[Q] Email Bug? - Omnia 7 General

Hello there.
This is my first port here and I hope, it is the right place to ask.
I'm using a Samsung Omnia 7, now with Dynamics 2.2. (until a few minutes with german Telekom stock ROM).
I have got a problem to use an email-account from TU Dortmund with my WP7-device. Because it works without problems with Windows8 and iOS (and even with LiveEssentials under Win7), I assume, it's a WP7-problem.
I installed Dynamics-ROM to see, if this problem exists in a custom ROM and it doesn't work either.
I used the imap4 setting in WP7, installed all security-certificates provided by the university (after WP7 said, the certificates are not valid), and some time ago, I tried different port-settings. (as newbie here, I'm not allowed to post the links to show you the different informations)
My guess: WP7 can't handle the certificates like it should.
Perhaps someone here can give me another hint, what to do or to try. Or someone of the ROM-developers could have a look for it?
Some help/advice would be nice.

You're probably correct regarding the certificates on WP7 but you should ask in the WP7 Questions section if you still require an answer.

Pls advise

I am sure if i found here a right section to post my thread pls correct me if i am wrong in any way....
I'm a newbie here. Lately, i spent some certain time on checking out this forum, and found most i needed. I must say this is such a great ppc site which's globalized with many experts from all over the world.
By following the tools and instructions provided by experts here, i believe i successfully unlocked my HTC device, and i'd like to do a switch with other Roms. Unfortunately, i couldn't get it though i found. Because i don't know why they were just uploaded to Rapidshare which it's pretty hard for me to get it. My HTC device has too many unuseful built-in programmes that i don't need at all.
So i hope some one can help with out there
here's my device info.
HTC P3600 WM6 Pro. (Eng)

Rom:3.00.707.17
Rom date:06/29/07
Radio:1.16.00.00

thank you

There are plenty of "light" roms. These have virtually no programmes installed and so you can put on just what you need. Check ou t a light ROM - and update your radio - you can then use the GPS in your trinity, too.
it's a common misconception that removing programs from the rom somehow free up space to use for other things
rom space is rom space and using a rom which dont fill it up dont leave more space to storage or other programs
if programs are in the rom and not autostarted when the pda starts they have absolutly no impact on performance or anything for the pda
Got cha man
thank you for your explanation....but can i ask you a question? What if i get O2 rom into my HTC P3600, would it be possible to do that...? i hope to get more information....hehe....thanks

Qtek 9090 help!

Ey people,
I really like this forum and i just joined
I have 2 questions and i hope you guys can answer it .
1: What is the best(newest) windows version for my qtek 9090?
2: I just installed helmi's windows mobile version 6.1 pro.
what can i do with: Helmi HomePlug_Comp.cab?
Thanks, and bye!!
Hi qtek9090f,
Welcome to the forum! If you haven't done so already, please take a look at the forum rules.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=488533
Now, to your questions...
The best and latest rom so far... well, there are two roms that could be considered the greatest and latest...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482997 (look in xplodes' signature for the rom)
and this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=488925
You can go either way since both are fantastic roms... Now, as far as Helmi's cab, if I am not mistaken that is HTC's home plugin from WM5 that came out a while ago. You do not need to install it (unless you want to of course). There are far better UIs out there (at least in my opinion)...
Hope this helps and once again, welcome

Hi, i believe some of you remember that i am switching from X1 to HD2... Well, i have changed it and i'm using it now (love the big screen)
I was wandering around this forum... I saw a post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578575&highlight=dualboot
What does it actually means by: "ANDROID/MAEMO/LINUX on HD2"
Is it that when i flashed it, my Windows OS platform is gone for good???
Then... ... I searched deeper. LOL, and notice this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623792
I am very very attracted to the DualBoot... Thats actually i wanted for my HD2.
Well, thats not my main question/request...
A troublesome request will be appearing after this sentence, i hope that you guys wouldn't feel fed-up. *(Apologize to you first)*
The most important question... Is it compatible for HD2??? If its not, sorry for this post.
If it is compatible, could someone spare me their time to guide me along the step and procedures to install the android OS and then the DualBoot.
If possible, mind attaching/link the required file for this whole process.
A million thanks to you guys. Sorry if i speak a bit to harsh
P.s. Sorry if there is a guide already up there in the forum . I'm a student and need to study for my test, didn't have time to search so many pages
I don't mind if you copy/paste the guide here... Just attach the required files needed.
Thanks once again
...Sorry if i speak a bit to harsh
I would like to advice you to read more of the ANDROID/MAEMO/LINUX on HD2 thread. You'll see that it still is in full development. For android to work developers need to create a custom kernel that will run on the HD2 using Haret. There is no question of a nand flash of android as of yet.
Now even with the use of Gen.Y dualboot, if you are not able to boot into android, the application in itself is still useless (on HD2). Furthermore, the dual boot application does in fact start your windows mobile Rom but directly start Haret instead of completely loading windows mobile (correct me if i'm wrong please).
So to sum up. Don't worry about flashing over windows mobile. This isn't possible (yet). Running android is not working (yet). And even with the use of Gen.Y dualboot, you'd still run windows mobile as a flashed rom and not Android itself.
I do have to ask though. If you just got the phone and already want Android.. why didn't you get an android phone? Ofcourse if you are like me and just like to tinker with your phone I can understand .

