The keyboard is buggy it seems pen input crashes and i have had the keyboard crash too. As well as otehr crashes. Not cool Samsung. Completely stock and no OTAs out for me yet. I did get the update from play store. Anyone got a fix for this F/C ?

I know I saw various posts regarding the Launcher force closing before the 3.1 update.
After the update, I continue to get force closes on the launcher and various applications. For the most part, I only run Honeycomb designed apps with a couple of exceptions.
Anyone else continuing to have the Launcher force close after the 3.1 update? Thanks.

Me too -- just FCs randomly as best I can tell. I run lots of widgets, though. Beautiful widgets, email and gmail, wizz widgets, 360 news, music, etc. Mostly just a minor annoyance, but I'd love to get it cleared up. I've run fix permissions multiple times. Running Prime1.5 and clemsyn-blades v16.
I used to get those FC's often on the launcher and almost any app I used when I was on 3.01, but since installing 3.1 I have never got it on the launcher anymore and only seen it on a couple apps that weren't completely compatible with the TF so it seemed to fix it.
Is the problem in the lockscreen?
I installed Flyscreen after reading about it in another thread -- it adds widgets to a Honeycomb look-alike lock screen. Since it's really just an app, I was still getting the official lock screen after unlocking Flyscreen, so I went into settings -> location & security -> configure lock screen ... and set it to "off".
Suddenly, I'm not getting the launcher force closes anymore. It's only been about 12 hours (including overnight) - but I was getting a couple of closes per hour before. The lock screen settings change is the only thing I've done in/around the time that things settled down. I'm hopeful that this somehow did it.
I'm guessing that Flyscreen isn't necessary -- just changing the lockscreen settings. Maybe you could even turn them back on and not get closures? I'm happy to leave well enough alone on my tablet, but maybe this will help someone else.
** by the way - I'm running Prime1.5 with Clemsyn-BladesOC#16. But I've had the FC issue as long as I can remember, even with Primordial and stock kernels (I rooted right after getting my TF).
Hi guys,
Thought I'd share, does anyone else find the gmaps app force close when getting directions? it runs ok when I start it and after a couple of seconds after looking for directions the map itself goes blank and then the app shuts down. I tried clearing the apps data a cache but still the same.
Surprisingly (and I'm being ironic), this started after the ICS update.
Has anybody else been getting this? ASUS and google, this is for you!
Yes, I get this often. It's like the Gmail problem I also get sometimes.
Check out the Google Maps reviews on Google Play, the website version, filtered for ASUS Transformer TF101 owners only. Almost all of them are having these problems lately.
Same thing with Gmail. Filter the reviews for TF101 only and sort by newest first. Almost all reviews having problems with Gmail lately.
Count me in. Both apps work for awhile after a reboot then begin to do as described.
Same here. Google maps trying to find your gps location causes maps to blank then force close. Update after update still same issues. Asus email widget gets stuck without updating how many new emails etc. When in inbox just freezes and FC.
YOUTUBE is always flickering when you type to search.
I am using Megatron 1.04 CM9 build but don't think it is issue with rom. All this happened after ICS update. Asus and Google really ****ed up this OS upgrade. So many issues with their own OS and their OWN apps not integrating properly is just bad PR for both hardware and software. Makes one wonder if they bothered with any QA at all.
good point about the flickering Youtube app.. also, if you have your keyboard plugged in, when you hit space while typing in the search field, it skips through videos! seems as the space as a navi key overrides space as the space key, if this makes sense.. all of those are GOOGLE native apps and I just can't believe the bogus stuff ASUS and GOOGLE released and still have not fixed!
I'm putting this here since I don't see the issue posted on N7 section. And the different solutions on other sections didn't work for me.
The problem is keyboard crashing with ' unfortunately android keyboard has stopped working' dialog. This was annoying as not only couldn't you use keyboard but also the keyboard kept restarting and crashing. Tried to clear keyboard data from app info screen but no help. Tried uninstalling the last couple apps I had installed but no help.
Finally remembered randomly seeing 'unfortunately dictionary has stopped' dialog sometime in the past week. So went back into settings - apps - all apps, and found "Dictionary Provider" which I promptly disabled. And just like that android keyboard stopped misbehaving.
Why is dictionary provider causing problems? I haven't looked into it just yet as wanted to put this up asap so anyone else with same issue can also stop keyboard crashing since that's top priority in this situation.
My Nexus 7 is at JB 4.1.2 rooted with stock everything.

I force stopped the "\system settings\apps\Dictionary provider", cleared data. Which seems to have fixed the problem.
THANK YOU!!!

Hello guys,
I own a Nexus 4 on which I have installed the stock rom by Google, version 5.1, no root, only unlocked bootloader.
I found out that every alternative keyboard I try (I like Fleksy, Minuum and TouchPal over the others, but this happens with every keyboard I ever tried) lags after a while. I mean, the first 2 or 3 days it all works fine, then it starts to be slow on opening, and general lag occurs.
Except for Google Keyboard and Kii Keyboard (not available anymore), it happened with Fleksy, Minuum, TouchPal, SwiftKey, Swype, Go.... everyone.
Is there something I should do on my phone? Or maybe is there a keyboard that does not ship with this particular problem on my device?
Thank you for your kind help,
Ruben
Stock rom no root. After google updated the keyboard to gboard it crash at every moment. Every time, sometimes it get stuck and don't reset so i can't write and have to restart the phone. Really anoying. Is someone else experiencing the same problem?
After months of suferring i uninstalled it and download google keyboard latest version before gboard and now my phone is a lot lot lot more faster and there are no more crash.
gboard is complete garbage and so are many keyboards, I find it unbelievable that most android keyboards use more RAM than chrome
any information about this gboard problem? i whant to keep it stock.
