Video lag in new YouTube app - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone who is using the international LG G2 noticed lag during playback in the new YouTube app?
I have tried uninstall the updates and the old version worked flawlessly, as well as the mobile web version.
Any solutions is much appreciated. Thanks.
Sorry for my bad English.

have same Problem

Usually clearing out cache will fix my lag. I believe this issue is more app related then phone related

Not at all. Got only problems with playing videos. Video streaming stops sometimes and have to move it forward a bit

Anyone else having issues with YouTube playback on micromod's gb rom?

I get the sound but no picture on YouTube playback. Anyone else facing the same issue?

Oh and this only happens when trying to playback in HD. With HD off, the playback works normally.

Yes I get the same.

It's a limitation of earlier Gingerbread ROMs. Cyanogen has got round it now.
Hey Rusty,
Do you have any idea if its ok to flash that rom over micromod's without a clean wipe?

No idea, take a backup then try it.
I've moved to CM7. Its much more stable and has FM radio as well. Thanks for your help Rusty.

YouTube app constantly stops playing to load

So the YouTube app constantly will play, then load, then play, then load again. It doesn't seem to matter what WiFi connection I'm on. The video will sometimes preload all the way but still do it. Is there any fix for this? Thanks!

Ye, it happens, I think it's a problem of the app itself. It kind of happens to me too, but I haven't used the app lately.
Happen to me too.. worse part is I have to sign in all the time, when I launch youtube ._.

After the last update it keeps needing to signed in. And I hate the loading issue, A video will begin to load, You can watch the video loading slowly staying just far enough ahead that it plays until the loading stalls and eventually the video stops to buffer. :crying:

Why is android os using so much data?

Have you streamed any videos? Youtube? Etc?
When you use youtube app only the app browsing is recorded by the youtube app, if you actually play a video it is recorded by android os not youtube app.
You should actually stop doing so many speed tests!

I actually figured it out. I had used that much YouTube data earlier and I uninstalled it to install a modded YouTube. The new YouTube is considered a new entry, while old YouTube became part of android os.

It might be the setting that pauses video when you look away. Turn that off and I think you will be fine

Best browser for the LG?

Hi.
I've been using chrome and it does indeed perform very well, but it does occasionally stutter and lag. I tried naked browser which works wonders on my mid-end tablet but it seemed to perform worse than chrome. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