Trying to deal with T-mobile modifications

Hey everybody.
You will have to excuse my ignorance and please don't assume any knowledge.
I recently got a HTC HD2 from T-mobile, with its own version of the ROM, and I have to say the problems with the weather application (and others) are beginning to get on my nerves.
While I could rant about how T-Mobile (UK) has managed to more or less damage an otherwise perfectly functional phone, I will instead ask for your help.
My brother uses a HD2 with a different network, and because of this has the "generic" ROM. I'd like to be able to install the same thing on my phone and still be able to use the t-mobile internet and mobile contract.
I've tried installing the generic ROM upgrade, but it won't allow me apparently due to the fact that t-mobile has some proprietary thing on my phone.
If you can help, please do. Like I said before, please don't assume any knowlegde or understanding: I need any help you give in the most simple terms you can bring yourself to use (I've tried reading other threads, and I've been completely overwhelmed by the jargon and things I don't understand).
Also, t-mobile have been no help whatsoever.
thanks in advance
Conradw
install hspl from the hspl sticky thread in the rom development section, download the official rom of your choice from the Leo official roms sticky thread, instal hspl, then flash the rom using usb. Job done.
oh my goodness. That simple.
Didn't solve my problem, but hopefully its a step in the right direction

[Q] Newbie needs assist

Hi!
Good day!
I have a HTC HD2 with Android 2.3.4 installed in it and I would like to try/ switch to Windows Phone7. I've seen a few videos over youtube and read some of the threads here but all I see are windows 7 BETA roms. Is there a "final" rom for the HD2? If not, where do i find the latest Windows 7 ROM for my HTC HD2?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427611 - This thread seem to have compiled all the ROMs and updates for HTC HD2 -Windows (Thanks to the efforts of the developers and the one who compiled) but I cannot seem to figure out which ROM to get. Any assistance would be very much appreaciated.
Apologies for asking a very basic question.
Thanks!
Carlos
WOW..
I don't really know what you mean with BETA roms, because all those roms shall be very well developed, in my eyes.
"A final rom" by meaning a rom that is almost as much developed as the official released WP rom, then you can just choose one from the development threads. In ex. my HD2 is running on XBmod rom and is just like running on a official rom for me. There are many good roms like the one made by HD2Owner, or the on by Pdaimatejam etc. All these roms are WELL developed, not a BETA.
But if you mean a final one by meaning that the development is good enoug so the rom is stopped on development, you can't find one, because all roms are still getting new features just like the official one is updating itself
here you find all ROM's for HD2
recommend this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356833
dont forget to read tutorial for install
also dont forget to need ask Microsoft for Live activation code (all HD2 ROM's need this)
Thanks!
Hi Eric and dxdy,

All the ROMs are basically the same, albeit tweaks the chef may have added. You have to realize that WP7 is constantly updated by MS...just like Android. All the ROMs sporting v8773 (Tango) have the BETA v8773 build. Thus, when MS releases the official final version of v8773 you'll have to reflash your phone and install all your apps again when the chef releases an update.
The Yuki/XBmod ROM is on the official v8107 (Mango). It is also the most stable and the only updatable custom ROM via official MS Zune update. As such, no reflash needed. It is no longer chef supported, but it's still the most stable one of the bunch.
I have tried almost all of the ROMs out there and still use Yuki/XBmod on my phones.
Hi hjhjhj ,
Noted on that. Things seem clearer now.
I just did it! I was able to boot my phone on Win7 woohooo!!!
Thanks to all who replied to my query
Ok one last problem, when i call Microsoft help desk and ask for an activation code, what details do they ask? will they make sure I have a phone originally installed with WP7?
