Does anyone know if these are cross-compatible in terms of KDZ and ROMs? people are having success with the Bell variant, but someone said they had difficulty rooting the Rogers variant. I have yet to see anyone with a Rogers or Bell G2.
The KDZ files are named differently and have different sizes for all 3. Someone reported that Cleanrom ATT works with Bell variant, just remove boot.img. Except that the Bell D803 is the most expensive...
I just want to know if the Rogers one is compatible with ATT stuff.
I don't see why it should be an issue. The phones are all the same besides the minimal bloat each carrier throws on their. When i rooted my Bell G2, it was using a root method meant for a Rogers D803. Cleanrom should flash fine on any of the D803s provided you delete the boot.img

Ok thanks. But do you know exactly why we have to delete the boot.img?

Yes because the kernel differences between the different models. They use different radio bands, and people have been having modem issues so until that is sorted do not use kernels outside of the D803 variants. It may be something ridiculously simple like a zip addon to flash overtop to correct the minor differences but until then don't do it or at least make sure you TWRP your entire install first.

So for now, we can flash ATT stock-based roms without minding the kernel?

Just a question, I know for a lot of other phone a Canadian equivalence phone (ie Sammy s3 and note 2) can use at&t ROM with out mods...is this the same case for the d803? Can we use d800 ROM without modding? I just find there's limited ROM for d803, please advice.
J
I dont think so from what ive read. I downloaded an att ROM today actually and removed the boot.img from it. Going to flash later when i get home and see what happens.
It would be nice if the LG roms worked like sammy...being able to flash without issue across diff models/carriers especially since roms for the d803 are limited.

Can we flash d802 ROM on d803? The international version?

So, heres my situation and Im hoping someone can give me a good answer.
I am currently on a ATT GS4, on MF3. I have NOT upgraded from this version before because I had rooted and then enabled tethering on my phone. Since I did this, I have moved to Tmobile and it's a non-issue since it seems that tethering on a ATT GS4 is impossible to get working on Tmobile.
I have also flashed the AWS enabled radio to my phone. My question is if I install the latest ATT update will that remove the AWS compatible radio or is that not an issue? Also, whats the best way to upgrade to the latest version given my situation?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

If you flash the mk2 tar files it will erase everything on your phone except the ext sd card. The all in one guide has everything you need. You should be able to re-flash the AWS radio after you upgrade I imagine.

There are a number of custom roms for mk2 that require flashing the proper modem to get LTE to work, so obviously mk2 doesn't stop one from flashing radios.. Look at the guide and see.
I own a originally Sprint S4, after rooting and playing around with it (I recall updating the modem and installing Triforce Custom ROM).. one day i realized it turned into a Canadian S4 when I tried to install another Custom ROM (Beanstalk 4.4.2), CWM said I was trying to install a jfltespr file and I needed a jlftecan one. I looked for the canadian version of the ROM and it installed without a problem and everything works. My phone now shows model as SGH-l337M and I can install anything made for the Canadian variant. Can someone explain to me how is this possible and how can I revert whatever I did? Thanks in advance.
P.S: I'm positive that I played around with more things, I just don't remember.

Glitch in the Matrix... should have taken the blue pill.
You flashed a ROM that was not for this Sprint S4 (SPH-L720) so of course the model will show as different. If you want a U.S. Sprint model ROM then flash one of them to get the right build number.
Not sure what you're asking. Or are you just stating?

Thanks for answering, my question was how do I go back to Sprint model and you just answered. But I can't help to wonder, can I use this method to freely change my S4 Model so I can install say, International S4 ROMS? (I9005)
You do NOT change the model your phone will forever be a SPH-L720. Its only a build prop change that happens that makes it seem like the model number has changed. I can do.the same thing with stock NAE ROM by changing one line in the build prop.

As daniel4653 said you don't change the model - it is what it is. Like slaping a Mercedes hood ornament on a yugo - it's still a yugo.

the answer is pretty much NO. Unless it's ported to the Sprint Galaxy S4 hardware. Unless you want to turn your device into a pretty paperweight that is.
I've got it, thank you for answering. So in order to go back to make my phone accept SPH-L720 ROMS via CWM I need to force-flash(say Odin) a Sprint ROM? Can't I just change that line in the build.prop?
You don't have to change the build prop for anything to flash. Just flash away via Odin or CWM.

The thing is CWM states that I should not be installing jfltespr ROM's whenever i try to because my phone is needs jfltecan ones, even though my phone was originally Sprint but now it displays as Canadian. That's why I wanted to make sure that flashing a Sprint ROM via Odin was safe.
Not really sure what you're doing, with what CWM or how. Sounds to me like you're using some other 'branded' recovery, or some other flashing app.
I suspect a whole lot more reading should be done.
But IF you have a Sprint Galaxy S4 model SPH-L720 (and not the T version) you can install Philz recovery - look in the dev section. Then flash whatever you want.
I'm trying to help a friend install some roms on his att gs4. I'm familiar with Tmobile s4 since i have one and often install custom roms but with att phone i see its a little different.
My main question is how do I get a rom on his phone without losing Tmobile unlock privileges he currently has.
also if someone could explain how this whole loki thing works that'd be awesome, like can i install tmo rom on his 337 or only att made roms
he's probably just looking to install a nice stable tw rom that is up to date with either 4.4.2 or 4.3

How to run other carrier roms:

All 4.4.2 i337 confirmed roms:

Thanks, these are very good links and will be extremely helpful.
I'm just wondering what would happen if after I install a rom what or if I'll have to do anything to make them work with his tmo sim/plan

The only thing might be entering T-Mobiles apn settings. tell your friend to go to wireless/networks > more > mobile networks > access point names and have him make a .txt with everything there so he can key it in once he's on a new rom
I'm assuming safestrap recovery will allow us to create a good old NANDroid backup incase of anything going wrong

yeah, you can back up everything. I'd advise doing only data though
I have a question about roms and the different us varients. Since we have the same hardware and other stuff as the other carriers would it be possible to use one of their roms minus the boot.img. Could we just replace their boot.img with our verizon boot.img.
My assumption is no. Would probably mess with with more than we can chew. I would wait until either someone modifies one for VZW, twrp, or safestrap is out for our phones.
Cool was just wondering. If only itvwad that easy
Yeah I'm wondering if this is possible as well. I have the Verizon Phone but only use it with an AT&T sim card. I believe we still need a custom recovery before we can flash other ROMs.
You could try it with flashfire but like he said, with out TWRP its a long shot.
