Hi,
I've been having problems with the hotmail app recently and as a result did the reset function in settings, only to find the same problem when everything is reinstalled.
This to me indicates that this is resetting everything but somehow traces are left bwhind.
What is the sure method to erase eveything?

To erase everything go to settings -privacy -reset phone with erase everything checked. (this will erase your sdcard so make backup first)
Switch off the phone, Then go to recovery mode by pressing volume up + home + power key until recovery screen -wipe data /factory reset. Reboot...
Enjoy

or even easier go to the dialer and dial *2767*3855# that is the full hard reset/format...it WILL ERASE EVERYTHING...
So: Settings>Back up and reset > Factory Data reset is just resets and doesn't really bring it to 100% factory default conditions?
If you have rooted your phone and is on a ICS ROM please read up on brick bug issue before wiping.

Definitely, you can recover your deleted data through data recovery software. There is lots of software available in the market. You can use any of them.
Data recovery from galaxy note 8.0 is possible with samsung galaxy data recovery software.
Try this one: recover data from samsung galaxy phone and tablet
It is easy to follow and works well to recover deleted files from samsung galaxy phones and tablets.

Yes you can. Not an issue.
If you factory reset all you data (images songs contacts) will get wiped.

I'm going to return my nexus 6p, because of display issues and I wanna make sure if everything is deleted completely after a hard reset, so the existing data can not be recovered with data recovery tools. How do I do this?

Flash a factory image. Then do a full format of the data partition. There is no way to completely wipe it out without a serious data destruction tool. A bit overkill if you ask me though. Unless you work for the CIA.
I've done factory reset and my all data is formatted because of Android 10
Can anyone know how to recover my data with software

You can't. Because the new data was writen to the Data Partition when you reset and it overwrite formated Data.
