summer...still rumored with nothiing nailed down. Only thing set is the Galaxy Nexus on the 22nd this month.

Stick it out for a couple more days... for the gnex release. Trust me the s3 won't be out anytime soon... if the earliest, late summer early fall... least for sprint.

yup, its samsungs home turf so of course they will work extra hard there. I remember they had the Galaxy s II with HD screen while the rest of the world rocked 800x screens the whole lifespan of the sii.
and also, its impossible to keep up with tech these days, no matter what you buy within a month or so possibly you will be sad because something newer is coming out, especially with androids. just gotta live in the moment to enjoy! :good:

I'm really surprised at how far back the US in the phone world. It takes months for a new phone to arrive on main carriers once it hits international. The only way to get a new phone on exact release date is to use prepaid and put a SIM in an international phone.

Carriers using purposefully incompatible frequencies and tech (both voice, 2-3g data and LTE) as well as FCC are some of the reasons.

There is a quad core coming?? I haven't heard of it.
The LG phone going to Sprint and ATT is going to have the Quad-core S4. I'm sure those aren't far away for the other mfrs too. Unless you're gamer it doesn't matter anymore. These processors are fast enough for everything else. Smoothness in the UI is down to OS optimization now.

Would anyone in the right mind buy a Nexus 4 8gb right now for $450? I was a Sprint Note 2 fan and dumped it after I moved and couldn't get data. I found a guy willing to drop it off at my work still brand new wrapped.

I'm so frustrated over my Sprint Note 2 and using my Atrix 4G on Net10 is getting old. I'm selling the Note 2 for $500 tonight and never going to CDMA again. I will however continue dev work on my Sprint S3 so other users can unlock their CDMA phones to work on GSM.
##RANT
I'm tired of couriers pushing us around and locking fully functional quadband radios and loading their crapware on. I'm frustrated by couriers/OEMs keeping firmware/driver source to themselves which makes custom roms difficult. I'm tired of locked bootloaders and invalidation of warranties due to rooting.
No more I say, no more!
I'll pay the extra $150 and be happy

I'm with 3. Have been for years! In terms of signal and data packages they're amazing. Not found anyone to come close yet. But customer services are terrible. And don't expect them to ever do you any favours like keeping you in the loop or even giving a bit of a deal tweak here and there. They are firmly aware that they're the only true all you can eat data supplier and thus don't bend for anyone!

Seems strange that a lot of other carriers are getting stock and not 3 yet though....I don't get it.

Yeah I read delay with the suppliers but that's the production of handsets. To be fair this happens every year. 3 are quite good although their network isn't the best in my area. But not the worst. Customer service is ok.

Three have had some stock. Being a smaller network they tend to get a smaller allocation though.

Are they really a smaller network anymore? I know as many people on three than any other network....

^This.
Generally my signal with Three is pretty decent and even though I have much better speeds with GiffGaff, Three's unlimited internet sealed the deal with me.
GiffGaff claimed they offered the unlimited internet aswell but it really wasn't.
Luckily, I've never had a problem with Three though so I've never had to ring CS. That is meant to be There's only downside.

After 9 years on 3 paying their highest tariff I am now on Orange.
3 download speed (one plan, Desire HD) 225Kbps max
Orange download speed (still showing 3G/H not 4G or LTE on One) 4.9Mbps min, 20.1Mbps max (so far - not popped into town to test on a solid 3G signal yet)

I went through P4U. Free URBeats, free HTC case, £100 cashback (P4U matched the deal I would have gotten if I'd gone through TopCashback) 18 months @ £36

Hey Guys,
A Friend of mine asked me earlier this day if i wanna change my Nexus 4 vs. his Note 2. He got it for birthday 2 days ago, but its too big for him. What do you think...? Is the Note better than the Nexus ? I really like my n4 especially the fast updates, but the small Disk Space and the really bad Battery Time are making me sometimes really "angry". On the Note i like the big screen, the S-Pen of course and the better camera. I really dont what i should do Please help :/
Btw. I hope you understand it...Im german and only 14 yet
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
For me it would be the lower pixel density on the Note 2 that would be the definitive reason not to switch. The nexus also has better build quality and stock Android out of the box.

You definitely wouldn't be disappointed with the battery life on the Note 2, take a look at the kinda battery life I get on a daily basis

I never liked TouchWiz but Samsung did a great job optimizing the hell out of it for this phone, I have no lag at all. My only gripe with the Note 2 is TouchWiz lol, but I use Nova Launcher for more of an AOSP feel. This is the best device I've ever owned!

What's up PJ? I remember you from another forum lol. Both great devices, my buddy was just showing me his battery life on the Note ii. It's probably the only other skinned device I would want! Got my N4 a few weeks ago and love it. So far I have been comfortable with the non removable battery and limited storage... It's not like it's an HTC or something that never gets updated
Note 2 is way too big BUT if you are considering it that means it isn't too big for you so just do the trade...at least your friend will get a good phone

I'm actually very surprised/shocked by your battery life... Its terrible for the battery size... I have a N⁴ and I get the same stats almost... See for yourself...
Having Said that... I would say if your getting the Note2 as a 100% exchange and no cash on top, then take the note2 IF you don't have a problem with the size... In general the note2 is better value for just $400 you may have paid for your N⁴

Ive changed my note 2 for n4. After 4 months with note 2, it already came to me 'its helluva ugly device' , very functional and a masterpiece when it comes to hardware , but it looks like some cheap tablet and i wasnt even using half of those spen-multiwindow-floatingstuff-shinyfunctions. N4 is so beautiful and snappy.

The note 2 is stupidly big. The only advantage I can see is larger memory. But unless you hord all your music and films in one place, whats the point?
I have both. My Note 2 is stock, unrooted with sprint's service. My Nexus 4 gets aosp custom rom/kernel love with tmobile's service.
My nexus 4 is HANDS DOWN my device of choice if I had to pick between the two. The note 2 is big and clunky. It's not something that's easy to just throw in your pocket and forget about. It's as big in your pocket as in your hand. Try talking on a phone with a 7" screen. It feels uncomfortable and awrkard to hold something so big up to your ear, making bluetooth about the only viable option. Also, I can't reach across the screen if I'm holding it with one hand, so one-handed navigation is out the window. The one thing that really sets it apart is the s-pen. Know how many times I've used that since February when I got the device??? 3. The pen is a gimmick that doesn't really have very much practical use in daily life. Don't get me wrong....it's a cool little example of how creative you can be with android.....but I'll almost guarantee it will only leave its little storage slot once a month at best.
Honestly, I love the Note 2. It's a great device for what it is, but it's not a phone and it's not a tablet. It's a very narrow niche in the market and IMHO unless it's the perfect device for you, steer clear....there are far better options out there. Especially if it's your only device. I feel like tablets and phablets are in the same category when it comes to who should buy them: those who need a SECOND device. Not those looking for a primary device.
Do the trade then sell the Note 2. You could have enough money to buy a new Nexus 4 plus some profit.

@THE rest - The Note fits very good into my hand (i have very big hands ) , but do you really think the n4 is better in daily usage ? The Note has a lot of nice features (e.g. S-Note, The "quick dial " thing at the missed calls and so on. The n4 has nothing
