I need a rugged case. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

i need a case for my Galaxy s4. i want very tough case for it. cause i'm butter finger. which one is good? i need a one with a rugged protection. is spigen sgp slim view a good choice? that one looks cool. and is their screen protection glass cover. i've seen ones for iphone and Galaxy s2.
and also, i heard of something called cooling film. is it safe and does it really works?

There are a variety of good rugged cases available, I suggest you google Galaxy S4 Durable Cases.

Seidio makes great cases. They also have a waterproof/dustproof one as well.

Lifeproof is great. My iPhone 5 fre case is covered in dents from hitting concrete so much but phone is perfect. I assume similar for when the galaxy s4 case gets in Stock and I can order it.

There is no life proof for the S4. The closest is the Seidio case I mentioned.

That's incorrect there is it just came out it's $89.99 though. Would post a link, but just joined to post this. You can find it on the Lifeproof site. That said I really like my Otterbox Commuter.

I was just on their site yesterday, and they only had one for the S3. i will look around for it.

I am a bit weary of it because it does not have a screen protector, so actually testing it before putting the phone in, is impossible. This may however be good for using a tempered glass protector.

That's the nuud version. The fully protected one is the fre and was in Stock at 2:30pm PST yesterday but sold out like Wildfire after they put the announcement up on fb. I'm sure they will be in Stock again soon just not sure when. Oh and the email list is useless as they aren't notifying on that at all.

I'll second this... I use their active case with the holster, and have dropped my old phone (GS2) several times without issue. I also laid it in the top of my wife's acadia's hatch back near the hinge... I closed the door 4 - 5 times trying to figure out why it felt like it was not closing properly. When I went to look for my phone later, I realized where I had left it... Panicked, I went out to the car expecting the worst... I opened the door and the only problem with the phone was the case had a nice deep indentation in the "firm" plastic backing, but the phone was fine. They have a version called OBEX that is waterproof too. They do not add A LOT of bulk, but any good case will add some bulk. I had the holster break where the pin is inserted into the plastic for the clip. I took a picture and sent them an email. The sent me a new clip/holster for free!
I also had an otterbox defender back when I had an iPhone 3GS (it was a gift )... It was an extremely tough, but extremely bulky too.
Both cases feel good in hand. It mostly comes down to personal opinion, or which company has the color you like

Durability for kids

I had a N7 Before and it froze all the time. I am looking at buying a 7 inch hd refurb from Amazon. For folks with kids, how durable have these been? We need our phones, haha they keep draining our battery, so we figure a tablet will help. I just dont want it to crap out after the first drop

I let my one year old niece play with mine, had a "baby app" on it for her to at with, and it survived a good twenty minutes of drops, step ons, and roll overs. Not a problem.

How do you carry your SGN2

It's almost summer in my country, I'm living in Pula, Croatia. A city on the sea,
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pula
My question is how do you carry the "beast" around and what you use in different countrys with differend weather conditions.
It would be nice if you also share a wiki link of your city, so people can discover maybe a nice town to visit.

Usually on my mail man bags but on other days I like to just hold my Note 2 with an awesome case on. :highfive:
Where I live its usually cold and raining and in my conutry there is not safety so I carry the Note in the pocket of my jacket so it doesn't look to other people that is there. Is worse when I have to go home in a cab and somebody calls me, I have to quickly hang up. After all the only place I can safety use the Note is in my house, where I have any risk of somebody stealing it from me

The best all round case for me would be the Samsung Protective Cover±. It barely feels like its there, durable and provides good protection against the elements, provided it has a screen protector on.

I carry my GN2 naked in an empty jean or pants pocket. Don't like screen protector but am forced to use one because of the hot and humid weather in my country. (plus I prespire alot)
I have original flip cover and carry it 90% of the time in shirt pocket - that is, when I go to work I have to be in shirt. On weekends when I wear t-shirt without the breast pocket... I dunno yet. cause the weather here in Czech is horrible we didn't have sunny day yet That will probably be a problem.... pozdrav za Pulu zavidim vam na vremenu

Most of the time I wear it in a jacket pocket - that's the most convenient solution (with a thin black Nillikin case, that adds very little thickness).
But now that its getting warmer I sometimes carry it in either a jeans pocket or in a leather belt pouch (unprotected, can't afford extra bulk then).

Hi I am from Kerala, a lil more to the south. Could you please let me know where you got the metalic bumper case for the beast. I have been searching ebay and all and am using al plastic cases.
---------- Post added at 11:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:40 AM ----------
Myself...from Cochin, India.. Usually wear jeans and formal trousers. The note fits into the jeans pockets somehow eventhough he tends to peep out every now and then. Recently a fellow note user reported issues of bent motherboard due to usage with jeans pockets and he had replaced motherboard twice under warranty for that reason...so now I have shifted to a belt case which i bought from ebay. Might feel a bit funny to carry such a fat boy on your leather but i am geeting used to it since I cant stand a motherboard issue anyway. So anyone out there using the note 2 in tight fits...please stay informed that there is a potential risk to motherboard when you continuously expose the gadget to shearing stress.

Best Buy Dilemma

Hi everyone,
So the other day, I noticed that my S8 had a straight line of multiple scratches from the iris camera to the bottom bezel. This was confusing since I only had the phone for a couple of hours, and have only put it in my pocket.
We took this to Best Buy, and they explained that "your pockets, fabric, etc., can scratch Gorilla Glass." Now this made no sense since it was a completely straight line, and no pockets of mine could've done that. There's not even a wallet in that pocket as well.
I wanted to take this to here to see if anyone else has seen this long line of scratches when they bought their S8, and also to see if anyone had the same problem with Best Buy.
I doubt very seriously that your pocket was able to scratch the display. I've always carried my phones in my pocket with no issues. There feeding you Bull. Look up on youtube for scratch and durability test and you'll see. Take it back and demand areplacement.

Yes i agree, but right after buying the phone. I Highly doubt he had sand in his pocket. I could be wrong and he just got back from beach. But i would still go make them give a replacement, being its only been a couple hrs. If no replacement, then i would get money back and order another one.
